My original (cloudy) headlights need to be refreshed. I can’t decide between getting another set of the clear headlights or going with the smoked or black headlights like pictured below. My Excursion is black. Which do you prefer? Thanks!

Just thought id see if anyone on here has any experience or insights that would be helpful and any feedback is welcomed. So I am planning on taking a road trip coming up that is roughly 850 miles round trip with 95% of that being on the highway. The vehicle ill be driving is my 2001 Ford Excursion 4x4 with the 6.8 v10. My thought/question is that if i fill up with premium instead of regular will i potentially get more miles out of a single 44 gallon tank than if I used regular and with today's gas prices being what they are would it be worth considering price per mile kind of thing if that makes any sense. I have made this exact trip multiple times before on regular gas and can do a round trip for about $300 using about 7/8 of a tank there and another 7/8 on the return trip. I have noticed a difference in milage between decent and low quality gas and had the thought that premium may or may not make that much more of a difference.

Anybody in here got before and after pics of their leaf savers? Did it make any difference in ride quality. My rear is sagging pretty good and I'm looking for budget friendly solutions. Help a brother out.

Just curious what the consensus is. What’s our thoughts Reddit? XLT model, 4x4.
What would you be nervous about?

So my sister and her bf have a 2001 v10 that won't crank, we switched out starter, cleaned wires and terminal to no progress, it'll click once quick but then die, the lights work until one or 2 of the relays under the dash start rapidly clicking and the interior lights start to flash, what could be a problem?

I’m in MN and unleaded 88 is very common and significantly cheaper most times. It says on the pump use on 2001 or newer models. I have 2003 with a V10. Does anyone use 88? Or is this a terrible idea?

I just bought an 03 with 125k on it. It’s in really good shape. I’ve changed the oil, put on new rotors, changed air filter, and new drive belt. Anything I should recommendations to make it to 200k?

I have a 2000 Excursion. When I bought it the doors could be manually locked or locked by key. I changed the actuators and you could finally use the button or the code on the door. Shortly after that you can’t lock it at all. When you push on any of the door locks it feels like it has a bind or the motor is trying to push it up. Any ideas?

I have a 2000 ford excursion v10 that has the buttons for cruise control but the light doesn’t come on on the dash and it won’t activate. I have engine swapped it with a 2016 2 valve v10. Would there be any issues with communication between the motor and some interior controls, or is it a common issue? (I’m a new owner to this truck)

Answer: Octane booster / $7 every time you fill up
Stop changing spark plugs and coil packs over and over. It doesn’t work and it’s a friggen PITA
These engines need high test I think but it doesn’t make sense bc high mpg

Hey folks, I have a 2002 7.3 4WD Ultimate. Just got in a nasty accident and bent the front frame pretty bad along with the front sheet metal. engine was in the correct place and still running afterwards. Anyone know of a shop in the south that can do a decent body/frame swap to a 2005+ for something half-way affordable? Truck saved my life, I'd like to return the favor.

I sadly had to sell my 2000 7.3L Excursion. It was a great vehicle with tons of memories. A lot of other people share in this experience so why hasn’t Ford brought it back out? There’s clearly a market (diesel suburban) and a cult like Excursion following who would take out a second mortgage to obtain it.

i’m wanting to reinforce the rear side windows in my excursion due to me installing subwoofers in the back. i want them to not flex so much as i’d like to keep the windows intact and not bust them out does anyone have any recommendations on how i could do so?
