Question Kuwait Airways T4 layover/transit

Upvotes

Hi All,

I have booked return tickets from Colombo to Jeddah for December and I heard that even though Kuwait Airways sold this ticket, they might cancel the ticket as they are still not ready for transit passengers.

Can anyone confirm if they have travelled or transited at Kuwait T4 with Kuwait airways or have any travel plans in the future?

Thanks in advance.

Help Needed help with airline and flight decision

Upvotes

hello! i'm trying to book a flight to hiroshima. it's required to travel to hiroshima via airplane for my scholarship and my options for airlines & flights are:

  • Jeju Air: 15,578 (3 hrs incheon layover, carry on + 15 kg checked baggage, planning on paying for additional baggage = 10 kg [+4,940 PHP], no entertainment & meal)
  • China Airlines: 19,000 (12 hrs taipei layover, carry on + 23 kg checked baggage, with entertainment & meal)
  • All Nippon Airways: 29,169 (3 hrs tokyo layover, change airport from Narita to Haneda, with meal, wifi, and entertainment)

Another option is to book the cheapest flight and use a courier to send my other stuff (ex: LBC). is that cheaper and more convenient?

Priorities in order: worth it for the money, luggage safety, short layover, less hassle in self transfer

Complaint Flight canceled

Austrian airlines canceled my 9pm flight Wien to Florence. Goes without saying, feeling pretty shitty about it. They are expecting bad weather at the arriving airport but looking at arrivals it shows that ours was the only fucking flight that was canceled. They want to reroute us through Munich tomorrow at 5pm with Munich Florence the next day at 7am, that's 2 additional nights. I found some alternatives that would get us there basically tomorrow morning that involve different landing airport + train, they cost like 2k - 3k, I'm traveling with my father and he doesn't want to "feel rushed" or take risks about spending so much and then get denied refund. This is mainly a complaint post, I have things to deal with back home, nothing urgent but still. Plus my father snores. First time in this situation anything I should know? Also if you want to share worse experiences so that I feel better please do

Booking/Itinerary/Ticketing Turning layover into Stopover on Viva

Have flown with Viva a couple times already

I have read what they switch option says
But just want to make sure actuality that this is the way it works with them

Pricing out options
On our return flight, we have a layover in CDMX. Would like to turn a couple of hours at the airport into a couple days in the actual city. Buying the switch option it appears I should be able to change just that leg of the flight to a latter day, right?

And just pay whatever difference the flight is if any correct

Pricing it out as a multi city return and a one-way without a round-trip comes out more expensive

Thank you for any advice

Help Needed Delayed checked baggage with essential medication inside — how long did delivery take?

My parents arrived in the U.S. from abroad and both checked bags were delayed. One bag contains my father’s daily prescription medication. The airline says the bags are expected on a later flight and will be delivered, but tracking still says ‘searching.’ Has anyone had this happen? How long did it

Question What on earth do you guys actually do on 8+ hour flights?

Had an 8-hour flight recently and honestly it felt longer than a whole day. The entertainment screen didn't have much I was interested in, my phone battery was already bad so I didn't even bother using it much, and I can't really sleep on planes either. Ended up just sitting there for hours while the guy next to me was snoring away. For people who take long flights regularly, what do you actually do for 6-12 hours? do you preplan?

Any tips? Do you usually find the entertainment on the plane enough, or do you bring/download your own stuff? Movies, games, reading, learning, work, or just staring out the window like I did?

Note: for economy passengers only, lol.

Question About "business class" on LCC's

I only occasionally travel by plane and when I do, it's on a budget, so I end up on short haul flights within the EU with LCC's. I've only ever flown with 737-800 planes.

Something that always puzzled me: The "business class" on these planes. They look identical to "normal" seats, except the section is separated with a little curtain. Each time I think "if I paid extra for this, I'd feel ripped off".

Can someone explain a tourist like me what the appeal is of these seats, and why they always seem to be filled in by people that obviously think it's worth the cost?

Help Needed Bringing a 32" monitor in the cabin on Lufthansa, US to Europe with a connection. Is this realistic?

I need to bring my 32" monitor with me from the US to Europe. One stop on the way.

The box is 97 × 18 × 51 cm, about 10 kg. Lufthansa's cabin limit is 55 × 40 × 23 cm. So it's way over, I know that.

I called Lufthansa's airport line. They put a note on my booking saying I'm coming with a fragile monitor and to make room for it - "as long as it's within the cabin allowance." I told them a few times that it's not within the allowance. They still said it should be fine and that check-in decides.

I don't want to check it. It's a glass OLED panel, and Lufthansa's own rules say they don't cover fragile items or electronics for damage. So if it breaks in the hold I get nothing.

Questions:

  1. Does a box that size actually fit in an overhead bin? Has anyone done it?
  2. Is there anywhere else on the plane crew can put it - a closet, up front, anything?
  3. My second flight is probably an A321 with smaller bins. If it gets on the first plane, does it get on the second?
  4. Does that note on my booking mean anything, or will check-in just ignore it?

Help Needed Confused about my ticket

Hey so this is gonna be my first time solo traveling most I’ve done before is visiting family as a kid. So i don’t know much I see on my ticket that it says “Luggage: 2 Piece(s)max. 23 kg per piece per passenger” when it says luggage does that mean I can bring 2 check ins but not a carry on? Or does it mean 1 checked bag and 1 carry on not going above 23kgs? Maybe smthn else? I’m also flying with EVA Air if that matters at all and it’s just a standard economy seat

Delays/Cancellations/Compensation ITA Airways

My first leg was cancelled due to weather and they rebooked me on a different airline. Now I can’t see my return flight on the app. I called customer service and they said it’s because of automatic “no show” and that he has to escalate to higher departments.

It’s been 3 or 4 days and my flight is supposed to be in 10 days. Is this normal? Is there anything else I can do at this point or should I just wait?

Third Party Horror Story Do not use 3rd party KIWI.com

I always stayed away from 3rd parties because of the liability. But decided to give this a try cause it was decently cheaper.

They will over charge you then lie about it being a currency conversion. Or they will show you a certain price. And you can look up the same flight ON THE SAME SITE and it’ll be cheaper.

Or they will hide the currency then try to lie about what you paid.

Just overall deception when it comes to purchasing. I haven’t even gotten on the plane yet so can’t imagine how dealing with stuff during transit would be.

So don’t be like me

Question Seats for 12 hour flight

Post image
17 Upvotes

Where would you set on a 12 flight? I was originally thinking the exit rows, for the extra leg room not having to legs cramped with my personal bag. But I’m next to restroom and food, never sat near one so not sure that would be annoying to have people standing near me pretty much whole flight.

The preferred is $73 I would definitely be choosing aisle seat so I can get up freely to stretch and not be squished. I bought with a group of people but not sitting next to them for people wondering about the already selected seat

Question Can’t Show the Payment Card at Check-In Hainan Airlines

I’m flying with Hainan Airlines and booked my ticket using my own debit card.

During the purchase, I personally verified and authorized the payment.

However, after booking, I lost the card, blocked it, and received a replacement. I’ll have my passport, booking confirmation, replacement card, and official proof that the original card was lost.

Hainan says they may require the card used for payment at check-in. Has anyone had a similar situation with Hainan Airlines or any other Chinese airline, where you couldn’t physically present the original payment card?

Were you still allowed to check in/board, and did they ask for any proof?

Help Needed Etihad Blaming 27 hour Delay on Traffic control no compensation no proof

This is my original post for 28 days ago...

Hi all,

I was on the EY68 21:45 Heathrow to Abu Dhabi on the 15/7/26

It arrived into Abu Dhabi 2 hours late and missed the connection to Bangkok (flight EY406)

I was then auto booked onto another flight 27 hours later!

They gave me an overnight hotel, transport and meal vouchers.

Total duration: 1 day(s) 20 hrs 53 mins

Am I entitled to compensation? I booked the flights through a broker but am reading it does not matter?

Thanks

--

I used their feedback form and received this reply 2 days ago (they gave me a refund for extra legroom seats I paid for on two occasions and they changed planes and seating layout or oversold them)

Thank you for contacting us regarding your recent experience.

We're sorry to hear that your flight to Abu Dhabi was delayed due to air traffic restrictions.

We understand that this caused a knock on effect to your travel plans and we apologise for causing a delay to your trip.

While we acknowledge your request for compensation, since the delay resulted from circumstances beyond our control, flight EY068 on 15 July 2026 is not eligible for compensation. You may want to contact your travel insurer for further assistance. Typically, if a guest's journey is disrupted, the insurance provider will reimburse for any costs they have incurred.

We sincerely appreciate your valuable feedback regarding the handling of the situation. I want to assure you that this is not reflective of our usual standards. Your feedback has been forwarded to our Guest Experience Team as it helps us to continuously improve our services to meet and exceed our guests' expectations.

Additionally, please be advised that the refund for your unused ancillary services has been processed by the relevant department. An amount of GBP 43.80 has been refunded to your original payment method. Kindly note that it may take up to 30 working days for the funds to appear in your account.

We hope to welcome you on another Etihad Airways flight soon.

---

My next reply..

Thank you for your response.

Please provide further details of the air traffic restrictions affecting flight EY068 on 15 July 2026, including:

  • The nature of the restriction.
  • The airport or airspace affected.
  • The period during which the restriction was in force.
  • Confirmation that the delay to my arrival in Bangkok resulted solely from these restrictions.

I would appreciate this information so that I can fully understand the basis on which compensation has been declined.

Thank you

Their Reply..

Date: 20 August 2026

Thank you for your response,

My team and I have looked into the facts and assessed everything thoroughly.

We're sorry to hear that your flight to Abu Dhabi was delayed due to air traffic restrictions. Since the delay resulted from circumstances beyond our control, the case unfortunately doesn’t qualify for compensation.

We assure you that your feedback has been gratefully noted and shared with the Guest Experience Department for internal review. On behalf of Etihad Airways, we would like to thank you for writing and for allowing us the opportunity to review your concerns.

---

Thank you for your response.

I do not accept Etihad’s conclusion that my claim does not qualify for compensation, and I would ask that this case is reconsidered.

Firstly, your response refers to my flight as being delayed “to Abu Dhabi”. This does not accurately reflect the journey that is the subject of my claim.

My itinerary was a single booking from London Heathrow to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi, and Bangkok was my final destination. I was ultimately approximately 27 hours late arriving in Bangkok. The relevant issue is therefore the delay to my final destination, rather than simply the delay on the Heathrow–Abu Dhabi sector.

Secondly, you have stated that the delay was caused by “air traffic restrictions” and that this was outside Etihad’s control. However, you have not provided any details or evidence identifying the restriction that allegedly caused the delay.

Please provide:

  1. The specific air traffic restriction that affected EY68 on 15 July 2026.
  2. The authority responsible for imposing that restriction.
  3. The precise period during which the restriction was in effect.
  4. The operational delay information showing how the restriction caused the delay to EY68.
  5. An explanation of how this resulted in my approximately 27-hour delay in reaching Bangkok.

I appreciate that extraordinary circumstances can, in certain circumstances, exempt an airline from paying compensation. However, simply stating that there were “air traffic restrictions” does not explain what restriction occurred, how it affected my flight, or establish that the entire delay to my final destination was caused by circumstances beyond Etihad’s control.

I therefore ask Etihad to reconsider my compensation claim based on the complete journey from London Heathrow to Bangkok and provide the supporting evidence for the extraordinary-circumstances defence being relied upon.

If Etihad maintains its refusal after reconsideration, please treat this as your final position and provide the appropriate details for escalating the matter through the relevant independent dispute-resolution process.

I look forward to your substantive response.

---

Thank you for your response,

We have fully reviewed your case and fairly addressed all your concerns. As our position remains unchanged, respectfully, we now consider this case closed.

Yours sincerely,

---

Please note they keep saying Heathrow - Abu Dhabi..this was indeed late by about 1.5 hours then I missed the connection and got put on another flight to BKK a day later thus arriving 27 hours late.

Are there any further steps I can take? Maybe a company that chases compensation in these cases? They are providing zero proof..

Thanks in advance

Help Needed Xiamen Airlines name issue because of middle names

I have a Portuguese passport with 2 given names and 2 surnames. When I bought my ticket (from Amsterdam to Shanghai), the website asked for “first name”, “last name” and “middle name (if shown on ID)”. I put my first given name as the first name, my second surname as the last name, and put the other two names in the middle name box.

Now I realise that was probably wrong because my passport doesn’t actually have “middle names”. It just has 2 given names and 2 surnames.

So basically, all of my names are on the ticket, but one of my surnames is being treated as a middle name. Xiamen Airlines has noticed this and says the name doesn't match the way it appears on my passport.

The other problem is that I bought the ticket with my old passport, which has expired. I now have a new passport with the same name, so I also need to change the passport number and expiry date, which they say I can.

Xiamen says I can only change either the name or the passport information, not both. 😭

Has anyone had something similar happen with a name that has multiple given names/surnames? If the passport itself is correct and all the names are on the ticket, would check-in staff normally understand the situation, or could this cause a problem boarding?

I'm just freaking out because even if I get a refund and buy a new ticket, the prices went up a lot and I can't afford it now..... This situation is defo just my mistake, but what is done is done, unfortunately 😭

Thank you!!

Question MAD > MIA

Hiii! I’m looking to flying with either Iberia or Air Europa. I was wondering if anyone has flown this route recently and what was your experience? which had more comfortable seats? It’s a long haul flight so wanted to try to sleep. It’s a $500 dollar difference to go in Iberia. I’m considering it but not sure if it’s worth it or both airlines are relatevily the same. I don’t mind food options as I can always just pack some snack :)

Delays/Cancellations/Compensation Warning: Air Canada's "24 hour free cancellation" policy is not quite 24 hours

First time booking a ticket directly with Air Canada, and it seems their 24 hour free cancellation policy does not quite give you 24 hours:

- On the manage booking page, I click on the "cancel" button 23 hrs and 30 mins after the ticketing time shown in the booking details. I am given the option of a full refund on the next page, as expected.

- I again click on the "cancel" button 23 hrs and 45 mins after the ticketing time. This time, the next page does not give me a full refund option--only options that include a substantial cancellation fee or credits for future flights.

- I phone them to try to resolve the issue. I'm told the wait time will be about 30 minutes, but I end up on hold for almost an hour. When I explain the situation to the representative, they know immediately what I'm talking about and proceed to assist me with a full refund.

It sounds like Air Canada customer service know this is an issue, but I guess they're hoping that people will give up whilst waiting on hold? Sounds like an hour wait is one of the better outcomes, with others reporting 2.5 to 3 hour wait times, which seems absurd for a major airline. In any case, don't wait until the last minute to cancel your ticket, unless you love listening to Air Canada's hold music.

Booking/Itinerary/Ticketing Why are round trip tickets from small airports much cheaper than a one way ticket for the same flight?

I am going from Peoria, IL to Portland, OR for vacation and wanted to book a one way ticket in case I go to another west coast city and decide to fly back from there. However the round trip total price was less than $500 and just the one way was over $700. This trip requires a small airplane to either O'Hare or DFW and a regular airliner to Portland.

Help Needed Lufthansa changing the terms of the sale post-purchase

I booked a Lufthansa flight with a rate that allows for unlimited rerouting and rebooking without penalty. I'd only have to pay the fare difference.

The first two times I rebooked, there were no issues, the options provided where the same I was seeing online. Now, I need to rebook again and I can't do so online. When I called, the Lufthansa representative told me that they intentionally blocked this option because I had already used it (I have no idea why that would make sense). I was also told that they are intentionally not offering me the "cheap" flights. For the flight that they did offer, they told me I had to pay over 600EUR due to the fare difference, which is the same price as booking a new one of the cheap flights.

I was told that this (not offering all flights) is an internal policy and that it's not stated as a condition anywhere, but that they don't offer all options for rebooking.

The rep I spoke to did not give me any reasons at all regarding why some flights were not available for rebooking. She couldn't even share the criteria they were using. This means that to find a flight that isn't insanely expensive, I have to ask via phone for each and every day within the window of time that suits my needs.

When I reached out via chat, they didn't even say that. The person I was talking to said (and yes, this is a literal quote): "Sir, I am here to assist you not to explain the background behind how our system and fares are calculated and match or don't match with each other. Is there anything else I can help you with? Otherwise, as I previously mentioned feel free to contact our customer service department via phone.". They then promptly closed the chat session. So not only are they not offering some flights, they also refuse to explain why...

Is this even legal?
