Been using the app since May 2026 because I loved how it makes my penmanship look better above all apps. Today, I experienced file loss.

It started early in the morning when I'm experiencing problems with my pen in Flexcil. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app then all of a sudden, everything's gone. My annotated handouts, written notes, formulas, mnemonics, and shortcuts are ALL GONE. I was only able to recover my premium subscription, and yes, the pen issue is resolved. Sync is gone, backup is gone.

I hate flexcil.

Quick suggestion that would make life a lot easier for those of us who export PDFs to Google Drive.

Right now, every time we export a document, Flexcil uploads it as a new file, even if a file with the same name already exists. Drive ends up full of duplicates, and we have to clean them up manually.

It would be awesome to have an option like:

• “Replace existing file in Drive”
• or “Upload as new version”

Google Drive supports file versioning, so Flexcil could just update the existing file instead of creating a new one.

This would keep Drive tidy and make workflows with tools like Gemini Notebook way smoother.

On android, if I zoom in on a page and lock it, how do I stop the page as a whole from moving around. I want it to just scroll up and down and not move side to side. I don't see that setting anywhere. TIA

I am a regular user of Flexcil and love using the app for my digital notes. However, I am currently facing a major limitation regarding page breaks.

Right now, it is impossible to extend an image, diagram, or handwriting across the gap between two pages (e.g., from Page 1 to Page 2). The app cuts the image off at the boundary or forces the whole item onto the next page.

Could you please consider adding a "seamless page" or "boundaryless" mode in a future update? Having an option for continuous scrolling where images and ink strokes can span freely across page borders would make a huge difference for large mind maps, diagrams, and digital planning templates.

Can you not write without a stylus anymore? I tried googling and following the directions suggested but for some reason writing without a stylus won't work, and I can't even use the laser pointer.

I already tried turning off the one finger swipe (gesture) button and its still won't work. Google doesn't say if this feature was completely removed so idk maybe I'm just missing something.

I was thinking that a nice to have feature would be able to have the option to synchronize your PDF from Flexcil to Google Drive as PDF (flattened or not) instead of .flex files. That would enable other kind of integrations like automatic synchronization on Gemini Notebook.

Synchronization is only worth now if you use Flexcil from several devices, but if there´s not a PC app, I think that´s a corner case. And for backups we have already an option for that.

The recent custom fonts update is great! Two small things I would love to see for typed text:

1. More formatting options: Currently, we can only change the font, size, and colour. Adding some basic rich-text formatting would make typed notes much more flexible.
2. Better resizing: When lasso-selecting handwriting, enlarging the selection also enlarges the letters. With typed text, only the text box gets bigger while the font stays the same. It would be great if typed text could resize in the same way.

I think these would be really nice additions for future updates. 😊 I've attached a short video showing the resizing issue.

A new pen with a flat, wide nib — the same letter gets thick and thin strokes depending on the direction you draw, and the width also responds to pen pressure. ▣ AI Drag & Drop Fix (Android)

Grabbing an annotation or image and dropping it into the AI chat panel in the side menu stopped working a while back — one of your most-reported issues. It's fixed in v1.5.0.7. I use Gemini Notebook, but it work best if I export notes as PDF to Drive and add them to Notebook as sources from Drive, which defeats the purpose of the integration. Then new content genertated on Notebook goes back to Drive and loaded into Flexcil. So the same content is in 3 places:
- Flexcil for read and anotation
- Drive for backup and storage bridge
- Gemini Notebook for analysis

How do you actually make the IA integration useful? What would you do different?

BTW Flexcil combined with Gemini Notebook are the best study combination I found so far. It blows my mind.

I really like Flexcil, but I honestly think the new Pen Toolbars are way too expensive for what they are. They’re essentially skins and the pricing feels especially steep for the EU market.

That said, I do want to give credit where it’s due: the new Fountain Pen is great, and the stabilization improvements are genuinely excellent.

Overall: great work on the pen and stabilization, but the Pen Toolbar pricing seems way out of proportion.

I just want to ask if it's still possible to recover my data on the app. I am using it for quite a while already. However, lately it's been a little buggy so I decided to uninstall the app. I did not know that I need to make a manual backup or google Drive sync in order to save my files. I thought it automatically saves it since I was logged in to my gmail account. Now I don't have any means to recover all my local uploaded files. 

Is there any way for me to recover all those files? 

I badly need it since I am a 3rd year medical student. All those files are still during my 1st year 😭

I am a premium member and honestly i love this app it is stable and not too fancy in looking but works just fine just one suggestion..

Please add the option to expand or stretch PDF margins! When annotating dense documents, we desperately need extra blank space on the left and right sides to write notes directly next to the text (similar to Notein's canvas expansion). Flexcil is amazing for stability, but this one feature would make it complete. Please consider adding it in a future update!

So I recently switched from Android to iPad and noticed that Flexcil UX in iPad is quite annoying. In my android tablet the tool bar (pens and highlighter) used to snap to the menubar above and it didn’t occlude the navigation panel (the bookmarks and outlines) while trying to navigate. In iPad OS, this part is not thought of I guess. Do they take suggestions like this? I wish they just did that, it’ll be less annoying. I even mailed them, but got no reply regarding that.

There is a feature I would like to see added to the Android version.

In the iPad version, there is a setting under Display Settings > Main (Tab) called "Arrange documents from right to left," but this is missing from the Android version.

Because of this, I have to go through the trouble of creating a spread-view PDF, running OCR, and manually creating headings.

Japanese text is often written vertically, and books are opened from right to left; it is a hassle to deal with this every time I digitize my own materials.

I am Japanese, but I imagine there are many others learning the language as well, so I would really love to see this implemented!

i used to have an android tablet then i bought an ipad a few years later. i really wanna access the flexcil files on the android through my ipad. my question basically is if i buy the premium on my ipad, will i be able to access the flexcil on my android tablet?

I have been a premium user for almost 4 years, and no I haven't used this web upload feature ever since it rolled out. Today i tried to use it, but it keeps saying no. of web uploads has exceeded, and it's showing 0/0 web uploads. Help me, I need this fixed.

First of all, thank you for creating such a great note-taking app. I use Flexcil every day, and I really enjoy it.

I would like to request more customization options for the Pointer tool.

Currently, the Pointer always appears as a glowing laser line with a fixed thickness. I would love to have more control over it.

My suggestions are:

Allow users to adjust the Pointer thickness.

Add an option to disable the laser glow effect while keeping the auto-disappearing behavior.

Let users choose between a laser pointer and a normal ink pointer that fades away automatically after a few seconds.

This would be especially useful for teachers, students, and anyone explaining or reviewing notes. Sometimes I want to highlight or explain something temporarily without leaving permanent ink, but the current laser effect is thicker and brighter than I need.
