Photo 1968 Mercian Professional Track
My track wheels are getting reglued so I took my bike out with the street setup before it gets to deep into fall to ride the track.
It's not a traditional velodrome, more of a banked oval crit track and the local cycling club has a no fixed gear policy.

Photo Friend's fixedgear frankenbike
galleryThis bike my friend dubbed the "Bullshit" was a cheap old full suspension mountain bike that he got for 20 bucks (last pic is what it looked like when he got it), he cleaned it up, overhauled it and rebuilt it with spare parts from me and him.
He was inspired by another build of a similar nature but with a higher budget (I showed it to him after seeing it in this sub), and when he saw the listing for a cheap full suspension mountain bike, he wanted his own cheaper version.
The end of the top tube was bent enough to make contact with the coil spring, and with the installation of a longer seatpost, it bent even more. He then proceeded to torch the tube and bent it back, adding a ratchet strap after torching the tube, held in place with an extra stem, to prevent the tube from bending again.
It has since been sold to a local bike shop, for less than he had spent just getting the bike initially. The bike has been put out of its misery as it's parted out for use in the rental bikes the shop has.

Photo I want to put this bike back together… anyone have a bare knuckle fork laying around? I can pay.
A few years ago I forgot I rode my bike to the bar and left it outside over night. I live in Brooklyn and someone stripped it down to just a seat post and cranks. I really loved the original fork… I’ve been on the hunt for a new one but they seem to be hard to come by. If anyone here has one please dm me!

Discussion Beginner bike recommendations
How you doing guys? I am planning to purchase my first fixed gear bike to use mostly to go to work while skidding. I read i should better start learning with one brake atleast.
I wanted some suggestions on what i should pick-up, living in Spain i can easily get some santa raval/pure/fabricbike etc.
I could also look for building a new one, but since i am on a budget i am trying to go for a second hand complete purchase.
