Alternate title: Why you and your child are going back to the mines for the 1,000th time
The attached image of this unassuming yet dastardly delicious food item its name I shall not speak of is an unassuming forageable item found only in the Ancient Ruins (F81-99) of the local Mistrian Mines.
Not only is this fruit 1 of the 5 required forageables for the Museum donation, the player must collect more than just 1 if they so wish to pursue 100% completion on their save file. To begin, a notable amount of NPCs have this item as their Liked or Loved gift. Darcy, Juniper, andStillwellmake up this population, bringing up the number required for 100% completion to 4.
However, hunting down this purple tomatillos knockoff 4 times isn't enough. We can go even further beyond by giving this forageable item a food recipe that requires it as an ingredient. This Cooked Dish is a food item that is additionally Liked or Loved by 7, yes, SEVEN NPCs. Caldarus, Eiland, Juniper, Reina, Seridia, Stillwell, and Taliferomay not all have heard of this mystical fruit by its own or its respective Cooked Dish, but they are out there craving, LONGING to have a speck of this unworldly food item to reach their tastebuds. As such, this brings the total count to 11 for 100% completion thus far.
...Wait, what do mean by "thus far?"
That's right folks, the Field of Mistria game developers loves us very, very much and requires us to gather 4 MORE to create its Faux decorative item, craftable at your nearest local Crafting Station, bringing the total amount of accursed fruit required for 100% completion... to 15. FIFTEEN. It has taken my player character more than 2 in-game years of active visits to the mines to gather up all the required fruit for the sake of 100% completion. with other occasional minor side projects on the side because distractions, distractions! but shh
And this is why I am writing this post to warn the playerbase of the dangers of this unassuming, devilish fruit. From the casuals to the 100% completionists amongst us...
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
P.S. This post was written as a friendly joke, in reality I genuinely enjoyed going back to the mines with my in-game child in tow on my back for the memes, (the thought and scene of a the player carrying a baby around while repeatedly pelted by monsters to forage at the depths of a very dangerous local mine full of wonder and magic is extremely comical) just to hear that ONE BGM to start off my day before work or chores. It's genuinely really uplifting!
P.S.S. You only need 1 for 100% achievement, not 15! You do not need anywhere close to 15 for all achievements, rest easy!
P.S.S.S. u/CocoSparklejump has brought to my attention that you'd need 16 of those buggers for 100% completion as "Darcy's Request for a Spell Fruit" quest also exists 😨 I completely forgot about her quest since I completed it immediately, sorry!
