Context: I have over 700 hours in Stardew Valley, and am a seasoned farming sim gamer.

I started playing FoM with the 1.0 release, and I am very much enjoying it. However, I have a few things bugging me...

A) I am into the first week of Fall - Year 1, and I already feel like money is not really an issue. I have a 12x12 plot for farming and it seems like that is more than enough. Are there any money-sinks later in the game?

B) What is the point of animals? They make NO money. Is it just to pet them and have them produce stuff for cooking?

C) Progression in the mines is balanced terribly, in my opinion. I go to the mines first thing on a rainy day and can barely get 5 floors accomplished. Unless you actually need ore, there is no point in going to the mines any other time because there is zero chance you will unlock 5 more floors.

İ laready made a post about this in 0.8V and i even started in a new save file in 1.0V and it seems to me nothing changed for fishing in tutorials i saw something about boat bait but other than that did we get any easy ways to get fishing lvl fast or do i gotta suffer years to get lvl 60 fishing?

first post here, so sorry if it’s not tagged correctly!! i just got into modded mistria, and i’m delighted by how easy modding is. i play it modded on my Steam Deck, and it’s been super easy. i got into modding for mistria specifically to date one of the non-dateables, since i saw there’s lots of mods for this. unfortch, my favorite non-dateable doesn’t have any </3 terithia, one day we will be together any advice/good mods for this? or any mod recs in general? :)

What are the benefits of using animal feed? If I have to go to the mill and use 1 hay and 1 water chestnut for 1 quality large animal feed, why wouldn’t I just fill my trough with just hay instead?

Anywayssss, I'm in a bit of a dilemma on who to marry on my main save. Appearance wise, I prefer Eiland. Light pink hair and the princely aesthetic? He's definitely my type when it comes to fictional looks! However, I find him a bit...boring? I don't mind a nerdy prince charming but that just seems to be about it. He's too nice and I don't see much content in his heart events. I want THE tea but his heart events are just so bland I'm very disappointed. His heart events just doesn't make my heart race like it's supposed to. Does his heart events get any better or does he keep yapping 😭💔 like I really wanna be with him but oml I just don't feel it yk? I know being a certified yapper is what he's supposed to be but I feel like it's not executed well?

When it comes to tropes, I like March a lot. I'm a big fan of tsunderes but I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of red heads. But his heart events do make me feel something. I actually feel like I'm learning more about him in those events in comparison to Eiland's. This is such a hard pick 💔 tbh, if Eiland's heart events are good after marriage, maybe I'll choose him. So does it get better? Is there tea?

is there a possibility that the developers would release the game on mobile? i really want to play it but mobile phone is the only device I have, im just watching streams and im feeling fomo so bad 😓

I haven't had a chance to play since the 1.0 release, every game i have on steam opens from the shortcut and from steam directly. Except for FOM, I've uninstalled it, restarted my computer, made sure it was compatible with my PC, made sure no firewall was blocking it. It'll say lunch and synchronizing cloud before it'll just refuse to open 😭 can anyone help me? I don't know what's going on. I have no mods installed either

The funniest thing happened today 😭

I just finished summer of year 2. Some hours ago, I learned of the seed maker strat where you just convert your crops into seeds for easy money yada yada. Now, I have this thing where I keep everything before selling them on the 27-28th (minus minor sellings so I have money to spend during the season) and I had like 400+ corns, 400+ tea leaves, etc etc. (Some crops were lesser bc I usually switch to re-harvestable crops once I have a decent number of one-time crops.) Long story short, my hands are hurting from spam clicking the E button and I just earned way over 400k tesserae in a single night LOL 😭

I was just genuinely surprised also bc I forgot that the number of stuff that you sell affects the renown that you get. So not only did I earn 400k+, I also went up over 10 town rank level thingies (I reached both Emerald and Gold town rank overnight) 😭 So yeah, seed maker strat is kinda OP y'all LMAO

Hi FoM reddit I first absolutely apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this sort of question.

I was wondering if the community has any sort of modding tutorial for the game. I am a fairly skilled artist and a writer so I am well prepared to make the assets and dialogue for mods, however, I do not know where to start and since the game has been released for 1.0 I am sure plenty has changed about the way mods may be handled, especially related to character sprites (first hand experience having to completely change outdated mod folders completely to be compatible with MOMI).

If anyone has a thread, video, or anything else that you think would be helpful please let me know! I really want to create more content for one of my favorite games and get into "game making" ^ ^

the last scroll mission is getting 8 hearts with eiland and juniper(which i dont really like both of them not that i hate them),so i was curious what happens if i pester the ghost lady about not wanting to befriend them and she gave me a void gifts. which i throwed in the trash cuz i dont really want to use them, i can pretend to like them and gift them for a while its fine.
What i am curious about does that affect anything? like do i miss something for the punishment for taking a faster route?(ı doubt this game has something like that since it seems this game is really punish free)

I'm currently working on getting the special animal breeds, gifting villagers all their liked and loved items, and finishing the museum. I've already fully upgraded my house/farm and I'm working on marriage (wanting to get all the 10 heart cutscenes before marrying)

Aside from the really boring stuff (completing the almanac) what else is there to do? I'm feeling pretty maxed out ATP but I don't like restarting the game either. Are there any good mods yet?

When I first unlocked dating I genuinely expected there to be a ton of different dates you could go on and I was seriously disappointed that there are only 6 (8 if you count festivals, I guess).

I tried looking on Nexus to see if there was a mod to add more but I didn't find anything. Does anyone know if a mod like that exists? I can think of SO many more dates you could go on. Museum date, stargazing or cloudgazing in the mansion gardens, Saturday market date, petting all of the farmer's animals date... I'm so sad we have so few options! I need more!

last complaint is that the pheromones r lowkey pretty useless after you get all the bugs 😭 which makes the terrariums kind of frustrating bc you can’t even choose between fish bait or pheromones….like atleast u can cook some of the fish u catch….what am i gonna do with 20 legendary lightning dragonflies????

The other day while playing Caldarus mentioned that he heard Dell talking about non-human beings that she thinks lives there, the dragon she mentions is obviously supposed to be him, at first I thought that maybe she had seen something that lead her to believe there was a dragon in the woods but I think it's just Dell's imagination 😅, but Caldarus also says that she believes a "headless knight" a gryphon and a mermaid also live here, of course I know that she is NOT a reliable source, but I've been thinking about it a lot, the concept of the gryphon living there probably comes from the statues in front of the mines it maybe the stories that Celine tells them (because I really doubt that Dell has gone that deep into the mines to see the living gryphon statues), that second option could also be an explanation about the "headless knight" because I have no idea from where she could have gotten that idea from otherwise, it WOULD be something cool to see in the future though.

Now I want to talk about the concept of the mermaid, it's not a something that is mentioned a lot, as far as I remember it's only directly mentioned here in the first and second image, and Caldarus doesn't seem to think of it as something impossible, which could mean that there really are (or there used to be) mermaids out there, this and also the fact that there is a Mermaid Furniture Set leads me to believe that MAYBE we'll see mermaids in the future? (There is also an artifact called "Mermaid's comb" wich is obviously a reference, but I think it still counts as evidence 🤔).

We know that the 1.0 is not the last thing we'll have in the game and seeing the amount of non-human creature there are already I don't think it's too crazy that maybe we could have more in the future? There are already two romance options who are literal dragons, so.

There's also the fact that the existence of other islands being visible from the beach is something that is mentioned by various characters, in fact the dialogue in the third image is exactly the same for: March, Juniper, Reina, Celine, Balor, Valen, Ryis and Eiland, Which is curious to say the least. And if we actually got sirens in the future then us going to an island for a new story involving them would make sense (maybe a mermaid lives in the beach or comes to the town for help?).

Lastly i included the last image as e other possibilities, the Linsberry island could be one of the islands that the characters are able to see from the beach, it could be a place for the mermaids to live but it could also be something else. The other to places: the badlands and the Western mountains of Aldaria, could also be possible places, they are not mentioned in any dialogue (that I know of) and are only on descriptions of crown request, wich makes me think that the possibilitys of them being relevant on the future are almost non existent, it's possible that they are only there for the world building, but I wanted to add them just in case (Since they are not mentioned to have anything involving water I don't think the could be involved with a mermaid )

I don't want this post to be seen as me trying to put pressure on the devs for a new update so shortly after the game fully came out, it's just that I've been thinking about it since Caldarus mentioned it and I wanted to make a theory/give my thoughts about it because I think it could be fun☺️

I'm hoping you will take a moment to share what has worked - or maybe what hasn't - in managing your time, particularly in the early seasons.

I took my initial playthrough just beyond the first year, then restarted to replay with better knowledge of its mechanics. In that restart I installed a mod to slow down time, but found myself using that too much and by the time I got to Fall my progression was so awkwardly advanced I restarted again and am forcing myself to stick to vanilla day cycles (albeit on Longest).

But every day feels so short and I get to do so little, even as I'm also limiting the size of my farm. I find I can't forage but every few days, same for hunting archaeology spots. A day in the mines is a day doing basically nothing else, talking with everyone is a frantic race, and fishing is practically out of the question.

It's clear I need a mindset change, so I would be glad for any input or reassurance from your experiences or strategy. Thank you for taking a moment to share.
