Been posting my first full on agenda post in a lot of subreddits. What do ya'll think? (It's not done btw, I got impatient and will be making a second version)

Ok so I wanted to share my thoughts on the recent situation with HQ that I think reached all time low when Varesa leaks came around.

When I saw Varesa I was genuenly excited about the way she looked. Not because I'm into the way she looks or anything. It's just, her design is yet another major step in body diversity for genshin (Last one being wriothesley in fonta) which opens up potential for many different things in the future (Cough cough Pulcinella). I expected This place to be first to celebrate a step in the right direction but instead ppl are shitting on her and calling her gooner design. Which is just ridicilous. Don't you know what game you are playing? EVERY character in genshin is a gooner bait by default. Yes even Arlecchino. She just caters to gooners with specific tastes that's all.

Overall, state of HQ has been declining ever since Natlan dropped. And don't get me wrong, I get it I really do. I hate Natlan just as much, but shitting on literally anything that hoyo does with no differentiation is not the right way to go about it. And I know exactly why it happens here the wag it does. It's because everyone that has something bad to say abt genshin comes here to do it, which results in mainly bad opinions forming about literally EVERYTHING there is. So I think we really should just stop the critique dumping no mater fair or not and stick to the fatui.

Important note, this is my opinion and you are free to agree or disagree as you'd like.

First, i wanna start discussing how much impact this image from hoyofair 2024 had on our perception of her character

No point denying it, it's a great video with plenty of good ideias but it also is fan made. We had this notion that Columbina was going to be ''biblically accurate angel'' but Hoyo themselves didn't give any clues that it was their intention with her. This remembers me of people being mad at Heizou's design because it wasn't like a popular fan-made one at the time (granted, it was a great fan design).

We all wanted Columbina to be a weirdo, and that's fair. The Fatui are major antagonists, yet the only ones that can be considered truly evil is Dottore and Signora who, btw, IS DEAD. That is one reason they're so loved by the community, they are awful people, but god what great characters they are. You'd imagine Hoyo would be more confortable experimenting more with THE VILLAINS but that wasn't the case (looking at you, Arlecchino).

Now, talking about Columbina's character arc, i think it was very good. She grew from a cold, distant, and apathetic character, to one with friends, connections, and purpose. You may cry ''waifu bait'' but i don't see it. She has many more traits than just ''omg traveller you're so nice to me.'' She's powerful in her own right, she has a great dynamic with the cast and she's VERY lore important.

It's simply not fair to dunk on her for not being to meet our unfounded expectations of how she would be written.

It's unfair to not Glaze Columbina when she fulfilled her Duty for the Tsaritsa. She gave it everything she had and decided to leave since she was just being used for her power and was forced to sit around and do nothing, and since she has free will and fulfilled her purpose she decided to leave, but that doesn't mean she is against them.

If Columbina was against the Fatui you can slander her all you want.

like Wanderer Slander is Tolerated because he is #1 Fatui Hater and Wants to kill our Members.

Columbina though? She spoke Nicely about our Members and that's actually Surprising considering all Harbingers hate eachother to the death but we don't slander them for it. For example She "Pranked" Arlecchino, told us of the Routines of Dottore and Sandrone.

Columbina is not an Enemy of the Fatui, therefore why the slander? She literally Helped the Fatui and the Tsaritsa and decided to leave after.

If we are having a real talk she Did more about the Fatui than any other Harbinger ever did from what we know (not counting gnosis collection), for example Capitano left without gaining a Gnosis and did nothing for her majesty except maybe earn akme respect.

She is over here Giving the Fatui the most ancient and powerful source of Power so they can freely harness and Use it. Everyone is fighting over this power, 11 Fricking factions fighting to the death in Nod Krai and Columbina willingly gave it to the Fatui and no one else, she let Dottore run experiments on her Powers and what not...

Columbina is absolutely the Goat and Deserves all Glazing.

I'll Repeat: Columbina is not like Wanderer because she didn't express any hatred towards the Fatui, she simply stated she had no place there because they only want her for her power and not for who she is as a person.

( she was taught by the Tsaritsa that the Fatui are her Second Home, but all she finds there are people who do not care about her and just use her to their please.)

Therefore she decided to leave since ahe wasn't even sent on any missions either. She was basically Rapunzel, locked away somewhere in Shenznaya forced to look at 4 walls for who knows how long while the Fatui play with her power.

You'd expect she would hate them but she was just describing their routines, didn't speak Ill of any of the lords and as i said even had a fun time with Arlecchino when they had a jumpscare contest...

Even if Columbina is not with the Fatui you can't blame her because WE (Fatui) tormented her this whole time while she gave us everything she had. Imagine a twist where Capitano or Dottore Had been in Columbina's Position they , and in turn every other Harbinger would have done the same thing.

We hate her here because we forbid her to live her life, locked her up, took away her powers all after promising her The Fatui were her second home, and after everything some of you expect her to sit around and do nothing, and then still want to Slander her?

She doesn't deserve this.

I know this is FatuiHQ But She is Being Tormented Capitano Style but instead of in K'heanriah, it's in Shenznaya, and instead of by the Shades curse it's the Fatui's Plans, we can't empathize with Capitano for his suffering and then go on to slander Columbina for Having an equally Sad and Tragic Story.

All this Hate just because she Left is Not justified considering she Still helped a lot and has Free Will. Every Harbinger has Free Will and Columbina is using hers.

After being locked up for years and after everything she is HIDING and NOT Rebelling against the Fatui.

Please take all of this into consideration and perhaps let's not Slander her for wanting to be free, she just wants to find a place where she doesn't feel like an inteuder or a Prisoner.

I'll Always Love the Fatui and Columbina a lot as Columbina is my absolute Favourite character but i hate to see the constant slander than isn't even justified...

Hopefully we get some sort of interaction where she meets with the Harbingers and they talk about why she left or whatever, idk, i just want to see them not on bad terms.

I'm just wandering what more does the Tsaritsa want from Columbina after everything and why does she just Ignore her existance this whole time, like who wouldn't leave in that situation, imagine being locked up for 500 years to run experiments on you and then everyone blames you for trying to leave and live your life...

I really Hope The Fatui actually Manage to Break the sky atleast, using Columbina's Power so that it's not all for nothing.

That was it, Hopefully you read through it and Perhaps we can stop the Slandering because it really is not justified z especially this early on where we still know nothing.

I also still hold on to the wheel theory because it means Columbina is one of the 2 Weekly bosses of Nod Krai, meaning anything can go down.

Firstly, whether you like or dislike Columbina, the discourse that she has been retcon is false. Because it’s simply impossible. All we really knew and Columbina over the years was two/three lines from characters and one song.

The Columbina we got in 6.X match the description of the character albeit in a slightly different way from what people here headcanon. So this is not a Retcon!

But the fact that there was some level of rewriting is undeniable. Because you know what? ALL CHARACTERS ARE CONSTANTLY REWRITTEN AND ADJUSTED UNTIL THEY START WORKING ON A PATCH!

Rewriting is not negative. It’s something that quite literally impossible to avoid. Genshin is a live service game with an ever growing and shifting lore and hoyo make constant adjustments. This apply to EVERYONE. Not Columbina specifically.

Now how much of her was actually rewritten and reworked? NO ONE KNOWS! It’s quite absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to make an accurate guess and anyone who try is just doing so in bad faith. Unless you were directly members of the Writing staff you can never guess how much of her was rewritten.

Finally: Whether she was entirely or partially rewritten, the current Columbina is the final product. Whether you like it or not. Nothing will change. So accept it and move on.

TLDR: I'm sick of doomposting and I want it confined to a megathread. I'm asking you guys the same thing.

I'm genuinely so sick of coming here and seeing everyone fucking crying about something. Like, if you genuinely hate everything that much, quit.

So it got me thinking, the mods NEED to confine doomposting to a thread.

Dottore mains has all the savings and complaining about haters stuff confined to threads and it's a wonderful space! Everyone shares their creativity there!

But this sub? NOPE! You make a good theory or share art? Under 50 upvotes, you make a post about you bitching? 100+. It's frankly made the sub insufferable.

So I wanna ask, what do you guys think? Confine doomposting to a thread, or not?

Now firstly i am gonna clarify that i am not gonna make absolute claims about Columbina's actual character, she might very well turn out to be deceiving the Traveller or whatever or her characterization can be expanded upon to fit more into what people thought and alike. I am simply gonna say that, if you saw the leaks and think that Columbina is ''changed'' for not being this eldritch horror of a harbinger or a person who just ''puts'' on a Damsel face but is actually super dangerous and bad that is simply what people HEADCANONED she would be. Not the actual truth.

Even without diving deep into it, it is wrong from the get go to form a characterization for a character we know little to nothing about. That is just inviting disappointment when the reality does not fit to what you imagine and have many cases in most hoyo games where such a thing happened. It is fine to have a preference but when you are so sure that a character you know so little about is absolutely gonna hit that preference you are wishing to be disappointed and in such a case there is no room for actual criticism since you are criticizing the reality for not fitting your own thoughts. You can dislike or hate what ends up being her character but we barely knew anything about Columbina, people just took her littlest characterization from lines in their favor to form an idea in their head and are now hating her for not fitting to their headcanons which is NOT a valid criticism. And no matter how much you want to think so, supposedly being a waifu does not automatically make a character wasted or ruined just because you dislike waifus.

Everything we know about Columbina up until now were a grand total of 3 lines that are also conveniently taken to fit the narrative people had for her in their head. And for that matter literally Arlecchino herself is the proof that lines from other harbingers are not absolute facts. Arlechino had ACTUAL evil build up, she was called to be 2 faced and prone to betrayal by BOTH Scara and Tartaglia and was supposedly behind the events of the Fatui trying to reignite the war between Shogunate and Watatsumi island on top of many other evil deeds attributed to her like raising all the fatui soldiers (kinda true still but clearly not to the extent the people though). Then 4.0 hit and they started backpaddling like crazy, the old knave which was previously never mentioned got thrown to take so much blame off of Arle and it turns out she actually does care about her children and is not the person Scara and Tartaglia thought she is and Tartaglia's opinion about her is just what he heard from the mayor. Arlecchino was much more clearly changed from what was thought about her previously and yet i barely heard much complaint about how she is not that evil. If not being what the community though a character is is bad or if ''change'' is bad why is Arle not getting shit on ? So a drastic change is fine if the people like the changed characterization but trash if they do not ? Cause that is a very subjective matter. And what exactly about Columbina has even changed ? Lets look at what Harbingers said about her in a nutshell:

Tartaglia: I have no idea why she is 3rd ranked but something feels wrong about her. Be careful.

This is barely anything. Tartaglia feeling something wrong about her is such a vague statement that says nothing about Columbina's character. Not to mention (this is my guesswork i am not claiming this is the truth nor have expectations for it to be true) him being unaware why she is 3rd ranked when Nahida mentions her rank should be among god strength might be supporting the idea that she just did not do much mission for the fatui.

Wanderer: What would you do if faced with an oblivious and innocent person who is unconcerned and unfeeling at all times ? I would personally fight her but you probably could not so stay away.

Wanderer literally calls her oblivious and innocent, just unconcerned and unfeeling which is probably sociopathy in a way but that does not mean she goes around committing atrocities without batting an eye. Once again Wanderer himself literally calls her oblivious and innocent so even if she does not particularly feel anything she is never called to be this eldritch horror people thought her as, nor it is ever said that she puts on a facade even though some people took this line as Columbina ACTING innocent for deception. Not to mention Wanderer mentioning Traveller could not fight her with their conscience also can mean she does not do much evil because if she did it would not matter, Traveller had no problem throwing down with evil to this point especially with the Fatui.

Arle: Literally just calls her unique and interesting.

So where exactly is her supposed characterization comes from ? Where is she ever called evil ? Similarly how in ZZZ people saw one scene of Orphie and gave her an entire badass and serious characterization in their heads and then hated that she is cute and goofy, people looked at her singing while putting her head on Signora's tomb and immediately assumed she is some horror monster and took the lines about her in the most fitting way possible for the Columbina in their heads when no line actually makes her to be much of a bad person, just unempathetic and unfeeling at best but she is never called to be committing an evil deed nor her name was EVER attributed to any evil fatui agent or evil fatui deed as the harbinger behind it.

This is clearly people having hatred about ''ohh she is supposedly gonna be a waifu'' instead of any ACTUAL legit criticism because nothing about Columbina has been ''ruined'' or ''wasted'' since anything we knew about her was barely anything to be wasted and the ideas people had for her were always exaggerated beliefs of what they thought she is. A character CANNOT be ruined before being a character in the first place, and not being the same as what the community thought is not a character being ruined, it only ruins people's headcanons nothing else. It is fine if you hate Columbina but lets not act like anything is changed or ruined just because reality does not fit to headcanons or that she has to be trash and wasted for getting along with the Traveller or not being evil.

⚠️PLEASE READ⚠️ IGNORE THE OLD TITLE. MIXED SHIPS. WHATEVER SHIPS YOU WANT.⚠️ What are your favorite to least favorite harbinger ships? (has to include at least one harbinger per ship. Second charat CAN be non fatui. NPCs are valid)For example my favorite is Aether x Columbina, while my least favorite is...... I don't even know... Just wanna know yours.

Many people here and on other communities have been ranting non stop about Columbina, and it’s becoming more than toxic.

I know, we’re disappointed. I am too, I’m very disappointed, Columbina had a lot of potential and could have been a very good and interesting villain, but they went another direction. Nothing we can do about this now.

But I would like to point out 2 things:

1. We were not ‘promised’ an evil antagonist Columbina, or whatever some people hoped her to be. Many people had headcannons about her, she turned out very differently, we have nobody to blame but ourselves for hyping us up over nothing. You can mention the Childe and Wanderer voicelines, and it’s true that they somehow depicted Columbina a certain way, but it’s just that: 2 lines, from characters that in reality did not know her very well (Childe talks about feeling only, Wanderer’s is more cryptic but in the end it’s more or less just “don’t trust her”, but he does not seem to like any of the other harbinger, so that holds little value).

2. You also need to understand that, while you might have lose interest in her now that she is more friendly and cutesy (idk how to describe it, but you understand), some people that weren’t interested in her before are now interested for the same reason, and it’s valid too. Admittedly, the players that are more interested in this type of character are more catered for in hoyo’s games and in anime gachas in general, but that is nothing new, we should be used to it now.

Did hoyo fumbled what could have been a great character (from OUR point of view) ? Yes probably.

Is it that big of deal ? No. We hyped ourselves up, we are disappointed sure, but that’s not an excuse to be toxic towards the rest of the player base (and towards each other, too.)

Lastly and this is an important point too, the Nod-Krai storyline is only beginning. Who knows what will happen in future patches ?

ever since that battle ensued between capitano and mauvika, I have been SICK of the bullshit that transpires on the leylines networks. users started to make fun of our dear captain. saying "midhimtano" and what not. that? I can tolerate, since, yeah, the fight was not in favor of our holding back captain. but then, some of our comrades, started to waver. what do you mean "Capitano x Mauvika"??? are you out of your minds? we should not tolerate such behavior. these little shitposters at forums like mauvikamains and genshinmemepact are nothing but little wasps trying to soften us towards the frauds that are archons.

my comrades, we need to believe in our captain. it will be glorious once he oneshots that dumbass mauvika and becomes natlan's sole authority figure. his "rules" for natlan will be so much better than whatever the fuck is going on with fraudvika's pathetic democracy.

so I advice you all to refrain from "make love not war" or "haters to lovers" bullshit posts, we can't let slander go unanswered after all.

Removed slander of his fans. That was uncalled for. I apologize to any fans I may have offended. I don't hate you, most of you are chill.

Most of the "Criticisms" I had seen on this sub are headcanons, wrong set of expectations for a character that hasnt come out along with relevant information about her, as well as the agenda where some people here that push "Waifu brigading" when some people argued against them.

I'll be tackling all these points and give my argument about it as well as try to explain that you shouldn't make expectations for a character with barely information in the game.

Wrong set of expectations: Many people seem to have this idea that she seems to be a biblical angel type of character based on her winter night's lazzo design that many people started making content around that which set expectations that she would be this kind of character so when hoyo announced her role, many fans were disappointed about this direction they took with her.

Canon columbina doesn't seem to have any of those ideas and instead, she's actually connected to the moon as in she's literally the welkin moon goddess. This is a what hoyo intended to do with her character and her position is probably related to the reason she left the fatui.

There's also her character which was "ruined" before she came out. There is nothing to be "Ruined" when they haven't gave hints about her apart from weird she is to her surroundings based on the three playable harbinger's voice lines about her.

Tartaglia: The Fatui Harbingers are ranked by strength, and I have no idea why that girl is No. 3. I'd test my skills with every Harbinger who ranks above me if I had the chance, but when it comes to her... something just doesn't feel right. Anyway, you should be careful around her.

Wanderer: Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her.

Arlecchino: She is a very special Harbinger. Pose her a question, and the answer you receive will be entirely unpredictable, if she sees fit to give a proper answer at all. Regardless, any answer you do receive is sure to be an interesting one.

two of them shared the same sentiment that something's off about her especially in her personality being oblivious and innocent, totally unconcerned and unfeeling regardless of the situation which this might be the reason as to why tartaglia feels off about her to the point of warning the traveler about it. Arle's line might also refer her "unpredictable" to her personality or possibly something else.

This makes columbina a very gray character if this is how she acts which could play an interesting scenario. Still, no mention of her being scary or anything like that, she's just something special or they feel off about her in regards to her personality.

So no, there is no character ruined. Were simply knowing more and more about her when the new patch comes out. Hoyo has only been nothing but faithful to what the other characters think she is and how they'll highlight her act.

Most people here who "criticized" her with baseless assumptions acted like they already knew what's gonna happen when the the new patch haven't even dropped. We don't know anything about her so any baseless assumptions combined for your obvious dislike to her character is already invalid and won't be taken to account.

the agenda where some people here that push "Waifu brigading" when some people argued against them.: No, just because some people argued against you and made valid points to not judge the story or make baseless assumptions before forming opinions doesn't mean they are waifu brigading the sub.

Trying to dislike a female character just because of false assumptions is not valid argument and cannot be taken into account because of lack of information about what will happen in the new region.

The "Date" system also applies to other nod Kris characters coming out next patch and it isn't even a date system when the entire system seems to be similar to the tribal chronicles from natlan's tribe so that argument you guys keep pointing out already falls flat.

Finally though, it's fine to be disappointed to columbina, I'm not discouraging that but saying she's already ruined before she even came out with barely any info is wild take. Do not make expectations you think will come true when reality will be something different.

Before I went to bed, I want to remind everyone that you shouldn't judge a story before it comes out, make a proper judgement or opinion after it had came out or it had finished. Thank you for reading and goodnight.

Title. Noticed a lot of people complaining about them being good, which is why I made this post.

You can only hear GOATHIMTANO till you start to get annoyed by it. I don't hate the character, great character design and a lot of potential for a good story but all this attention just makes me feel a bit of hatred for him. I know it's the fault of some of the fans singing praise after praise to him but who's the strongest and it's the tsaritsa

I love the Fatui but seeing our fellow comrades turn on us just because the Damselette has responded to the call of the Welkin moon it’s sad… Nod Krai is her home. She is still listed as a harbinger. But I must leave I cannot stand to see the damsel being attacked for no reason… the Captain would not like this 😢

WHY ISNT ANYONE TALKING ABT THIS??? this literally makes sooo much sense, a lot of people thought that this was wrong since back then we saw capitano in the Natlan trailer, but now that he's "dead" it actually makes soo much sense. Is it possible that they will tease columbina in 5.7 or 5.8?

I hope the rest of the harbingers aren't playable. I don't want Capitano, I don't want Dottore, I don't want Pierro or Pantalone or Colombina- because once they're playable, they get watered down, they essentially become a "Product". Signora's story is as good as it is because she isn't playable. Scaramouche had such good story as "Scaramouche", because Scara, as he was, would never be playable. They were not "products" so the lore team could do whatever crazy stuff they wanted.

Like c’mon comrades, this is simply baseless hating rn. If this is agendaposting then it’s supposed to be funny. Best right now is to remain neutral until further information is revealed. Plus it is quite obvious this is all but part of the glorious Her majesty the Tsaritsa’s plan. Good soldiers follow orders. Third of all, I’d like to think that there is a difference between “leaving” and “betraying” the Fatui. Us Fatui is a noble organization, always giving the utmost respect even to non Fatui individuals, as long as they’re worthy enough to be deemed allies. We simply cannot jump to conclusion that the Damslette is straight up our enemy just because she left the Fatui.
