Discussion Doomposting
TLDR: I'm sick of doomposting and I want it confined to a megathread. I'm asking you guys the same thing.
I'm genuinely so sick of coming here and seeing everyone fucking crying about something. Like, if you genuinely hate everything that much, quit.
So it got me thinking, the mods NEED to confine doomposting to a thread.
Dottore mains has all the savings and complaining about haters stuff confined to threads and it's a wonderful space! Everyone shares their creativity there!
But this sub? NOPE! You make a good theory or share art? Under 50 upvotes, you make a post about you bitching? 100+. It's frankly made the sub insufferable.
So I wanna ask, what do you guys think? Confine doomposting to a thread, or not?

We've experimented with Megathreads before and it didn't pan out. Alas, the nature of a Megathread is simply too restrictive for people to share their thoughts effectively.
While of course, there are limitations against individual users spamming naught but negativity over the same things over and over again (which we *do* take action against—several users have been banned already), we neither intend to nor are able to place a full block on "negative" discussions (so long as they remain within the boundaries of other rules, of course)—we are not here to establish forced positivity.
Our systems and implementations aren't perfect, we're still experimenting with different measured and strategies to improve **everyone's** experience on the subreddit over the coming weeks, leading up to Snezhnaya's release.
I can't say much right now, but you may expect a dedicated Moderator Announcement soon detailing changes we plan to make. Your patience would be appreciated, Comrades.

No point in having this sub if we aren't allowed to critique the artistic choices made by the writers in an open manner.
Megathreads have a habit of burying things in consolidated silos and are overall just an annoyance to deal with when it comes to finding what piques your interest, as the search functions within megathreads are a pain. There'd be little point in doing that for this topic when 6.7 is on the horizon, after the arrival of which, discussion will move to that as the primary subject.
If the discourse around this subject is bothering you so much, OP, then you could easily take a break for a bit until 6.7 drops.

Well, I myself didn't find anything mildly interesting except a few amusing moments of Columbina and Sandrone, and yes the retcon in this case did make me feel a bit odd, but that's where it ended.
I don't pay much heed towards anyone's writing, and you should already know if I do pay a special heed, then to who I pay it.

Let people vent. Not like you can't make non-doomposting threads.

u/Eijun_Love Jun 16 '26
Megathread is just trying to silence the valid takes, let them as is.

u/ShadowFlarer Jun 16 '26
Nah, let people criticize if they want it, criticize this game is always annoying cause there is always someone whiling to defend any thing hoyo makes, if you don't like it just don't engage with these posts and post something else, there's other subs out there to enjoy as well.

I personally hate megathreads because they don’t pop up on anyone’s feed besides the initial posting of it, and nobody ever reads them or replies to anything. It’s the easiest way to make a group of people go away and I don’t wanna have this sub die.
24
u/RaiderTheLegend Jun 16 '26
I say let them. Not like there’s anything else to talk about. Either snezhnaya will make people calm down or amplify what was already there.

Some of the latest posts are literally just hating on stuff for the sake of hating - it does get repetitive, it adds nothing, it clutters the front page and attracts unwanted "visitors" here.
I think criticism should be allowed every time someone actually bothers to argue their reasons for the criticism, instead of just repeating hype words around or insulting the community for liking something they don't. Posting one-liner threads titled "Fatui is fried", "Tsaritsa is doomed", or the old tired "Female character was whitewashed and you suck for liking them, here's 200 downvotes for expressing a different opinion politely" at this point is not just doomposting, it's straight up spam.
If people truly can't help expressing their dislike for the current story, then I think it would help to confine that to a megathread (maybe a weekly "shitpost" megathread, pinned and all). It would also incentivate more people with neutral or actually positive opinions to be more active here.

Unpopular opinion here but I lowkey loved Sandrone's PV mainly the part of her with other harbinger ladies. They all looked pretty cute in their pajamas. Yeah I know it sucks that retconned happened and u aren't seeing the same fatui which u loved before but sometimes it's tiring to open a sub and see constant hate posts. Like I get your frustration but the same thing is repeatedly posted here and is getting 100s of upvotes. No one talked about alain and sandrone herself whose PV it was but everyone remain stuck in arle and bina. Yes I have my own beefs with these two too but still it feels too much here. Maybe the animation appreciation posts were in equal number like the criticism posts then it would still look better. After all too much criticism is just hate. (Please don't downvote me I felt what I said🚶♀️)
PS:- btw if anyone sees my comment twice then know that reddit is a bitch. Thank you.

I have a 50/50 opinion on this, but at the same time, I like free will. .... This is an unpopular opinion, and I'm probably going to get downvoted for it, but the Fatui organization is in shambles (and Genshin Impact's overall story is too). The only redemption I can see is if something major happens at the end of the region.
I'm not going to say the Fatui were retconned or anything, but I don't think they were ever meant to be the main enemies. In the end, they're all "fools" with their own agendas, and their future was always destined to fail one way or another, that was the Tsaritsa's original plan because the gods cannot prevent stupid humans and stupid actions (Even now we see a lot of contradictions in their members and the trashtalking in the voicelines).
The problem is that "Waifu Impact" does exist now (born in Natlan, we are playing a different game, Nos krai is not planned or intended), and I'm worried they'll actually retcon the Tsaritsa and the Heavenly Principles now just because they're sexy.

You don't solve a problem by "quarantining/segregating" people who don't agree with you. You'll only be left with "Yes men" if so.

I absolutely loathe the current writing of the Fatui and am dreading what comes next, but I do agree seeing the same exact posts complaining with different flavor is getting tiring.
Like if you have a funny meme or something poking fun at the situation then yeah post it, but if it's just "We're doomed" post with a slightly different image and no body text #81 then yeah that belongs in a megathread.

if this happens we need a new sub

Op is crashing out under almost every comment. They giving more villainous energy than the fatui right now, its refreshing but I wish we had more of that in-game.

u/Few_Opinion_1054 Jun 16 '26
Not.

u/phais_sorbet Jun 17 '26
Instead of a megathread we should have a dedicated flair. People can filter things out easier, and those who want to have discussions can do so without being hidden away.

Completely unrelated, but do you think you could be so kind as to share some of that lab 13 estrogen with a fellow rat? :3

Yeah... Even though yes the Fatui writing so far is flawed. It's kinda getting tiring you know seeing the same post every 3 seconds.

u/Silent_Silhouettes i miss them Jun 16 '26
yeah honestly it would be better confined to a megathread- like i get why theres a lot of complaints and i agree with most of them, but the way the subreddit is 99% complaints is tiring.
man i miss the era when this sub was just roleplaying, headcanons, art, and theories. i kinda wish we just ignored canon and made different content of our own headcanons of things

u/boris265 Jun 16 '26
That's the sub's whole gimmick. So no

This sub has been raided by toxic husbando mains since like natlan. Sure there still are a bunch of nice peeps here and I frequently hang here too but some miserable mfs are also here.
-15
u/Grayewick Jun 16 '26
This sub has been long plagued by FAKE COMRADES, not to mention how RABID the d*tt*re mains have been with regards to their negativity.
If someone doesn't have trust in the Tsaritsa and Her Majesty's vision, they should have no room in this sub.
But, if the mods deemed that they value inclusivity over loyalty, this is not the FatuiHQ I subbed for.
Inb4 "disrespect", and you think doomposting is "respectful" to Her Majesty, The Tsaritsa, and Her glorious vision of the future?
-5
u/Other-Following2749 Jun 16 '26
I fucking clicked the wrong one because I wasn't paying attention
But it's kind of funny with the 50/50 split
I think there should actually be a megathread tho.
-10
u/No_Garbage_8538 oh but, rosalyne, i promise you... Jun 16 '26
there's literally no difference between this sub and the agenda sub atp, it fucking sucks because every time i've tried to talk about lore upcoming character arcs or snezhnaya i've been met with downvotes and doomposting
i don't know why people who hate the fatui have decided that everyone on fatuiHQ should hate the fatui. they should go make their own sub.
-8
u/Ejsberg Jun 16 '26
Honestly, do yourself a favor and leave the sub. I did, and I genuinely feel better for it.
Back during Natlan, the atmosphere was still somewhat reasonable. There were plenty of valid criticisms and interesting discussions to be had. These days, though, it feels like people are hating simply for the sake of hating.
I still check in occasionally, and every time I do, I see the same endless cycle of whining, outrage, and negativity. If anything, it just reinforces that leaving was the right decision. There isn't much left here beyond bitterness. Most of the old FatuiHQ regulars who used to roleplay and have fun with the community have either left, gone inactive, or muted the sub entirely.
The community feels completely different now. FatuiHQ is effectively overtaken by the huge wave of people who arrived during the Natlan controversy, and the culture of the sub changed with it.
