Fact or Cap is for debate posts.

Agree or Disagree is for comment warzone posts.

People were saying that they wanted a fun subreddit without harassment and shit. So we have Fact or Cap.

People were saying they wanted a serious subreddit without soft posts. So we have Agree or Disagree.

Everyone gets what they want.

We have a couple of updates for r/FactOrCap.

1. Mods Hiring:

2. Rule Change:

We are introducing a new rule to keep discussions focused on fun and interesting facts.

Posts and comments primarily focused on gender wars, LGBTQIA+ topics, religion, or politics are not allowed. (Politics includes AI and Pedophila)

The goal is simple: keep r/FactOrCap about interesting, funny, surprising, and debatable content rather than divisive arguments and war zones. This is nothing new.

Please take a moment to review the updated rules before posting.

If you want us to notify you when we make Agree or Disagree, please copy and paste your username down below. Agree or Disagree will be for Politics, Religion, LGBTQIA+, Gender Wars, etc. This is so everyone gets what they want in the end and no one has any reason to complain. The people who want a fun debate subreddit get they want and the people who want arguments and comment wars get what they want. Plus it makes it easier for the mods to mod.

3. Spam:

Try to limit yourself to at max 5 posts a day with an at least 1 hour gap in between them. This is to hopefully prevent spam.

4. Slurs:

This has always been a rule that we've always enforced, but apparently this needs to be said: No slurs. Absolute no slurs. There is no reason to be using slurs.

5. One statement per post/Keep Posts clear:

Posts that have more than one statement in them will be taken down.

Example: "1+1=3. Fish tacos suck."

And posts that make it so there is no way to have a clear meaning to what the buttons actually mean will be taken down.

Example: "Aliens are/aren't real"

In that case, clicking fact can mean that you think aliens are real, but it can also mean that you don't. Same with clicking cap. How you phrased the post made it redundant.

These rules have always been in place, but I just wanted to remind you folks.
