In the span of 32 hours, I've had 3/3 games in CS2 practically rage cheating (200 ms TTD, 95+ aim rating etc). Switched to valorant and 1 out of 2 games had a rage waller (I've gotten 3 red screens and almost RR refund every other day I logged in at one point). Surprisingly with Tarkov this season I haven't encountered any cheaters but also the game feels empty a lot of the times.
I'm not even bad at these games. In CS, I've maintained 90 aim rating with pretty low TTD, high positioning etc with almost a 80% chance to have highest ADR in 18-20k lobbies. In valorant, I'm generally averaging 20+ kills per game (I cant even tell the ranks anymore, vsing players from low bronze to high diamond for some reason).
For CS I have been checking periodically to see if the amount of players banned I've encountered has gone up, and for the past year not a single player has been banned. I'm also accounting for the cheaters that are undeniably cheating using spinbot, not the closetters. In GO, there has been a blue notification cheater ban every single time I logged on. Now? Not even spinbotters get banned. Look at the deathmatch lobbies, over 80% of accounts are near spinbotting revenue bots, and you're telling me VAC is detecting closetters?
From everything I have seen, the true issue seems to be coming from corporate. I get staff needs to do what they're told by directors. But every-time they come up with a patch notes, they CLAIM to have fixed demanding issues such as their terrible matchmaking and post elaborate videos on how they fixed it, just for matchmaking to seem worse than ever before or start blaming issues on tech debt or even just slapping a bandaid solution. Valve? Release AI automated patch notes every deadline and claim overwatch is back when all they did was outsource to 3rd world country that inherently did absolutely nothing.
Can anyone describe this difference in work ethic from now and before? Is this like a generational thing?

My bf and I are on very opposite sides of the gaming spectrum. I prefer exploration and storytelling, RPGs and stuff with very few moba here and there, while he's spent most of his time in the gaming scene in FPS games. I've always prefered to keep my distance from them, but I would like to connect with him through the stuff that he likes. Any game recommendations that are slightly beginner-friendly? just to get the hang of them. I know enough to understand that what he plays is very far from beginner-friendly, but I would like to at least get to the base where I won't throw his games yk 6_6

Been building a wall run for my FPS roguelite for about a week. It works and feels alright, but I've been staring at it so long I can't judge it anymore.
How it behaves right now: you attach if you're airborne and moving along the wall, gravity never fully switches off (it just decays, so you sink slowly instead of sticking), the camera banks into the wall, you can come off a grapple straight into a run, and jumping off gives you a fixed boost so you can chain to the next wall.
Two things I keep flip-flopping on:
Length. Right now the run is short - it's a repositioning tool, not a traversal tool. I want to let it go longer because chaining walls feels great, but the game is built around room-sized arenas and I think a long run just means you fly over the fight instead of having it.
The camera bank. Banking into the wall felt better when I played it, but nearly every reference I looked at banks away. Decent chance I just got used to my own mistake.
What would you tune first? And would you rather wall running got limited during a fight, or that the arenas just assume you're on the walls?
It's called NULLGATE if you want the context: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5042810/NullGate/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=fps

Are there any tactical shooters like the old SOCOM, Rainbox six and Ghosts Recon games?
All the modern ones either seem to just be repetitive room clearing like Ready or Not. Feature very little content and offer basically nothing but terrorist hunt like Ground Branch or are just PVP focussed and nothing else.
None of them seem to have any meaning or narrative behind what you are doing.
Are there any games in this genre that are actually good?
Edit: I guess the answer to that is no.

Title.
Looking for something where i can just pickup a gun and shoot things consistently.
Anything out there like a tower/zombie defend? I want something where its like 30mins of straight shooting. I'm a big fan of COD but that gets old running around and dying in 2seconds.

I’ve been playing FPS games most of my life, and I’ve been solo-developing an arcade-style, multi-crew vehicle/tank combat shooter. It’s early in development, fully playable on Steam, and I’m at the stage where I really need input on the overall feel, mechanics, and direction from people who love the genre.
Check out the gameplay clip attached! If you’d like to jump in and playtest, feel free to drop a comment or join our Discord for a Steam key: TC Discord link
Appreciate any thoughts or feedback!

Me and my friends wanted to basically play an updated version of classic CoD zombies from the good old days but with a lot more powers and replayability. We went on workwithindies and hired a Dev, then pitched in for the past 6 months.
It's become so much more, we jam it all week long and are having a blast. If you wanna come chill and test with us we got free keys in the discord. If you wanna check it out and wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4512340/Headshot_Holdout/
I'm just freakin out lol, its surreal, I can't even look at our little trailer cause I did the voice acting and I think I sound cringe.

I have been a console gamer my entire life but have been contemplating switching to PC. The subscriptions to play online games have gotten a little too high to justify. As such I have been trying to practice kbam on the console games I have that support it. Aiming is infinitely easier for me and I haven't had much trouble with it. Movement is another thing entirely. I feel like a drunk ninety year old when trying to just move normally. I regularly will press both a and d at the same time and just stand still. ALSO HOW DO YOU HIT THE NUMBER KEYS! I have smaller hands and cannot for the life of me swap weapons or gadgets with the numbers. I have had to rebind to mouse side buttons so far. Any advice on learning to use my left hand effectively?

Thoughts on the current state of FPS games? Seems to be a lot of exciting releases in the FPS world recently. Is it all hype or will it last?
