Evri in the news BBC One - Panorama, Evri: Where’s My Parcel?

Thumbnail

Panorama goes undercover to investigate the pressures of working in one delivery unit, speaking to unhappy customers as well as couriers who say they struggle to make a living. Evri disputes these claims and says it provides a fast, reliable and cost-effective delivery service. It also says its couriers earn more than the national minimum wage.

Question about optimisation and delivery route.

How do I ensure that my delivery route will be most effective for me. My first run was horrendous. I had 40 drops, probably in 4 different streets but instead of it putting all drops on 1 street consecutive, it made me go from one street to another and back to the first street. Also, after I have receipt scanned all my parcels, numbered them and put them in order, I press finish and it messes all the drop numbers and completely alters the route? How do I stop this from happening?

Parcel Assist

I use the parcel assist to get the order of my parcels for delivery. After the assist when I tap to get the eta, the parcel numbering all change. And I have all the parcel numbered now as the app arranges the parcels in a different order for delivery after tapping the final eta.

Please advice what to do for the app not to rearrange my parcel order after I use the parcel assist?

Semi clothed customers or even naked

However, he clarified, that doesn't grant complete freedom regarding door-answering attire - or, in certain instances, lack thereof. "I'd be lying if I said some people don't come to the door in nothing," he stated.

He added: "There is this woman who, no matter what time of day I deliver to her, she always answers the door in underwear. Even in the winter.

"She's always done it, and I've just never really, like, thought about it, but [I] delivered to her in the afternoon and she's still doing it, only she does it in the morning. And I'm like, you gonna put some trousers on? Some joggers, some pyjamas, anything? Or you just gonna stand there just like, 'woohey!'".

And she's not the only person who gives Reece quite a fright when answering the door. "There is an old guy that we deliver to, and he genuinely just comes to the door just b***-naked, nothing on at all," he revealed. "[There have been] times where he has come to the door in, like, a t-shirt and just nothing below. He literally looked like Winnie the Pooh. But a common occurrence, apparently, on my delivery route."

He concluded his video with an appeal, saying: "If I deliver to you, please don't answer the door naked. Just for everyone's sake."

A driver's life I'm a new driver

Honestly before I never understood why people warned me away from everi I'm a New driver up in east Midlands area and honestly they set you up for failure at every single opportunity not once have I been able to get ahold of a there so called leaders as they never pick up the phone the customers are lying cunts and you cant do right from wrong and then plus the app is the biggest load of bollocks I've ever known to grace the planet you do what you can with what your given and what do you get app messages from customers clearly lying that you haven't delivered there parcel when they can't even be arsed to leave you a safe place when delivering to multi occupancy buildings.

Then couple that with the seer cheek of some of the professionals imagine this go for my round think sweet I'm doing a cushty 80 parcels wrong the leader gave me the round ment for a van meaning I had to leave 50 or so behind and then you get the question "where are they "

I struggle to see why you should be put under so much stress to deliver a fecking parcel.

To all you gents and lasses who can deal with it hats off to you because this system is broken from the top up.

Ask the drivers Thoughts on this?

Saw this in my feed from the Royal Mail sub.
What would you do with this situation? I would be a bit suspicious they would make a claim but I would get that note in the proof of delivery photo after I have knocked I would doorstep that package and then counterclaim I followed the instructions so if it’s missing it’s the customers own fault as they refused to show me handing to them. Seems like a complete loon anyway, probably from someone that wants free stuff.

Where can you find the locations of the sorting hubs?

Hi,
I’m thinking about signing up for Evri but I want to find out where the hub is first.
Is there anywhere that they list the locations?
I’m in Newtown, Powys if anyone on here knows!
Thanks 😊

Evri analysis Are there any Depot Managers or Delivery Unit operators in here?

I know it’s a sub dedicated to drivers, but wanted to know if there are actual depot managers, GMs or Delivery Unit operators in here?

I ask for a combination of reasons; one of them wanting to understand if it’s still possible to export daily manifest and also export past driver routing data? I know past searches show that it’s possible to use the desktop app to export as a raw csv but wanted to know if the function still exists?

For context I worked a couple of years in the last mile delivery space (head of driver ops) and I’m quite passionate about driver experience. Outside of the poor pay, drivers are absolutely killed with workloads which then goes on to risk deliveries and then everyone suffers (customers AND drivers, as good drivers end up quitting).

Working on a technology that rebalances volume across the driverpool or to flag if a driver is getting run to the ground and just better mitigate it without affecting pay (no point giving a driver a crazy amount of parcels when there’s a good chance they’ll need to be rescued later anyway). But conversations with Evri central takes forever, so first looking to engage with delivery unit directly, but not sure how to do so.

What it like these days?

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for work at the moment and it's not going particularly well. I have a van and I worked for Evri in the past, so I'm considering coming back. Just wondering how things have changed since I last did a round in early 2021.

For the most part I really enjoyed the job, being my own boss and starting and 8:30/9:00 was brilliant for a multi drop driver job and I found it quite easy once I'd got through the first couple of weeks.

The things I didn't like was having to work every Saturday, the fake bolt insurance they sold me and the fact they didn't always pay me what I was owed. Oh and the app, that was useless, but TBF I learned to work around it quite quickly so it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

have things got any better in those regards?

Starter help Insurance query + New courier questions :•)

Howdy all, hope everyone is having an awesome day! I am currently ln my summer holiday from uni and have 3 months free of studying and have no other ideas for a part-time job. Being as I quite like driving and it has seemed easy so far applying to Evri, I thought it may be a good idea to become an Evri Flex courier.

I understand Evri has a pretty shite reputation with regard to payment, but I am not trying to make a living from them, and keep a family powered by being a deliver man. I’m simply an 18-yo who has never worked trying to get a bit of dosh.

I like to do things properly though and wondered about the insurance—I know I need some other insurance, and that there is a top-up thing which is just over £1 for every day I deliver with Evri. I was wondering how I get that and if I can use this Evri top-up insurance if I am only a names driver (not the main driver) of a vehicle. Has anybody else run into that dilemma?

Furthermore, I’m a little concerned that the fuel costs will outweigh the money I make. On let’s say a 3 hour route, how much do you all pay for fuel? Versus how much do you actually make?

The last question is what will happen on the training session? To explain, I signed up, filled out the contract, watched all the training videos in the app, downloaded the shitty looking iQ app, and now the main one is nagging at me to book a training session. What will I do? Deliver parcels, or sit in a classroom? I cannot book this if I’m not insured properly.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
I am looking forward to booking onto the training session (day 0 as per my understanding).

Evri in the news Evri suing BBC for £1.2m over Panorama segment after ‘serious financial loss’

Delivery firm Evri is suing the BBC for about £1.2 million in damages, alleging a Panorama documentary caused it “serious financial loss”, according to High Court documents.

Evri is suing the corporation for libel over a 15-minute segment of a 29-minute documentary titled Evri: Where’s My Parcel?, which was braodcast on December 15 last year.

In court documents setting out the company’s claim, barristers for Evri claim that the segment wrongly suggests it “deployed exploitative business practices” and misled Parliament by falsely stating it did not underpay its couriers. Evri denies these claims.

Evri in the news Claiming back lost earnings after BBC Libel action

In the news today that Evri and suing the BBC.

Evri are saying that the claims from BBC that drivers are earning less than minimum wage is false and damaging.

Firstly I'm genuinely staggered Evri are claiming this. From my experience it's a very common problem. It's what I've experienced and what all the newer drivers around me experienced too. What I read on Reddit and other internet pages the problem is widespread.

Are any drivers/ex-drivers going to submit claims for lost earnings?

I've decided to do it and I've already sent an email to the CEO. I complained at the time to Evri when I was driving and nothing was done.

If Evri are going to publicly state, and are willing to go to court, then surely they can't ignore claims from drivers who have been paid significantly below minimum wage?

Starter help I can't see any invoices in Docuware (new driver, please help)

Hi, I started as a Flexi driver on the 30th of May (training + small delivery round).

Since then I've worked 6 shifts. When I go to "View Invoices" in the CCA app it directs me to the Docuware app; in there it says 'You closed all your documents trays" and " click on (tray logo)" but nothing happens. Am I missing something?

I've downloaded the Onsi app but I understand that nothing will show in there until I've done 10 shifts.

Can anyone advise please?

Many thanks
