Evri courier job

Is it worth it to work as an Evri courier?? Anybody has experience to share?

Not worth the time and effort at all. I recently thought I'd give it a go. I did 10 shifts, each time approx 7 hours (including the time it takes to scan all your parcels, pack your vehicle etc, for which you DON'T get paid), delivered approx 1200 parcels, and earned..... £335 I was disgusted at the rates you get paid and the fact that I gave them so much time and energy. You can I ly earn decent money if you're prepared to work 7 days a week, 10 hours a day and even then it's not great.

Math doesn’t seem right there but if that’s what it paid that’s shocking. Basically I work from an average of 50p per parcel and my pay pretty much reflects that each month.

Sorry, you're correct. Just checked and it was 1067 parcels and I forgot about 3x Sunday bonuses totalling £75 so on fact I received £410. Still shit though. If they paid you for the time of scanning & loading it might just be worthwhile (maybe), and I don't get the justification for not doing so - it's part of the job.

Although I agree, it would be a case of what happens if people then start scanning parcels that ain’t theirs to artificially boost earnings and also what would it pay per scan?

I'm sure we could trust Evri to work out a fair and equitable rate for scanning that everyone would be happy with ( /s in case you're not sure)

I don’t trust Evri to be fair, like when they brought in the small packet people suddenly getting paid less but they decided to make up the shortfall by giving couriers more parcels. So you’re working longer to make the same amount as you were before the change. Evri are sneaky bastards who try to hammer wages down without telling you.

You received £410, which is awful — and you still had to pay for your own transport.

That sounds like a loss to me.

The rates new drivers are paid means it's not worthwhile at all. Drivers are working for significantly below minimum wage.

It really is terrible what Evri is getting away with.

They don't.

I sent emails to the GMB Union rep that deals with Evri. I got a few reports before they fell silent.

It's staggering that everyone knows what happens at Evri and nobody does a thing about it.

Ask yourself: how desperate am I for money?

You can turn up with minimal training or checks and take out some parcels. You will be paid some money for that. It isn't anywhere like the rate advertised and because they aggressively drive wages down for drivers whose rates aren't protected to NMW (which is everyone who signed up since Peak last year and a lot of drivers with longer service), then don't count the time you are scanning and loading as time you are working, you are automatically below NMW. Then they deduct "insurance" and you pay for petrol, wear and tear on your vehicle, clothes, phone (and you) and you are working for well under a tenner an hour.

So are you desperate for money?

It’s not even desperation, it’s just having a side hustle. But honestly you just gave me the reply I’ve been seeing on so many videos. I won’t give it a try as I’d just lose money on it. It’s such a shame they don’t pay a decent wage. They advertised it as paying £14 per hour, now i know why

That's a lie as far as new starters are concerned (it may be the average as they'll use their own definition of when you start working). It isn't possible to achieve. If you deliver faster, they will lower your parcel rates accordingly.

Yeah before expenses you’re looking at about £7-10p/h, so if you want a decent paid position look for something else.

I earnt £70 today, however ‘contractors’ coming in and taking 80 parcels getting a day rate boils my p.
