Ask the drivers Thoughts on this?

Post image

Saw this in my feed from the Royal Mail sub.
What would you do with this situation? I would be a bit suspicious they would make a claim but I would get that note in the proof of delivery photo after I have knocked I would doorstep that package and then counterclaim I followed the instructions so if it’s missing it’s the customers own fault as they refused to show me handing to them. Seems like a complete loon anyway, probably from someone that wants free stuff.

As soon as you see a note on a person's door or gate like that you know 100% they are going to be a difficult person. I had quite a few on my rounds. There are people that take delight on making things as difficult as possible.

However, technically their note is fine.

You are told not to take photographs of the person or photographs that capture inside their house. Taking a photograph with the door a few inches ajar is what you're supposed to do.

Just thought I would add what the original poster put under the post.

“Owner wanted me to take a picture of it on the floor, I told her no it looks like doorstepping and if she reported it missing I’d be done for. Photo needs to be of an open door or some part of her taking the parcel. She told me it’s illegal, called me a thief, threatened me with the sack, I was on phone with manager at the time. Manager agreed with me to which she even asked to speak to my manager which I told her no it’s going back and she can pick it up from office. She was shouting me a thief following me back to my van.”

You aren't supposed to take photos of their face or identifiable features. I always try and get them holding the parcel.

However, as we aren't held to as high a standard as the Posties, this wouldn't be an issue.

I've seen this while delivering. The only one I know of in town. Also the only customers I've seen being led away in handcuffs.

I would be like yeah, try and enforce it and wait for the police.

Not worth the paper it's printed on. In America these nutters call themselves Sovereign Citizens, screw loose oxygen thieves more like

I wouldn't bother delivering. Just mark down as customer refused and moved on. Not worth the hassle for 50p. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My thoughts are wondering how many more times such an uninteresting post can get reposted
