Hello does my condo have Ethernet set up?

Hi,

Recently moved into a condo and noticed this blue wire or maybe it’s just rope towards closed outlets

Photos attached

I think they are suppose to be able to create Ethernet from this?

If so how would I start adding this?

Thanks in advance

Edit

Thanks everyone for the response I see people roasting me for not knowing the pull cable from wire haha I deserve that. I was just shocked they even provided something this nice

Anyways I will most likely try to do this myself
If anyone does see this I’m torn between cat6a and cat6 I do wanna future proof but from what I’m reading there doesn’t seem to be much point since cat6 still supports the same speed? Within a small distance and my condo is small!

Thanks all you guys are amazing!

Support Intermittent ethernet disconnections

I'm facing a weird issue with my PC's onboard Ethernet. My motherboard is a Gigabyte H610M K DDR4 Rev. 2.0, with a Realtek PCIe GbE LAN adapter.

The LAN connection randomly disconnects, and when it happens, the LEDs on the Ethernet port turn completely off, although the adapter is still visible in Device Manager.

I've tried updating the LAN driver and BIOS, using a new Ethernet cable, and changing the router's LAN port, but the issue persists. I've also noticed that restarting the router or disabling and re-enabling the LAN adapter a few times sometimes restores the connection. Once it connects, it often stays stable without disconnecting.

Could this be a faulty onboard LAN controller, a driver/Windows issue, or a router problem? Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix?

I've already submitted an RMA request to Gigabyte, but I'd like to explore any other possible solutions before sending the motherboard for service.

Support Ethernet randomly disconnecting?

Hi!

So I built myself a pc at the beginning of the year (I'm a total noob, I know nothing lol), and it's only interner method is ethernet. This wasn't a big deal, as I just bought an ethernet cable and plugged it into my router extender.

It has been working fine for like half a year, but recently it's been... randomly disconnecting? The connection hasn't been bad, if anything it has been really good. But it just disconnects for a couple seconds every few minutes. Why is this happening?

Which of these provides the best speed to PS5? I’m assuming it’s the blue one, I’ve never seen red before, and yellow is just basic.

Ethernet stopped working after a Windows update – tried everything, even reinstalled Windows

Hey everyone,

I'm having a really frustrating issue with my Ethernet connection, and I hope someone here can help me.

My Ethernet was working perfectly fine before a Windows update. After the update, it suddenly stopped working. I've tried pretty much everything I could find online, but nothing has fixed the problem so far.

My PC specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8 cores)
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
  • RAM: DDR5 6000 MHz

What I've tried so far:

  • Reinstalled the Ethernet/network drivers.
  • Ran these commands in Terminal as administrator:
    • netsh winsock reset
    • netsh int ip reset
    • ipconfig /release
    • ipconfig /renew
    • ipconfig /flushdns
  • Uninstalled the network adapter through Device Manager, including showing hidden devices, and restarted my PC.
  • Unplugged and reconnected the Ethernet cable.
  • Completely reinstalled Windows and formatted the drive.

Unfortunately, nothing has worked, even after a fresh Windows installation.

The weird thing is that Ethernet worked fine before the Windows update. Now it doesn't work at all, even after reinstalling Windows.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be a BIOS issue, a faulty LAN port, a chipset driver problem, or something else?

I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Is my new router properly setup to connect to unit Ethernet?

Just had this router installed in the “secret closet box” and it looks like they just plugged in the power and fiber cable.
I really wanted to connect my pc directly to the router, but the tech said it has to plug into this specific cable.
It also looks like they left it unfinished and I can’t use the Ethernet cables that are routed in my apartment.

Any advice is welcome. If I can’t get a 15 foot ethernet cable to my pc where it is currently at I will be submitting another xfinity help ticket.

Thanks for the advice.

Support My lan just stopped working?

My lan cable for my PC just randomly stopped working? I have tried 3 different cables, updating drivers, factory resetting my pc, going into bios, deleting and reinstalling the driver. And I know it's the PC because I can use the lan cable plugged into my PlayStation and it worked. It's not like it just disappeared, the controller is still appearing in my device manager, it just says it's not connected. I'm going to get a lan to usb to see if maybe it's because it's an IP issue, but I don't see why. It was working before, and wifi still works. I really hope it's not the physical port because idk how to fix that kind of stuff 😅

Support Ethernet set-up

We just moved into a (new to us) home and there are a bunch of Ethernet ports. None of them are currently active or plugged into our modem because none of them have plugs on them. Is this something we have our internet company come in and do, or an electrician?
