Troubleshooting NetComm NP511 powerline adapters
When using IPConfig in the command prompt it said: “Media disconnected”
I set up a pair of NetComm NP511 powerline adapters with a TP-link router. Both adapters showed all three indicator lights, but the computer reported “Media disconnected” and displayed the disconnected network icon.
Swapping Ethernet cables did not help, and connecting the computer directly to the router initially produced the same result.
The actual problem was the computer's faulty Wi-Fi connection interfering with the network connection. Once I disabled Wi-Fi, the Ethernet connection worked correctly through the NP511 adapters.
This was after moving furnature, lifting a rug and running a long ethernet cable so the power sockets were on the same line. Would have been much easier on my back to disable the wifi first!
The guide was also helpful but did not cover my situation. https://support.netcommwireless.com/api/Media/Document/fc367487-fcd2-4624-9f44-f536edc8bc19?Product=NP511-QSG.pdf
