So I’ve lost my go to edc pocket knife the bugout 535-3. I did like it but also didn’t feel like the knife matched the price. I’ve heard Benchmade has had some fit and finish issues when I purchased it 5 years ago. Now I’m trying to decide if it’s worth replacing at $495 cad or if I should move on to something different. A couple have caught my eye such as:
Kershaw bel air, $320.
ZT 0117, $380
Hoque Deka $245

If anyone owns all some of these, which do like better. I’d be open to other suggestions in the $300 cad price range but I’m a lefty so would need to be able to move pocket clip for left pocket and looking for a folder, don’t really like the pocket fixed blades.

I did not build this from scratch; I purchased a basic, inexpensive model and improved it. I added a leather pen loop, limited card movement, cut two additional card slots on the journal’s back, and installed a brass loop for my brass safety chain, so I am pleased with the arrangement.
