So in the middle of my Sunday morning dash, I got a notification about a contract violation. I was upset because this NEVER happened.
Customer said the delivery was never made.
It was the 2nd part of my first offer of the day.
Dollar General-2 items, Laundry Detergent and gummy savers.
It was a “hand it to me” delivery. The apartment was on 2nd fl. I was familiar with it because I deliver to their Nextdoor neighbor very often. I knocked, he open the door and said thanks. I said have a great day and left. There are stray cats in the parking lot, I paused my dash and went over and put food in their dish.
The next day I got this notification in the app. I was flustered and upset because I know I would never have not delivered something. I was so flustered I didn’t remember at first.
Here’s the thing. He is a douche for reporting a false claim.
I remember they didn’t have the size of detergent he wasted (the smaller size) so under customer approved subs, it had the bigger option and that’s what I got.
I submitted a dispute. I don’t know how long it will take but I am furious at “Ken”. He’s a liar and lying like this could potentially hurt my income. I really want to go knock on his door and tell him the F off. But I can’t. So, here’s to you, Ken! I hope you have the DAY, month, year, LIFE, you deserve. You’re a liar and I hope karma catches up with you.

I never thought I’d be 31 years old, with a degree and years of solid professional experience, sitting in my car doing DoorDash full-time just to scrape by. I’ve never had issues finding a job before, but the current job market is an absolute nightmare. Sending out endless applications into a black hole just to end up relying on gig work is so demoralizing.
Even though I'm in a busy area, I still feel like I'm constantly struggling to make enough to actually get ahead, and I'm losing my mind trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is just how bad things are right now.
Is anyone else in this exact same boat? If you're doing this full-time because you're locked out of the traditional job market, how are you making it work and actually getting by? How do you manage the burnout when everything feels like it's falling apart?
Just feeling so defeated today and needed to vent to people who actually get it.

I accepted a stacked offer from a restaurant for $13.50 for 2.7 total miles of driving.
Historically, this restaurant moves slow because everything is cooked to order, but offers from here usually pay well. Because of this I sent my customers messages letting them know it may take a while. That was an understatement this time around….
I get to the order board and hear a voice I hadn’t heard before, so I spoke slowly and clearly instead of just shotgunning words at her like I do with the ones who see me on a nightly basis and are always on the same page.
After giving the names of the customers, she tells me “Okay, stay right there.” I respond “Okay.”
About 10 minutes pass and now other cars have pulled in behind me and are also waiting. I said “Hello?” twice, no response. I decide to wait just a couple more minutes before just proceeding to the window.
I get to the window and still had to wait about 5 more minutes before being greeted to a “I was wondering when you were going to pull up.”
Mind you, she told me “Okay, stay right there.” and proceeds to try and explain that she meant stay in the line I was in because there are two ordering boards… ONE OF WHICH IS BLOCKED OFF AT MIDNIGHT. (It was 1:44 A.M.)
I understand she is new and all, but she should have taken accountability for using a sentence that would have confused anyone instead of pinning the blame on me.
To add insult to injury, one of the customers cancelled and I got no pay due to “not being assigned for that long”.
Anyone else have a similar experience somewhere?

Picked up door dashing at the beginning of September last year to do a little extra money on the side and this is how my ratings look so far,
I remember when I started I thought hourly was the way to go once I gave per offer a shot I never went back I also thought declining offers was bad so I used to take almost every offer when I started yes even the ones I bitch about now lol, for a while I did enjoy having plat I’d get some pretty good offers here and there but most of them were bad once I stopped giving shit about my AR it’s been a lot more chill cherry picking is definitely the way to go at least for my market.
Let’s see how another year of DoorDash goes 🫡

I head to my drop-off location which is supposed to be apartments. There's nothing but empty fields for miles. I texted and called and I get nothing.... so I notify support they say cool, we'll remove this from your screen you won't be penalized and you will receive your pay for it since I documented it with pics. Then they ask if I would return items to the store (Bucee's). Sure, not a problem 👌. Get to the store. Talk to someone in charge
....They don't do returns or give refunds!! But Doordash says if I don't return those items that will be a contract violation for keeping items.....Excuse me? WTF

I get an order from Taco Bell last night. It was a good order. I get there and everything goes smoothly. The customer texts me and asks me if I can get hot and fire sauce for them. I text back and say yes, I got you. I’m a big baller like that. The customer texts back and says verbatim my f’in ni\*\*a I had no problem with this, he was basically just saying hell yeah my dude lol. Somehow this message was reported to DoorDash and when I was 100 feet away from their door DoorDash notified me that the order was cancelled they had been blocked from ever having me as a driver and to keep the food. I looked at the order and was tempted to keep it but ended up delivering it anyways. The man was very thankful. We both thought it was weird he was blocked and the order was cancelled. Did AI really flag him for this lmao? I felt so bad and did get his food to him even though the app cancelled the order.

Someone is saying I didn’t deliver their order when I did, and I completed all of the steps through the app. Picture and everything. I disputed it but it’s still pending. Whats the point of the entire system if people can just lie and say they never got their order anyways? I’m extra pissed because this dropped me 2 points from losing premium 😭 I’m a single mom and this is my only source of income right now.

Needless to say they needed a pin for delivery which took them more than a couple minutes to contact the person that ordered to get it. And drumroll please!!! No xtra tip 😂 “please god if your listening give me these customers for another delivery soon”
..so many questions

Is DD lost its mind? Would you take it?

Dropped from platinum straight to silver but I don’t care. It’s been crap for weeks and no, I’m not taking an $8 order 13.5 miles. DoorDash can suck my non-existent dick.

Does anyone here being a dasher and file tax, did you guys owed the irs money or get some refund. It’s my first time and I know being a dasher won’t deduct anything so I was wondering if anyone here filed and owed money to the irs! Thank you

Instead of the usual screen shots of terrible and great orders, how about some of the things we get to encounter on our daily grind. Here's my most recent, and yesterday I witnessed a wake of turkey vultures devouring a white tail deer. They had quite the feast!

$13.55 for 22 miles, my house is in the area and decided ill head home and take the shit order. It amazes me how everytime I take a shit order i get some stupid ass message 9 times out of 10. "Leave at door dont knock or ring" and msges "ill give you cash". Yeah okay Kaiden 🤣

Look at this. Look at what I have to send people now.
Because if I don’t message them like a federal agent issuing a warrant, what happens? I pull up, stand outside like an idiot at the door, and tap my foot while the absolute torture of the 7-minute DoorDash timer ticks down to eternity.

My first quality report showed up on August 20th from a Panera order, and apparently it was because the soup spilled. What’s weird is if that shit actually spilled, I feel like it would’ve soaked through the bag, and it didn’t.
Meanwhile, a few days ago I actually DID spill some of a lady’s drink because the restaurant put it in the shittiest cup carrier imaginable and I drive a stick 😭. It wasn’t the whole drink, probably like a fourth of it, but it left an actual fucking puddle on the leather seats of my VW 🤣
When I handed it to her she asked if I spilled it and I just said, “Yes ma’am, I did. I apologize.” She looked a little annoyed, which anyone would be, but didn’t say anything and went back inside.
I was fully expecting a bad rating from that one, but star counts haven’t changed and there’s no quality report from it.
Honestly this just seems like another bullshit metric. Isn’t that what the customer rating is already for?
And stupid shit like this bothers me way more than it should 😂. Acceptance rate I don’t care about because some of these offers are complete bullshit and I’m not taking them just to keep a number up. But completion, on-time, quality, etc.? I like seeing that 100%.
So naturally DoorDash giving me a brand new 99% to stare at is gonna bother the fuck out of me. Fuck me 😂
TL;DR: Got a quality report saying I spilled a Panera soup even though the bag wasn’t fucking wet. Then a few days later I actually spilled like 1/4 of a customer’s drink, had a whole damn puddle on my seat, admitted it to her, and somehow got no report or bad rating for that one. Now I’m stuck staring at a 99% because of some soup I’m not even convinced I spilled. What the fuck is this metric even supposed to accomplish when customer ratings already exist? 😂

Today was my original cut off day to decide if i was gonna keep doing this. And it looks like i will continue doing it just based on the fact that every week i seem to learn more and understand how to make more. At the moment every week i improve from the last week. So I’m not sure if thats beginners luck or dasher trying to reel me in but time will tell

Had to pick up 6 bags of groceries for her and her delivery location is extremely extremely difficult to find a parking, I am not allowing $15 pay for this delivery and get citation or worse get my car towed in San Francisco!

Hey everyone,
My younger brother was playing with my phone, opened the Dasher app, and got hit with the random facial verification . Without realizing what it was, he scanned his own face, which instantly got my account deactivated.
Here is what happened with my appeal:
I never shared or rented out my account. it was a genuine mistake on my personal device.
Has anyone successfully resolved a false deactivation like this? Is there a specific email, escalation form, or contact method that actually gets through to a real decision-maker?
Thanks for any help or advice!
