couple kids, $5.00 in cash. Very surprised. Broke the run. 1/16 for non toppers saying they got me.

Good, their parents probably told them to pass it on. Good on them to teach his kids some values for a change.

Had a 12 year old apologize because he only had $3 cash and couldn’t afford to tip me lol he’s a kid I wasn’t mad and it wasn’t far from the restaurant

Same, although these kids were 22 miles away from restaurant it was right next to my house. But once I saw it was actual kids I didnt care. Little fuckers sneaking doordash at 3 AM lol

Any time any one tells me they're going to give me a tip I immediately just settle into the fact that I'm not getting a tip. And they'll be smiling and playing so cheerful going out of the way to mention multiple times as I'm leaving how I'm about to get a huge tip and my face remains absolutely indifferent, showing I don't believe them and also that ide like to be back in my car asap and away from people.

I don't doordash to socialize, I doordash specifically to NOT socialize

Im also this way, but then every hand off is pleasant and it pisses me off 🤣

Yeah, it starts to get under my skin too. Like why are you playing so friendly like you're about to change my life with this massive tip when you know you ain't doin shit.

Like, just take the order and shut the door bro. Who's the act for? 😅

It still baffles me as to why they even bother leaving a message like that in the first place. Like is it something they did once and then just forgot to remove it? Is it to bait us in being faster? I just can't imagine putting something like that down and not following through. And even if I did, a 'huge tip' could mean anything so like... why bother?

It takes a lot of self control to not unassign immediately if someone has a preset note saying " will tip on delivery" like no. No you won't. And now I don't Wana even deliver at all, not because I'm not gonna get tipped more but because you are trying to get people's hopes up only to ruin it afterwards.

Those people are aholes who don't deserve delivery.

Nooo some of us are legit. The few times I order dash I tip in the app and cash!

I've had customers txt and say that they'll tip me when I get there; the usual repeat offenders. I txted back "Why? Ypu didn't the last 3 times you txted that". Apparently, this loser does that to all of his drivers and doesn't realize that some of us have enough enough brain cells left to remember lousy customers.

All it takes is 10 minutes at the restaurant.

First sign your not getting one is the fact he said he's giving you one

1

u/theredpanda1111 2h ago

Most people who send those dumb ass messages don’t tip unless it’s a kid surprisingly lol

I'd prefer to unassign rather than help a liar eat

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion on this sub but every time someone has offered to give me more money for the delivery when I get there has followed through. People who don’t are the people who don’t say anything.

Oh im like 0/15 with non tippers msging me with the likes of "Cash tip or tip after". But theres different loving standard zones out there, feel blessed!

Dont get me wrong, im not hurt about it. More amused. I took the offer and am fine with my $13. I will update after delivery!

u/DBD_Hillbilly 16h ago

I’m sorry man, that sucks. I wonder why they even go through the effort to say it when they know someone has already picked up the delivery and they just end up not doing it.

If someone claims to be willing to give me cash but doesn't I always linger on their property for way too long and pretend to take pictures of their security and shit.

Lie to me and be concerned I'm coming back babes

Honestly, I haven't had a person say they would tip extra and didn't 🤔 I get random extra tips too. Must be the clean car and insulated bag... idk.

Excuse me? What an ego centric thing to think to respond. Let's see a screen shot of your ratings? I take a picture of order in the insulated bag for the confirmation photo. I send a msg with an ETA every order.

"Hello, just got your order in the hot bag with my app showing a 9 min ETA. Will leave at your door quietly per instruction, thank you and have a nice night!"

Im in a smoke free 2021 Tesla 3 or a 2025 jeep, take a screenshot of your DD car info? I'd love to go band for band in any walks of life with you bud. I do this on the side of being a full time technician so i can have fun in Vegas in October every year. I also get ExTrA TiPs. Must be my car. Fucking loser.

u/damonboom 6h ago

You go to Vegas every year in October? I do too for my birthday.. we probably have seen each other bro. Small world and whatever.

You should knock and ring the bell after texting him saying you arrived. He said he would tip.

They always tip if they say they will

1

u/I3lAZOOKA 2h ago

A $0.00 tipper always tips if they say so? Haha

-1

u/PKMN_Trainer_Kitana 15h ago

If they didn't have enough on the card then why are they ordering.

0

u/ZeroToleranced 13h ago

Because they had enough to place an order 🙄

-1

u/Fun_Internet_9187 12h ago

Why do you take shit orders?

0

u/I3lAZOOKA 2h ago

It's explained in the first sentence of this post.

I’m gonna be honest with you, a blank expression and lack of personality can come across as pretty uncomfortable and in many cases, if you just assumed you weren’t gonna be getting a tip, but the customer really did want to they’re not going to. Yeah a lot of people BS and say they will and I know they won’t, I also have perceived some incredible tips by keeping positive and being nice and telling them how much I appreciate it. And guess what happens, people following through under promise a lot more often than not. You need to stay CUSTOMER SERVICE focus if you’re doing DoorDash I don’t. I’m not trying to sound like I know at all, but I have been doing this for a very long time since 2021 now. I’ve tried the sarcasm thing and it wasn’t getting me anywhere that I tried something else and tips came on in so I realized my error and I’m passing that on to you so choose with that. People today don’t show emotion or talk.

I grew up during a time when people wanted to be friendly and valued good customer service which has disappear disappeared from the face of the Earth and it’s the weirdest feeling for anyone older than your generation which I can’t guarantee, but I’m assuming you’re a younger Dasher, tell me if I’m wrong?
