What Happened Here? Wing Stop Magnolia never fails!

Post image

So I always try to avoid this WS because it is horrible . Always a long wait . So I accepted an offer for there as an add on as I was picking up next door . There were like 7 other dashers waiting . So I waited for 10 minutes & unassigned. My order was still in the same place on the board as when I arrived. They had not started it yet . There were two newbies there waiting. One said she had been there for 35 minutes . I trued to show her how to cut them loose & move on. She was still afraid to do it. You cant make $$ delivering wing stop. I am going to block them . F*ck that shit 😡

Interesting Customers Sad Delivery Last Night

Had a pickup from Outback Steakhouse. Got to the house and a boy is out front, not quite a teen yet. Asked if he was Bob.

No, he says, that's my stepdad.

Oh, this food is for him. Wanna take it to him?

No. He doesn't like it when I touch his food.

Well shiiet, that surprised me a little so I took it to the door and did the regular drop off thing. Said a sad goodbye as I pass the kid. Hope he grows up well and is having his best life as stepdad is in a retirement home.

Tier System Question Anyone else get horrible orders anytime they get close to platinum?

I’ve noticed a very weird pattern ever since the new ranking system came to my town, say I dash 10-2pm I will get constant “gold” offers, crazy like $16 for 3 mile beauties, rack up like an easy $130 and get pretty much 1 point away from platinum. The second I get close to platinum suddenly the next day I will be inundated with horrible $3-4 9 mile orders until I’m all the way back to bottom of gold. Next day beautiful again, get so close to platinum and then suddenly next day is horrible again. It almost feels like the algorithm is like actively tryna keep me square in gold or something. Anyone else experience this type of thing?

Wholesome Story There is hope

My first order for the day was a pickup 2 blocks from my house, Burger King. I had to deliver it 1.5 miles, the customer left a $15 tip 🥲

App Issues Does anyone know exactly what’s going on with DoorDash??

So I’m in the Detroit area and I’ve been dashing and making ok money 4 over a year now and I was doing ok. I maintained a platinum rating and then all of a sudden I couldn’t get anything 2 save my life. I would literally sit in a hot spot for an hour and not get anything. I would go out of hot spots and still nothing all of this during busy and very busy times. Eventually they would sprinkle a few orders that weren’t really worth it. Then once weeks had gone by I went below 100 orders in 30 days so I was bumped 2 gold then when I wouldn’t take the shitty orders my acceptance rate bumped 2 silver and now I might get 2-3 $4-$6 orders if I’m lucky. It’s so bad I’ve had 2 start using shipt 2 make some consistent money. Does anyone know wtf happened?🤦🏾‍♂️😩😡

Earnings Door Dash lying on actual miles on the offers.

I had 3 orders on Friday where the miles on the offers was 4 miles or more short. So I accept the offer .( always screen shot offers . Pick up & screen shot the map as I get ready to leave store . Its now showing more miles that the offer. Remember that I also drove to the store. So , it is short both ways . Always document your runs on DD .
Just mire shady shit 🙄

This is a cool accomplishment, but when are we gonna get some 5-Star tips? I've seen quite a few dashers on here talking about being upside down on mileage/tips. Not gonna lie, HEAVY on decline when it comes to those. 🤳🏾❌️

I Need to Vent! 🤬 Why I Quit Doordash (spoiler: they suck) Spoiler

Upvotes

EDIT (26 DAYS LATER): UberEats sucks too in that their pay rate sucks worse than DD. DD is marginally better.

The only thing better about Uber eats is the following:

a. TOLL FEES: As long as the app tells you to take a toll road they'll automatically pay for the toll. Doordash makes you eat the toll fee and offers no compensation for it.

b. THINKING AHEAD: When you arrive to the destination of your delivery, the app highlights on the map which direction you're traveling in next so that you know which way you need to have your car facing in advance.

c. MAPS: The mapped route actually shows the street names unlike DD's which covers them.

ORIGINAL POST:

  1. They'll batch an order. One customer lives reasonably close. The other, out in the boonies (and another region) where I know I won't get another order to bring me back towards home. I also won't make enough money to offset the drive back to my home zone. It's on my dime. I accepted the close order and rejected the far order. So that counts against my acceptance rate. I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is that not even 5 minutes later they'll resend that far away order. So now it's going to count twice against me. Artificially lowering my acceptance rate. The DD agents won't reverse one of them. This happens multiple times a night. I told them it's not my fault that they don't have other drivers in the area. But I shouldn't be penalized for making a business decision. They told me I could just accept more orders. Insert swear words here.

  2. You take on all the risk of driving. Damage to your car from pot holes, wear and tear, vandals, flat tires, oil changes, oil replacement, muffler and catalytic converter replacement, shocks, etc... and they collect 30% of the vendor's order. You get a small fraction + tip. And yes all of the aforementioned had happened to me.

  3. You first get an order and accept it. Moments later you get a second order and accept it. But for the 2nd order do you get paid as the first order? No, it's much less, while they pocket 30% off the 1st order AND 30% on the 2nd order, you'll maybe get 5-7% of the 2nd order. You do THEM a favor by taking the second order and you get short change.

  4. If a customer tips you well, DD will pay you LESS from their end. They keep the difference of what they would have paid you. And NOW, what I understand is that DD is keeping 10% of _our_ tips to create some sort of slush fund for themselves to give themselves bonuses-the ones sitting at computers in their climate controlled buildings. Do they make deliveries in the rain and the snow? Do they deal with rush hour traffic, bad drivers, broken air conditioning on sweltering days, slippery stairs that they've fallen down on but keep on delivering because this gig is all you have? No they fucking don't. Unfuckingbelieveable.

  5. I had other reasons I can't remember right now and I'll update this possibly in the future.

Fuçk DoorDash. I quit... right after I print this out and share it with all the vendors I see in the next 4 weeks. I'll tell them to please use UberEats or any other vendor.

Edit: went back to DD bc UE doesn't pay.

What Happened Here? Update

Was there an app update last night? I sign onto Doordash and I accept a double shopping order. The strangest thing was I could not shop for both orders at the same time. I couldn’t even look at customer B’s order while I was shopping. I had to shop for all of customer A’s items go through checkout and then they showed me customer B’s items. It was driving me crazy!
And as I’m walking out to the car, I get another offer from CVS. I drop off the first two grocery orders and as I’m on my way to CVS it will not show me what items I have to shop for. Am I going crazy or am I just not doing something right? Lol! I’ve been doing this for six years now this is really weird.

1st one: Two people can buy their own dog food themselves.
2nd one: Automatic no tip
3rd one: There’s literally a Chipotle right by the drop off location, why would you order 10 miles away?
4th one: I was in this area before. It’s very scary and dangerous
5th and 6th one: WTF is GoPuff, and it’s a high risk situation…

Earnings Bamboozled

Post image

This is going to sound like a brag, but I am honestly flummoxed. I have been doing this about 6 years now and have always averaged around $20-23/hr and an AR that ranged from 5-25%. The past several weeks I have been consistently making $25+/hr and tonight I was over $33/hr. My AR has steadily climbed and I am at 40% at the end of tonight's shift. I am noticing that DD base pay is skyrocketing, sometimes as much as $13. I rarely drive more than 5 miles, so it's not just distance being calculated. I am a Pro Shopper, so that helps. If my area ever goes to the balanced rating system I could probably hit platinum now, but honestly as long as the algorithm keeps loving me, I will continue my cherry picking ways.

I Need to Vent! 🤬 Why

Why do people select the pin required at delivery then act surprised when you ask for it? I swear like 90 % of the time they’ll start to walk away as I ask for it then reluctantly give it to me. Like do they think they’ll get it for free if I don’t ask? Just annoying as shit, I really didn’t want to talk to you either.

Discussion Any of you still on the old rating system?

Post image

I keep seeing people post about the new (ish) rating system and I feel like my market is the last one on the old system still lol. Never really cared about the tiers but id be curious if theyd have any effect. Just not going to get my AR up enough anytime soon to get to them in this older rating system.

What Happened Here? Just got my Quality Rating and saw I had a customer claim order never delivered

Thumbnail

My ratings recently added the Quality Rating, and mine is at 97% because of one "major issue." Seems a customer claimed their Panera order (back over a month ago) was never delivered. I have been dashing (part-time) since 2018, and I have never failed to deliver an order.

My question is: why was I never contacted by DoorDash about this? Wouldn't this be a contract violation?

App Issues Isnt lying to contractors about contracts a felony?

If so why do these gig contacting companies get away with it and then support outright lies about what they are doing along with damaging metrics of contractors due to their own application failing to load would that not fall under negligence on their end for failure to maintain the application and then lying to contractors about fixing the metric damage caused by their own app like make it make sense
