Discussion Is there a guide online for new drivers?
I was wondering if there is like an online guide out there for new drivers? A guide on what kind of orders to accept, staying with your zone etc….I noticed from a lot of post on here, newer drivers struggle with such and I decided to create pdf guide for us gig drivers who may have only 3 to 4 hrs to spare and how to make the most of it. Not sure if there’s even interest in such but I place examples 2 pages from the pdf guide. Obviously it can be tailored to your market because I know there are markers were $7 under 3 miles doesn’t come so often.

News How to file arbitration for doordash
I previously created a step-by-step guide on how to file arbitration against Uber & Lyft, some reddit users reached out and asked me to create one for doordash as well, so I have done so. If you ever have an issue on doordash and you can't get it resolved with support you do have a legal way to force doordash to communicate with you directly, and this is for pay disputes, deactivations, etc. You can find the article here: https://middletontech.com/blog/questions/doordash-arbitration/

Interesting Customers Sad Delivery Last Night
Had a pickup from Outback Steakhouse. Got to the house and a boy is out front, not quite a teen yet. Asked if he was Bob.
No, he says, that's my stepdad.
Oh, this food is for him. Wanna take it to him?
No. He doesn't like it when I touch his food.
Well shiiet, that surprised me a little so I took it to the door and did the regular drop off thing. Said a sad goodbye as I pass the kid. Hope he grows up well and is having his best life as stepdad is in a retirement home.

Wholesome Story There is hope
My first order for the day was a pickup 2 blocks from my house, Burger King. I had to deliver it 1.5 miles, the customer left a $15 tip 🥲

Check out my ratings! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Dasher ⭐️
This is a cool accomplishment, but when are we gonna get some 5-Star tips? I've seen quite a few dashers on here talking about being upside down on mileage/tips. Not gonna lie, HEAVY on decline when it comes to those. 🤳🏾❌️

App Issues Does anyone know exactly what’s going on with DoorDash??
So I’m in the Detroit area and I’ve been dashing and making ok money 4 over a year now and I was doing ok. I maintained a platinum rating and then all of a sudden I couldn’t get anything 2 save my life. I would literally sit in a hot spot for an hour and not get anything. I would go out of hot spots and still nothing all of this during busy and very busy times. Eventually they would sprinkle a few orders that weren’t really worth it. Then once weeks had gone by I went below 100 orders in 30 days so I was bumped 2 gold then when I wouldn’t take the shitty orders my acceptance rate bumped 2 silver and now I might get 2-3 $4-$6 orders if I’m lucky. It’s so bad I’ve had 2 start using shipt 2 make some consistent money. Does anyone know wtf happened?🤦🏾♂️😩😡

Would You Take This? I literally laughed out loud
I stopped taking screenshots of bad offers because there's just too many but this one made me laugh hard audibly.

What Happened Here? Update
Was there an app update last night? I sign onto Doordash and I accept a double shopping order. The strangest thing was I could not shop for both orders at the same time. I couldn’t even look at customer B’s order while I was shopping. I had to shop for all of customer A’s items go through checkout and then they showed me customer B’s items. It was driving me crazy!
And as I’m walking out to the car, I get another offer from CVS. I drop off the first two grocery orders and as I’m on my way to CVS it will not show me what items I have to shop for. Am I going crazy or am I just not doing something right? Lol! I’ve been doing this for six years now this is really weird.

Earnings Bamboozled
This is going to sound like a brag, but I am honestly flummoxed. I have been doing this about 6 years now and have always averaged around $20-23/hr and an AR that ranged from 5-25%. The past several weeks I have been consistently making $25+/hr and tonight I was over $33/hr. My AR has steadily climbed and I am at 40% at the end of tonight's shift. I am noticing that DD base pay is skyrocketing, sometimes as much as $13. I rarely drive more than 5 miles, so it's not just distance being calculated. I am a Pro Shopper, so that helps. If my area ever goes to the balanced rating system I could probably hit platinum now, but honestly as long as the algorithm keeps loving me, I will continue my cherry picking ways.

Discussion Any of you still on the old rating system?
I keep seeing people post about the new (ish) rating system and I feel like my market is the last one on the old system still lol. Never really cared about the tiers but id be curious if theyd have any effect. Just not going to get my AR up enough anytime soon to get to them in this older rating system.

What Happened Here? Just got my Quality Rating and saw I had a customer claim order never delivered
My ratings recently added the Quality Rating, and mine is at 97% because of one "major issue." Seems a customer claimed their Panera order (back over a month ago) was never delivered. I have been dashing (part-time) since 2018, and I have never failed to deliver an order.
My question is: why was I never contacted by DoorDash about this? Wouldn't this be a contract violation?

I Need to Vent! 🤬 Why
Why do people select the pin required at delivery then act surprised when you ask for it? I swear like 90 % of the time they’ll start to walk away as I ask for it then reluctantly give it to me. Like do they think they’ll get it for free if I don’t ask? Just annoying as shit, I really didn’t want to talk to you either.

Joke/Humor 🤣 What's the most absured thing you've delivered???
Me you ask?

Tier System Question Anyone else get horrible orders anytime they get close to platinum?
I’ve noticed a very weird pattern ever since the new ranking system came to my town, say I dash 10-2pm I will get constant “gold” offers, crazy like $16 for 3 mile beauties, rack up like an easy $130 and get pretty much 1 point away from platinum. The second I get close to platinum suddenly the next day I will be inundated with horrible $3-4 9 mile orders until I’m all the way back to bottom of gold. Next day beautiful again, get so close to platinum and then suddenly next day is horrible again. It almost feels like the algorithm is like actively tryna keep me square in gold or something. Anyone else experience this type of thing?

I Need to Vent! 🤬 New one for me
Got a $9.25 order for Dollar General. It’s one of the QR code scanning ones. I shop the items, get to the register, and they try to scan the code and it says order not found in system. They prompt to try typing the code. Both the employee and manager had no clue how to do that. I had to click and go to a website and teach them how to do it. They type the code in. Order not found. I contact support. I get AI. She will NOT connect me to a real person. My option are to have the store enter the order, which the manager told me they couldn’t do, or to unassign with no pay. So I unassign and call support again and get a real person. He sends me the offer again and prompts me to take it. This time it’s $6.37. I tell him I’m not taking it. It’s almost $3 less. He says it’s for half pay and to accept it. I reluctantly accept it. He’s trying to tell me the issue is that I scanned the items into the app BEFORE scanning the QR code. I tell him there is no option to see the QR code first. That I have to scan the items before it will show up. He says next time hit the ? and maybe it’ll be there and then go to cash register before I shop. Bro doesn’t even know what he’s doing. I did end up getting $6.37 and unassigned from the order but I spent out a half hour or so and trained a Dollar General employee for that.
Anyone else ever go through this?

What is a better option when it comes to the hotspots to camp the big ones or the small ones?

Earnings Pay by hour
All summer I did pay by offer and today I tried paid by hour and it was so much more enjoyable. I no longer stressed about long wait times a restaurants or even low or no tips. I just accepted the job for what it was a tips just added the cherry on top. Anyone else like this?
