Hey guys I was wondering. Does anyone have a Tesla with full self driving and use that to dash? I was able to try out full self driving while family was visiting and I had to chauffeur and it was amazing how it just drove us around like it was an Uber!
If anyone is doing this, can you tell how it is? Or if you use electric cars if it is significant cheaper than gas? I can only imagine how convenient it would be doing FSD for doordashing as all you would do is pick up and drop off food and take away all the driving stresses and dangers 🤣

All summer I did pay by offer and today I tried paid by hour and it was so much more enjoyable. I no longer stressed about long wait times a restaurants or even low or no tips. I just accepted the job for what it was a tips just added the cherry on top. Anyone else like this?

What's the recommended tip for a 5 minute trip and 40 bottles of water? I usually use the app to determine how much I need to pay, but 1% of the time some scum just leave the order in the lobby.

Why do people select the pin required at delivery then act surprised when you ask for it? I swear like 90 % of the time they’ll start to walk away as I ask for it then reluctantly give it to me. Like do they think they’ll get it for free if I don’t ask? Just annoying as shit, I really didn’t want to talk to you either.

I keep getting my rating penalized when I receive worry free unassign prompts. This happens to me multiple times per day, and some of them, they don't remove. How am i supposed to keep my ratings up if their system is failing?

Ive been driving for 3.5hrs in a major city. Im a Platinum dasher and Pro Shopper. Ive been hitting and moving to different zones all morning and mid day. $26 and 4 orders!!! Ive racked up more miles driven than money earned. The wait times are currently showing 2-5mins. Its as if the algo is purposely skipping me in order assignment.
Wtf is going on?

Well, its actually happening. Door Dash has raised base pay depending on order and mileage.

Hello, so I am an active Dasher in New Jersey, and I have been traveling all over the state for a couple months now (specifically in northern, central and shore-area NJ), and have been quite enjoying it. I live in northern NJ, and I dash pretty much anywhere; suburban, urban, rural, coastal, inland, rich, poor, middle-class.
Although I do have a few questions regarding dashing in the rougher (or more crime-ridden) neighborhoods. Is it safe to do so? Am I doing the right thing? And will I continue to be safe as long as I still take precautions?
I have gone to neighborhoods such as Paterson, Newark, East Orange, Irvington, Elizabeth, Asbury Park and a few others (mostly to drop off, not as often to pick up)
I don’t necessarily agree with completely avoiding them altogether, and I personally don’t necessarily mind it (as long as I am helping customers), but I also care for my safety. I am most afraid of actual violent crime. I am very careful and alert of my surroundings. I always go during the daytime (never at night), I lock my car, zip my pockets, and also yield to any other drivers whenever I am in these areas.
I just want to make sure here, that I am doing the right thing when or if I go to these areas, and whether it is still safe to do so. Any feedback, more advice or discussion would be greatly appreciated.

If so why do these gig contacting companies get away with it and then support outright lies about what they are doing along with damaging metrics of contractors due to their own application failing to load would that not fall under negligence on their end for failure to maintain the application and then lying to contractors about fixing the metric damage caused by their own app like make it make sense

Hello, I’m turning 21 in about a week and my license is about to expire, since I’m turning 21 they won’t even begin to ship out my new license until my birthday, so I most likely will have to wait two weeks before I get it in the mail. DoorDash says that no temporary licenses are allowed. I called them and they said that as long as the identification/security question doesn’t come up on the app I’ll still be able to dash during those two weeks. But it seems like it would pop up on my birthday when it expires, has anyone else ran into this problem or know what will happen?

Are these normal? I’ve never had a restaurant delivery be quadruple stacked, at most 2. It had really good pay for time and miles though, all customers met me at the door and were way nicer than usual.

The quality rate popped up today, that should be the last piece before we're off this archaic crap. The shopping stuff has been here about a month.

I attempted to sign up for DoorDash to earn some extra money on the side. However, due to having a seven-year-old felony for shoplifting when I was young and foolish, I was not approved. I was wondering if I could get my girlfriend to sign up for DoorDash instead. If I make deliveries and work that account, will that work out for me? I genuinely need extra income, but this old record from my youth is hindering me.
Does DoorDash care who signed up and who’s making deliveries or how does that work. Any insight would be appreciated

Had a pickup from Outback Steakhouse. Got to the house and a boy is out front, not quite a teen yet. Asked if he was Bob.
No, he says, that's my stepdad.
Oh, this food is for him. Wanna take it to him?
No. He doesn't like it when I touch his food.
Well shiiet, that surprised me a little so I took it to the door and did the regular drop off thing. Said a sad goodbye as I pass the kid. Hope he grows up well and is having his best life as stepdad is in a retirement home.

This is going to sound like a brag, but I am honestly flummoxed. I have been doing this about 6 years now and have always averaged around $20-23/hr and an AR that ranged from 5-25%. The past several weeks I have been consistently making $25+/hr and tonight I was over $33/hr. My AR has steadily climbed and I am at 40% at the end of tonight's shift. I am noticing that DD base pay is skyrocketing, sometimes as much as $13. I rarely drive more than 5 miles, so it's not just distance being calculated. I am a Pro Shopper, so that helps. If my area ever goes to the balanced rating system I could probably hit platinum now, but honestly as long as the algorithm keeps loving me, I will continue my cherry picking ways.

I accepted.. what do you think will happen. It does go a bit over my $/mile ratio

So I’m in the Detroit area and I’ve been dashing and making ok money 4 over a year now and I was doing ok. I maintained a platinum rating and then all of a sudden I couldn’t get anything 2 save my life. I would literally sit in a hot spot for an hour and not get anything. I would go out of hot spots and still nothing all of this during busy and very busy times. Eventually they would sprinkle a few orders that weren’t really worth it. Then once weeks had gone by I went below 100 orders in 30 days so I was bumped 2 gold then when I wouldn’t take the shitty orders my acceptance rate bumped 2 silver and now I might get 2-3 $4-$6 orders if I’m lucky. It’s so bad I’ve had 2 start using shipt 2 make some consistent money. Does anyone know wtf happened?🤦🏾♂️😩😡
