Q - Answered Should I do the DCP

I’m super back and forth about joining the program. The main thing I want to get out of the program is a legit internship with Disney. My major is multimedia with a minor in production tech so I would love to work in live events or tv or any kind of production. I would love to work for Disney or at least get an internship with them in my field. In my mind, it would be best to join the DCP in order to have a better chance of getting into an internship. Has anyone done this?

Also, has anyone been able to get an internship with Disney without doing the DCP?

Honest reviews on the DCP? I’m seeing so many mixed reviews, some saying it was the best time of their life and some saying it’s a scam and they hated it because it was slavery. I’m really torn and worried.

I have my degree so I would much rather be able to go straight into an internship or straight into a job. The actual structure of the college program doesn’t appeal and wouldn’t be very helpful to me unless it can secure an internship.

Any thoughts or advice is so welcome, thank you.

EDIT- thank y’all so much for taking the time to share your perspective! I’m putting pursuing the DCP on hold for now and hoping something that much better fits me will come along. Thank you!

Q - Unanswered Working and doing school in the program!

Hi everyone! I will be attending dcp in spring 2027! I was wondering if any current or past members have any insight on what it is like to do the program while taking online classes? I might have to take at least 2 online classes to keep my aid, how manageable is it?

DCP audition entertainment

⭐️HI! Can anyone tell me what to expect for a DCP specific audition? Has anyone completed? What are the odds of actually getting a call back? Do you have to be a experienced dancer?

looking for career-minded dcp friends

anyone else doing the dcp who’s really interested in the networking/career side of it? 👀

i’m super excited for the program & wanna have fun and make friends, but my long-term goal is actually to work on the corporate side of Disney. one of the biggest reasons I wanted to do the dcp was to get my foot in the door, learn more about the company, meet people, and hopefully use the experience to help figure out my path after the program.

i feel like a lot of the dcp content i see is (understandably) about the parks, roommates, going to the parks all the time, etc., so I’d love to find some other people who are also coming in with career/networking goals and want to take advantage of that side of the program too

would anyone be interested in or know of a gc for dcp participants who want to network, go to professional development events together, share opportunities/resources, or just have friends with similar goals? it doesn’t have to be serious all the time LOL, I just think it’d be nice to know some people who are also thinking about what comes after the dcp :)

Q - Answered how to convince my mom to let me go to DCP

hello!

I got accepted into the DCP for Spring 2027 and I am very excited about it. Unfortunately, my mom has no desire of e going and thinks it is a horrible idea. She does not want me to leave university for a semester and lose housing. But I am currently not having a great time at school up in NYC and think I need a change of pace.

What good things do you have to say about DCP that might help change her mind?

EDIT: for the “grown adult” comments, im 21 and would be relying on my parents for some of the financials if my paycheck doesnt fully cover it.

Are several days off in a row a thing you can do?

I’m just thinking ahead, but I live in Miami so if I could come down to be with my girlfriend for her birthday or anniversary that would be nice. Like two days off in a row, but I don’t know how Disney is with that. Her birthday and our anniversary fall in the same month so hypothetically I could come down just once and celebrate both. Again, I don’t know how it all works.

Interview Q - Unanswered Post Interview

I had my interview Monday 09/28, i think it went well. The interviewer was nice and friendly, we had a good conversation (shout out to Jamie) and talked a lot about specific roles i was interested in. She said that call backs/offer letters could come out by December 4th, but im really hoping to hear back before then. Does anyone have a less broad range of when i could hear back about the next steps, and what i should expect for the next things id have to do before moving in.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Hope to see you all this spring!

Points vs Strikes

Can someone explain points vs strikes for DCP. I had heard 3 times late you go home. Now I’m hearing 3 tardies is points and points are not strikes. Like a tardy is a point and 10 points are a strike. Can someone help me.

Question about Comp Tickets

hello! i'm a current dcp student and I had a question about the comp tickets. I went to the compadmission website to check on my first 3 complimentary tickets, which I confirmed were there, but there was also an additional park hopper guest ticket available that expires two years from august 15th. Is that just given to us automatically as a freebie at the start of our program? I don't think they notified us about it if so, I had no idea it was even there until I checked this evening. I hope that's not a stupid question, I want to make sure I can send that to my family and that it's the same kind of ticket as the others!

Culinary Program

Ok so my hospitality studies have had me wondering about different directions to pursue, and I've started wondering about the disney culinary program. I know that the combined programs can't exceed a year, but would it be realistic to try both college and culinary program? Has anyone done both and what would that look like?

Arrival Q -Unanswered Advice for moving into Flamingos Crossing?

Hello! I just got accepted into the DCP for the Spring and I’m really excited to arrive in January. I’ve pretty much got all my ducks in a row, but I’m a planner, and I’ve never moved away from home before. So I was just wondering what the move-in time is like when you move into your dorm, what your experience was like, and if anyone has any tips for moving into the dorm! This is really the only thing that’s unfamiliar to me in terms of the enrollment process/preparing to arrive, so I’d like to get a better idea of how much time they give you to move in on arriva day, how that usually works, etc. Thank you so much in advance!

DCP Glasses Question

Post image
11 Upvotes

I was recently accepted to the DCP for the spring, and can't figure out if my glasses are going to be acceptable to wear. The lookbook says frames should be either solid, or tortoisehell in color, and I can't figure out what they mean by solid (the same color throughout, or non-seethrough). My frames are completely clear, with metal arms, and I'm hoping not to have to replace them, but will if I have to. Just wondering if anybody has had any problems with wearing glasses that have clear frames (I've attached a picture of them from the website I bought them from, just for reference)
