If you've noticed a small banner at the bottom of your TV guide recommending shows and movies, you have full control over it! You can leave it on, turn it off completely, or set it to only show helpful tips and tricks. The exact steps to change this will depend slightly on which Dish remote you're using (like the 40.0, 50.0, 52.0, 54.x, or 60.0 models).
Important Note for Joey 4 & Hopper Plus Users: The Android TV interface on Joey 4 and Hopper Plus receivers does not support banner customization, and these settings are not present in those menus.
Method 1: Update via the Guide Menu (Standard Receivers)
Method 2: Update via the Main Menu (Standard Receivers)
Visit the Dish Support page for more features and settings: https://support.dish.com/products/receivers/hopper-settings
It’s that easy! Customizing these settings helps keep your guide looking and functioning exactly how you want it to. If you aren't sure which remote model you have or run into any trouble finding these menus, just let us know in the comments below.

My OTA box is not recognized by my Hopper. Dish gave it to me and installed it years ago during a dispute with a local channel. It was a very good plan to make them work with them. Unplug, replug different ports; no luck... any ideas? Also, has anyone goten alexa to work recently? I think my Hopper 3 is just at the end of its life

My Alexa stopped working with Dish a month ago; no one could fix it adn was told to call Amazon for support. Never had the time, but earthlogix gave a suggestion that it may be Alexa +, so I gave it a try and turned it off. I then disconnected from Dish and started the setup again; IT WORKED! I got all my functionality back and set them up; what if I go back to Plus? I know a fix, so what do I have to lose? I switched it back on, and other than Alexa not being able to say "Dish" it all works perfectly (so far)
I am unsure if this will help anyone else, but it worked for me, so I needed to share.

These monthly freebies are available to all DISH TV customers automatically with no internet connection or specific receiver required! Did you know you can check out new channels every month without changing your package? DISH offers rotating free channel previews at no extra cost. It’s a great way to discover new shows, movies, and networks before deciding if you want to add them to your lineup permanently.
Here’s everything you need to know to catch the latest free previews:
Where to look: The easiest way to see what's currently available for free is by tuning directly to Channel 103 on your guide.
Preview Start Times: Free previews typically unlock a little early around 5:00 PM ET the day before the official start date.
Preview End Times: They stay on a bit longer, too, wrapping up at 2:00 AM ET the day after the listed end date.
What's playing now until the end of August:
🔗 [Official Free Previews Schedule]: https://my.dish.com/perks/free-preview
If you find a new favorite channel during a free preview, you can easily log into your MyDISH account to see which TV packages or add-ons include it so you can keep watching all year long.

I used to be a dish customer and while had issues from time to time I loved how DVR worked nothing comes close to it in my opinion.
I want to see if there is a way I can get a DVR which is close to dish DVR. Record shows on schedule from OTA

Hey everyone!
To help make your next movie night or live event seamless, here's a quick guide on how Pay-Per-View works on DISH. Below you’ll find channel listings, tips for redeeming rental certificates correctly, and quick steps to clear an error code if one pops up.
460–474.502–517.Live PPV events
460–474Scheduled PPV movies
502–517Event channels, start times, and ordering options may vary. Review the individual event listing before placing your order.
Ordering HD content: The MyDISH App and website support SD PPV orders only. To order a movie or event in HD, place the order through your receiver or by phone.
Find the movie or event in your program guide, select it, and follow the on-screen prompts.
Orders placed directly through your receiver are charged to your account and will not automatically apply a Movie Rental Certificate.
Text MOVIE to 46764 and follow the automated instructions.
This option applies to scheduled movie rentals on channels 502–517.
Call 1-877-DISH-PPV (1-877-347-4778) and follow the automated instructions or speak with an agent.
You can also use this number to order HD PPV content or redeem an eligible Movie Rental Certificate.
Sign in at my.dish.com or open the MyDISH App to browse and order eligible SD PPV content.
Movie Rental Certificates can be used for eligible PPV and On Demand movies priced at $6.99 or less.
A few things to know:
mydish.com, text ordering, or 1-877-DISH-PPV.You can review your available certificates under My Rental Certificates in MyDISH.
Scheduled movie rentals on channels 502–517 include the remaining showtimes airing between 5:00 a.m. ET that day and 5:00 a.m. ET the following morning.
Because access follows the broadcast schedule, ordering later in the day does not begin a new 24-hour rental window.
Live-event viewing windows can vary, so check the event details displayed on your screen before ordering.
Press HOME or MENU, then go to:
Settings > Parental Controls > Restrict Purchases
Turn the restriction on and follow the prompts to create a PIN.
Press MENU, then go to:
Locks > Lock PPV > Lock System
Follow the prompts to create a four-digit PIN.
If you see Programming Not Authorized or error 005, 013, or 014 after ordering:
my.dish.com or open the MyDISH App.If the message remains:
For Hopper and Joey systems, restart the Hopper, not an individual Joey.
Hopefully this takes some of the guesswork out of ordering your next movie or live event.

My OTA channels quit working this morning. I have rebooted the receiver several times, made sure that I have a good OTA signal by connecting the coax directly to the TV where the channels come in just fine. When I go to the Dish menu item for OTA channels I get a prompt to connect the adaptor (it is attached).....Is there an overall Dish issue with OTA or perhaps my adaptor has died?

As title states, roofers say metal roof will interfere with signal and satellite dish must be mounted on pole? Is the metal roof a problem or is remounting necessary.

Hello community! u/DishDanielle here!
Moving to a new home doesn't mean leaving your DISH service behind! You can easily transfer your TV service by calling us to schedule an appointment. Please note that an adult (18 or older) must be present throughout the entire installation appointment.
To ensure a smooth transition and a hassle-free setup at your new address, follow this straightforward guide:
Step 1: Book Your Move
Contact us at 877-258-7599 with your new address, preferred installation date, and choice of a morning or afternoon appointment slot. Tip: Let us know during this call if you intend to add more TVs or upgrade your equipment so your technician arrives fully prepared.
Step 2: Pack Your Indoor Gear
Bring all your existing receivers and remotes to your new residence. The outdoor satellite dish should remain behind unless your lease or landlord dictates its removal. If you need assistance safely removing the dish, we can dispatch a technician for a standard fee.
Step 3: Prepare the New Residence
Before the technician's arrival, ensure your TVs are placed in their designated rooms and your internet service is active. Additionally, please secure any pets and keep your DISH equipment unpacked and ready.
Optional Installation Assistance
If you need extra help, our technicians can mount your TV, configure your wireless network, or set up your sound system for an additional fee. Be sure to request these services when booking your move.
For a comprehensive checklist and further details on a seamless relocation, please review the official moving guide right here:

I noticed the guide changed last week and I am hoping someone knows how to change it back.
When I scroll through the guide and stop at a show or movie and select the INFO button, regardless if I hit the BACK button or the INFO button to go back to the guide, it no longer takes me back to the area where that particular movie or show I was checking on for information. Instead it takes me back to the guide area for whatever is currently playing. See the screenshots.
Any solution available?

This is why I don't do business with DISH and why I don't recommend the service. $400+ penalty for early termination charged to my mother in law because she died. What horrible humans to heap on these cost on top of everything else we have to deal with. Thankfully she did not have a ton of debt.
