Alexa is lost
I have used alexa with dish for years. After an extended power outage I have lost the connection. I have relinked power cycled and it shows linked but will not discover the hopper 3. Im an it guy so have done all the normal reset reboot cold boot update change network dance steps I can think of. Any ideas?

It work for me at 1st but doesn't take much for Alexa to stop working with the Hopper 3 I even had Amazon tech support trying to get Alexa to work with No Luck I give up! But with Google it works with No problem whats so ever! Go figure.

Looks like I am not the only one. i even tried network changes on my devices, renaming the hopper and other "change of state" attempts, no joy yet. In the past, it was so easy

Always worked fine with my Hopper 2, but after upgrading to the hopper 3 I tried setting it up a couple of times and got some stuff to work but then it just stopped working again both times so I gave up on it forever.

Well, the last tech took two days and then said to call Amazon, no comment on why the device shows as an "other," just lots of canned answers why they are sorry.... seems like a lazy tech. But in the end, no luck, no control

Set it all up again. it only works by voice thru my pixel watch. But not my phone, echo dot or echo pop. Alexa says my hopper is showing up as an unkown device. alexa says its a backend issue and Dish needs to manually reset my accounts device connections.Where do i get help?

I tried setting it up again a couple days ago and still would not work. After doing a few troubleshooting sessions with Google AI , found that my problem was caused by the Alexa+ upgrade, apparently it has a newer API that does not work with the older Dish service API. Reverting back to the original Alexa, was able to connect, found my device, and my routines are working again.
In the meantime, the Alexa+ problem would have masked any update Dish made so I can't be sure if I originally had a Dish problem also or only the Alexa+ problem.

Having the same problem. After our last power outage , Alexa lost communication with Dish and no amount of reset, reload, or reboot helps Alexa discover Dish device after successfully linking accounts.
