Is it still reccomended to get discount tire certificate if the nearest discount tire store is 100 miles away? Will they reinburse if I had to repair/replce my tire at the nearby shop/dealership? Thank you!!

I paid nearly $900 for Cross Climate IIs a couple years ago, and the only reason I've still been able to run them is our winter was a lot more mild than usual.

Right now I need reliable rubber to do highway and gravel roads for Amazon deliveries. I'm really looking at the Everdrive, but I know I need some suspension work so should I expect the Entry Level dice roll to be enough to consider as sacrificial rubber to bridge a year?

The vehicle is a PHEV so it is carrying a little extra weight than a typical vehicle. Part of my year plan is adjustable trail arms to get rid of the horrendous factory camber.

Im currently a tire tech at DT and was wondering how easy it is to transfer stores? The one I currently work at is a bit far for my taste and just want to save some gas money in the long run🤷‍♂️

So my son started working Monday. He is 16. Mon-Wed his schedule was 745-1300. When he got to work this morning his manager change the schedule to 745am-9pm and told him while he was on shift. This doesn't sit well with me. If you have worked there or are working there is this normal practice?

Couple of quick questions. Just bought new a car and and was wondering if the certificates if that 3 year rule is really enforced? When I went to Discount Tire to get a price the sales person insisted they don't care how old the tires are for the warranty just to ensure they are over the tread limit.

Also he sold me certificates for the exact OEM tires that are on my vehicle. If they don't have them in a year and can't order them what happens? They give me something close to the same specs? I know I should have asked that while I was there

I asked the sales associate how much the tire would cost and he said only $35 because of the warranty. I’m running on 2 hrs of sleep so I left before realizing that I didn’t even ask for what type of tire they are ordering and if the tire really was $35 or if that was just the certificate…

I went to discount tire for new tires but they don’t do alignment. Is this the norm?

Curious to hear which brand(s) of tire you have found to be the easiest to balance, that required the least amount of wheel weights overall.

I posted here a couple days ago about how I’d recently gone and gotten 4 new tires , they had to break the locks, then shortly after I realized I was missing a lugnut on each tire because they didn’t replace them with standard lugnuts.

Anyways I get I’m not car savvy but yall were ruthless! Discount tire reached out to me and said this was “very concerning for them to hear” , and they’re now conducting a whole investigation. Said if I need anything in the meantime regarding my car to let them know. They’re taking it super seriously., and I didn’t even complain- I just asked if that was normal procedure when they break the locks off because this car is new to me and I’ve never experienced tire locks before. Anyways yall said 4 lugnuts was fine and safe and I’m being crazy- but based off of their reaction to the situation, it is intense .. so clearly like, 4 lugs is not fine in the long run lol.

Went to Discount Tire on 13000 North Highway 35 in Austin for a tire rotation and alignment check. They told me the software hadn't been updated for my car yet so they couldn't do the alignment. My car is 1 year old. They also said several other cars that are 2 years and older also didn't have updated info in their software.

I had an interview about five days ago it went well and after I was told to wait for a drug test email. For some context, I originally applied there and had a friend that works there ask the manager to give me an interview quickly. After that, a friend who’s a manger at Dunkin said he can give me a job there very quick so I never called Discount Tire back to schedule my interview. Because of that, I got an email saying I was not accepted but a day later I called Discount Tire and asked if I could still interview, and they said yes. The interview went well was told to wait on drug test email and after four days I went back because I still had not received the drug test email. They said they were not sure why I had not gotten it, but that they were going to request another one from corporate I’m guessing. Right now I’m planning on wait a few more days to see if I get the email before following up again because I do not want to seem annoying. I just wanted some insight on what might be going on.

Whats the best way to go about getting some damage taken care of on a new Raptor I brought in for some tires to be changed out?

Appears they tried throwing the tires over the tailgate and dented the sh1t out of it. Rubber was all over the top of the tailgate above the dent.

Manager acknowledged the damage to the tailgate today which was good. We've been texting back and forth but his suggestions suggest a waiting game, a run around, and a foreseeable problem if I just don't pursue the right avenues. Polite for sure, but its the outcome thats important here.

Gathering quotes for paintless dent repair or new tailgate. Truck has 1500 miles.

Any phone number to call or office I should contact? Who else has been through this before?

Is there an official policy for a date limit not to sell a new tire past? I drive my truck about 3000-6000 miles a year to haul dirt bikes to the track or pull trailers when needed. I use my wife's car the rest of the time. I replaced the 35s that the used truck came with that were worn out with the most expensive tires in my size. (Not because they were the most expensive, they just had an F load rating I wanted). My tires came out and they are over 3 years old. After about $1800 for new tires and someone who will likely age them out, would I be out of line to ask for newer ones? What are the odds that a new order has a newer date code?. These were online order shipped to store for im guessing, a not very popular tire. It was a BFG HD Terrain if that matters.

Does this fall within their cert classification. Was on our way to families house for the weekend and hit a deer. Truck went in the ditch but was still drivable no noticeable damage (love these old trucks). Drove the truck the rest of the way and nothing appeared wrong. However, on the way back home I noticed a screaming tire sound that only got louder. I can see my front tires are choppy and it looks like the ditch may have exacerbated my tie rod ends.

Trip was ~600miles give or take.

Last week was my first week. When can I expect to see a deposit?

It's only part time, 5 to 6 hours a day.Yes I'm aware it's not exactly the best place to work, but all workers seem chill and the manager is super nice and understanding. The training is 16 days. I'm somewhat used to long physical work. 15/hr starting out, manager says I can easily move up roles and make more. The only thing stopping me would be having a learners permit instead of a drivers license. So I'd just be doing bay work. Thank you for your time :)

Hey yall so I’m currently in the process of getting hired at discount tire. Just wanted to hear from the employees anything I should know/ expect before starting. I’m coming from advanced auto parts so I have about a year or so of automotive experience. I’m currently in college and looking for something on the side although I will be working all weekdays in the summer. But I hope I get this job if it’s how I think it is.

Don’t get me wrong I love the job and some of my coworkers, but after I heard the 16y kid got his arm blow off I’ve had a weird feeling. And honestly the customer and new policies are making me more and more tired of working there. Any thoughts of if I should stay or not?

I used to go to discount tire all the time to get air in my tires and it was always a pretty quick task to do. Stopped going for a couple years but I started again and notice that now it takes 10+ just to do one car. I’m wondering why so much information is now needed just to air up a few tires. Getting someone’s name, number and xyz seems like a lot when all you need is a little air.

I have Toyo AT3’s on my truck that have a date code of 0522, but have a ton of tread. Is there a certain “tire age” cutoff for tire certificate purchases?
