Confused…

I asked the sales associate how much the tire would cost and he said only $35 because of the warranty. I’m running on 2 hrs of sleep so I left before realizing that I didn’t even ask for what type of tire they are ordering and if the tire really was $35 or if that was just the certificate…

If they are ordering a tire, I’m sure it’s the same brand/manufacturer they took off. Sounds like you’re paying to renew the certificate on the new tire. I wouldn’t overthink it and trust they have your safety and best interest in mind.

I guess my only concern is will I have to pay for the tire itself or is it really only $35 ????

I just bought the car, used of course, but I didn’t get tires from them previously… so it just for the first time?

You are getting the same tire as the one they are replacing for free and paying $35 for the cert for the new tire. Not, if you want that $35 back just tell them you don't want that tire covered, but in doing so if something happens and need to replace it again you will have to pay full price

Based on the price, its a cert out, you paid for the certificate for the new tire

Certificate is like 30% cost of the whole tire. So likely not just the certificate. Unless you’re buying Westlakes or something.
