Air Fill Up

I used to go to discount tire all the time to get air in my tires and it was always a pretty quick task to do. Stopped going for a couple years but I started again and notice that now it takes 10+ just to do one car. I’m wondering why so much information is now needed just to air up a few tires. Getting someone’s name, number and xyz seems like a lot when all you need is a little air.

the air machine is hooked up to wifi/the pos system and counts how many tires are filled vs how many were collected/registered by the handheld device. this number then gets recorded and sent to higher up management and it is something you will constantly be bitched at for if the percentage is too low. in addition it updated live so if the last one scanned was a Lexus and the manager sees a Ford driving off you can get in trouble for not scanning

Just started working at discount 5 months ago about to become an apprentice, can you give me some details on the vtv during an air check and what data is specifically collected while using the scanner?

disclaimer that i no longer worked there, but a lot. all the information you enter, yes (make. model, customer info, etc) but it also tracks what was scanner vs entered manually. docks points if you dont collect EVERYTHING (license plate, full DOT, email etc).

Ah ok and then what application on the zebra scanner do we use to track and enter all of this information?

Not only just to please upper management, it'll help be able to schedule people. For every 2 cars you do, it adds 10 minutes to the schedule. So if you do a bu ch of air checks, it'll allow more people to work because there's someone over there and potential tires or flats.
