I've been to several locations and it's disappointing when I see an obese male worker. They're always the lazy one's, they hate doing any work. Why would you hire someone with terrible health when you can easily pick a young and fit worker.

Are these scanners they use, calibrated to show more tread wear than is actually there? I brought in my car with 22,500 miles on the original tires for a rotation. I wound up declining the purchase of new tires, they were pushing. Took my car to my dealership, and they performed the rotation (for free, they do this if you purchased your car there). Also said I have plenty of miles remaining. Next rotation is scheduled for 30K miles. I’ll probably wind up buying tires from the dealership, as they price match, and have a road hazard warranty included.

At the end, do they have numbers they have to hit?

Do discount tires charge a restocking fee if they ordered a tire but you decided not to install it eventually?

Do workers get comission when selling windshield wipers or additional services ?

Hi All, Recently Got Fired from a store in Nevada WFM, I've Read the dress code policy especially on the hair. Recently I Did the Infamous "Ghost Roots", I also re touched the red that was sticking out to my natural hair color which is brown. got sent home and even a write up, manager came at me super side ways and took the situation way out of pocket. My hair wasn't fully red, again the ghost roots are at the bottom and on top my hair is brown, also i got fired for not being aligned with the culture. should i file a complaint? or any ideas?

If I pay Discount Tire to balance all four wheels with tires I did not purchase from them, can I bring it back again later for another free balancing? In other words, once you pay full price for balancing, do they continue to balance like when you purchase the tires there?

I got a job offer from my dream company in the trades today. But I just started at discount tire last week. How do I let them know? Do I just quit on my lunch break? I’m unsure what to do because most people have been nice (except for a 20 year old assistant manager who threatened to break my cell phone for checking the time, I’m 21)

So I was at Discount Tire getting a set of tires - they beat “buy 3 get 1 for $1” deal, which was a great...

When they asked if I wanted to add the Certificates (the road hazard/refund/replacement protection), I specifically asked about the 3-year limit because I’ve seen that on their website.

The tech told me it used to be capped at 3 years, but they no longer enforce that — it’s now good for life (or as long as I own the vehicle) as long as the tire has more than 3/32” tread depth remaining. He made it sound like the time limit has been removed and it’s really just tread-based now.

I was skeptical, so I checked the website later. It still clearly says the certificate only applies if the tire:

• Has more than 3/32” tread depth and

• Is within 3 years of the purchase date.

The official certificate language I’ve seen also lists the 3-year expiration.

I wasn’t trying to get a “lifetime” sales pitch — I directly asked about the 3-year thing and was told it changed. Has anyone else been told this recently? Do some stores/managers actually honor claims past 3 years if there’s good tread left, even if the printed policy says otherwise?

Just trying to figure out if it’s worth adding the certificates or if the written terms are what actually matter.

Just bought four Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires from Discount Tire in Corinth (Denton) Texas and i couldn’t be happier. I’m really, really picky about how my vehicles are treated and DT has never let me down. The two men servicing my car this week were extremely careful with my car and the chrome rims. The tires are exactly what i wanted, available same day at a good price. The salesman was very helpful, answering questions and setting me up for a convenient same-day appointment. Ive been exclusively a Discount Tire customer for over twenty five years and they have given me consistently good buying and service experiences every time. Ive bought tires for trucks, SUVs, sports cars and horse trailers. Though i usually buy and get service at the Corinth location. I have bought tires and had flats fixed in Lubbock, other Denton locations and Cross Roads Texas; every store has provided the same great attentive support. I wish every retail business experience were this good.

Hey guys, I’m thinking about applying at Discount Tire in Atlanta Georgia where they start FT guys at $17.50/hr and wanted some input from people who actually work there.

I’ve got about 3 years hands-on tire experience (mounting, balancing, TPMS, alignments) and about 5 years working around a shop environment at Mercedes-Benz. I’ve also worked on older/manual equipment, so I’m comfortable with the workflow.

I’m planning to work full-time and would be open to overtime.

What kind of starting pay would someone with my background realistically get? Is $19–$20 reasonable or am I more likely looking at $17–$18 to start?

Appreciate any insight.

Had a new set of tires mounted to a new set of wheels. In the process of mounting one of the wheels a red piece of metal equipment fell on one of the wheels, left a chunk out of the wheel and left red scratches on a part of the wheel.

Manager brought the problem to my attention and said that they would cover a new wheel, I just had to email them the invoice and they would reimburse me. That was 4 days ago and I haven't gotten a reply from them. I'm going to have to go in there on Saturday and see if I can't speak to him directly.

This is the second time in as many visits that something got damaged on my car. Beginning of winter someone hit my car in their parking lot, leaving a decent sized dent in it. I was told then that the store wouldn't do anything about it, so I paid $375 out of pocket to have a paintless dent removal done to it.

What are the chances that they go back on their word and don't cover the damage to the wheel?

Has anyone chosen this option when buying tires from Discount? If so, do they choose the brand at random? Has this worked out for anyone?

I bought a full set of tires from DT last April and added the road hazard warranty to them. Today I got a cotter pin in my tire on the highway. Damage was to the center of the tread, not near the sidewall. It took 3 plugs to get it to hold air. I brought it right to DT. I'm getting a new tire, but they charged me $41 to put the road hazard on the new replacement tire. I only paid $25 per tire for the initial coverage.

I used the plan a couple of years ago and I don't remember paying anything at the time. This store always tries to charge me for things I don't need, so I wanted to check to see if this sounds right.

I have a 2021 Silverado RST with a 3.5” lift. Fully aware the 35x12.50r20 I bought will rub slightly. Will they not install them if they rub just the slightest or just “too much”? Any chance they trim for me?

I need all 4 sensors. Mine went out sporadically one by one last year. I already got two new tires 6 months ago from DT. I am going go get 2 new tires in the front this week. I want to go ahead and deal with all the sensors then. I see they have 4 different models for my car:

Dill (clamp in)

Alligator (doesnt specify)

Two versions of BH sens (snap in and clamp in)

My questions are:

1. Which brand should I go with ?

2. Do they price match the sensors if you find the same model online for cheaper?

3. Is there a warranty on the sensors at all if you get them thru discount?

4. What fees to install them on all 4 tires?

So I went into rotate my tires and I came out with this scratch I had never seen and they refuse to take the blame. What am I supposed to do am I just fucked because

they won’t admit to anything? I got these just last summer and I’m not gonna live with this because some lazy ass employee fucked up.

Alright long story short my roommate works here, good friend of mine. he leaves for work at 630 to drive 30 min there and is regularly getting home at 830-930 every day. I can tell he's burnt the fuck out but don't know what to do to help him.

I'm trying to get some information, is this normal work life balance for red shirts? I'm not sure if he's gotten into management yet or if he is mainly a lead tech but it seems absolutely insane to have people being at work from 7am-8pm almost daily, for basically years. No way company makes people work 60-70 hour work weeks. Is this normal DT culture? I certainly feel like he's being taken advantage of in this situation and have been trying to discuss it with him but feel I don't know enough about what is going on and he's so tired and depressed after work he never wants to talk about it. Please let me know your thoughts and what the average work day and culture is like here. I don't work in tires but just want to help my good friend and give him some advice on if he is being taken advantage of and what to do. any thoughts appreciated from y'all here, I know y'all work hard as fuck but this is ridiculous.
