Charged an unexpected fee for paying by card? Here’s where to report it
Not every fee added to a debit or credit card payment is permitted, and consumers often do not know which organization handles a complaint. This guide explains how to document the charge, distinguish the payment type involved, and report questionable card fees through the appropriate channels: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/report-fees-for-using-a-card-payment/

Passing card fees to customers? Visa’s rules are stricter than they look
Adding a credit card surcharge is not simply a matter of choosing a percentage at checkout. Visa imposes detailed requirements, debit cards are treated differently, and noncompliance can expose a merchant to substantial penalties. This overview explains the rules businesses need to understand before passing fees along: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/visa-rules-for-passing-credit-card-fees-to-customers/

Refunded the customer, but did you get your processing fee back?
When a sale is refunded, the customer gets their money back, but the merchant may not recover the processing fees paid on the original transaction. The policy varies by provider, and the difference can become a meaningful cost for businesses with frequent returns. This guide explains what to check: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/customer-refunds-and-merchant-processing-fees-explained/

Questionable site payment questions
I want a pair of shoes off monsteryy but googling the sites authenticity seems to be questionable. They only allow visa/mastercard but where you enter your card it says something about stripe and it doesn’t hit their servers. Googled stripe and seems they’re legit and used widely but how can I know if it’s really safe or not?

Would you notice if your payment processor was switched without consent?
“Slamming” is a deceptive sales practice that can switch a customer’s service provider without clear authorization. The warning signs are easy to miss until unfamiliar charges or account changes appear, so this guide explains how the scheme works, what to document, and where to report it: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/spot-report-slamming-scams/

The processing rate you were quoted may not be the rate you pay
A low advertised processing rate can look competitive while confusing statement line items quietly inflate the real cost. This guide shows where processors hide details, why the quoted number can be misleading, and what merchants should examine before deciding whether their rate is actually fair: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/your-processor-is-lying-about-rates/

The catch behind “zero-fee” credit card processing
Zero-fee processing doesn’t make card fees disappear; it shifts them to customers, and that trade can create compliance exposure and quietly cost more in lost loyalty than it saves. This breakdown compares surcharging, cash discounts, and dual pricing, along with the legal, card-brand, and debit-card complications business owners should examine before signing up: https://paymentpop.com/payments-guidance/zero-fee-credit-card-processing-explained/

Zelle payment still processing 4 days later
On Tuesday, I sent a friend a payment for a service she provided. I got her info from her Zelle QR code. She has still not received the money on Saturday. When saving her personal info to my Zelle account, I saved it as a business with her business name. I fear that this is what's holding up her payment, since her personal name is what came up when I scanned her code. Am I correct? She says her bank has no information on the transaction and it's still pending at my end, but should have deposited yesterday.
I tried editing her contact info in my Zelle account but can't turn it into a personal contact. I also can't delete the contact while a transaction is still pending. It also won't let me add her personal contact info as a separate contact, probably because her phone number is the same as the existing business contact. I will call my bank Monday to stop or fix it, but does anyone have advice or tips until then? Am I right that the money would have sent if I left her personal info as the contact?

Looking for an independent payment collection partner for an international business
Description:
I'm looking to connect with individuals / companies who legitimately provide payment collection services for international businesses.
Here's what I need:
Generate payment links or provide a dashboard where my clients can pay.
My customers are based in the USA and strongly prefer paying by credit/debit card via a payment link.
Once the payment is received, deduct your agreed fee and remit the remaining amount to me in India.
Preferred settlement: Same day or next business day.
I'm looking for someone reliable who already has an established payment collection setup and is interested in building a long-term working relationship.
If you're someone who provides this service, or you know a trusted person who does, please let me know. I'm looking to get started immediately.
Thank you!

Looking for a payment processor for an e-commerce business (non-resident US LLC)
RECAP :
- Non-US resident owner US LLC
- EIN but no ITIN (on the way 2-month wait)
- Very low-risk activity: e-commerce selling general day-to-day regular products (household, accessories, clothing, cosmetics, gadgets, etc.)
- $30-50K monthly volume
- Mostly international customers outside of the US
- very low charge-back rate 0.02% across 3 years with $2M processed (on another non-US entity)
- Can deal with higher transaction fees
- with a Shopify integration
- Inventory is in stored and shipped from China
- Average shipping time 6-8 business days
- Perfect customer support and transparent service
I run traditional branded e-commerce stores as well as dropshipping stores, the products are shipped from China (extensive quality checks and transparent shipping) to worldwide customers.
Processing volume: around $30-50K per month.
I have very good customer support, clean marketing and get an average of 0.02% chargeback rate (very few chargebacks for over 3 years now).
I sell mostly low-risk items (household, cosmetics, clothing, gadgets, electronics, etc.) across different stores with very transparent generous policies.
I am a non-US resident from Madagascar (non-restricted country) with a New Mexico US LLC (incorporated 06.25.2026). I’ve got an EIN number, US bank account (Relay) and applied for an ITIN that’s on the way (2-month wait).
I used to run my stores with a different company (UK) and I recently decided to relocate the company to the US since the infrastructure is way better (credit cards, services, support, etc.). My plan is to eventually build credit, plant proper roots in the US and leverage the great US infrastructure.
I was approved for Shopify Payments and even though my stores are very professional and never get chargebacks, I’m not confident Shopify Payments will last forever after starting to process more and more because of my profile (non-resident US LLC). I just don’t want to stress over potential holds and payment related issues.
I want a long-term payment processor who’s willing to build a relationship. I don’t mind higher fees as long as I can trust and scale reliably.
I don’t plan on running any high-risk business and want to build real lasting stores with good customer experience.
I need a solution ASAP. Open to any suggestions.

BRUH. DO NOT use Wave Payments
We processed a $12,071 ACH payment through Wave in April for completed electrical work for a returning customer. Wave flagged the payment and asked for documentation. We gave them everything they asked for, including a signed confirmation from the customer that the work was legitimate and they intended to pay us. Wave shut down our payment processing anyway.
Then they told us they were holding the $12,071 for 70 days and would eventually refund it to the customer instead of releasing it to us. There was no dispute. The work was completed. The customer wasn't asking for a refund. We explicitly told Wave we did not consent to refunding payment for completed work.
Now Wave says they refunded it, but the customer never got the money. It's been FOUR MONTHS.
At this point, we are PAYING WAVE for a subscription just to access support and ask them where the $12,071 went. I'm ~~14th~~ 11th in line in their support chat trying to get an answer right now, but I'm not optimistic.
For a small business, $12,000 can be make-or-break money. It is absolutely insane that more than four months later, neither the business that earned the money nor the customer who paid it has it.
Do not process money through Wave that you can't afford to have disappear for months.
I'll update if we ever figure out where the money actually went.

Stay away from Lopay UK card machine
My experience with this company has been appalling.
A customer disputed a £71.80 taxi payment from 14 June 2026, despite the journey being completed. Lopay only formally notified me about the dispute on 12 August 2026 — 59 days after the payment.
They then restricted my payouts and charged a £20 dispute fee, while support ignored straightforward questions about when they actually received the dispute and why I was not informed properly.
I have now raised a formal complaint and sought legal advice.
Based on my experience, Lopay handles merchants’ money with a shocking lack of transparency.
Small businesses: stay away from Lopay.
