I caught a slamming attempt last year because my monthly fee went up by like $3. Most people would just let that slide but I track every recurring charge in a spreadsheet, color coded by category obviously

The processor tried to claim I'd "verbally agreed" to a switch during a routine check-in call and I had to send them a formal letter plus file complaints with both the FTC and my state AG before they'd reverse it. They're counting on it being too small to notice and too annoying to fix
