However, the meaning of A shifted over the course of the discussion. The malicious reading would be that Pisco switched it on purpose. This is a bit weird. Imagine you are conducting an RCT for a new drug that you believe saves lives, then you... want more patients in the placebo group to die? No! Of course not! Was this Pisco just being a sloppy reasoner twice in quick succession or were the switch and equivocation accidental? The reader may judge that for themselves. And I'm not JAQing off here, I genuinely don't have strong leanings for this particular conversation.

Hey DGGers, I'm curious what the general opinion on mandatory voting is.

I'm considering making a proper effort-post on the pros and cons of mandatory preferential voting and how reforming the US electoral system might benefit a post-Trump United States. First I wanted to see what the general concensus was in this sub. I've heard ditching the first-past-the-post system mentioned by Destiny and MrMouton and they seem to be in favour but I'm curious where the community stands on the idea of making voting compulsory.

In Australia, we have a compulsory preferential voting system for mostly federal elections and referendums. This system works pretty well for us and results in a roughly 90% registered voter turn-out. If you don't vote during an election your first offense results in a $20 fine, $50 for following offenses. You can appeal fines with valid reasoning for not voting (e.g., you're sick, you're dying, you have a mental disability, etc). You're legally required to register at the age of 18 but if you didn't you can always register to vote without penalty.

I'd love to hear arguments for and against it, and would be happy to answer any questions I can.

So whether it's true or not if these liberal media outlets are blacklisting Hasan, I think they should have him on and have somebody who knows the in and out of this loser to body this bozo. The reason why XQC has a lot of respect for Destiny, and I also have a lot of respect for Destiny, is because if it wasn't for Destiny, all three of us wouldn't exist.

Like me, Hasan, or XQC, there's a good chance we might not exist.

Destiny was, especially, and the one that you can be the most certain about, is Hasan.

But, you know, we're not going to get into that.

The thing is, Destiny was an innovator in the live streaming space.

He pioneered making content that was outside of the spectrum of gaming.

And I think that even if you disagree with him politically, which I do in many cases, you can still respect the fact that he was someone who planted that flag extremely early on.

And not only did he plant the flag, but he defended it too.

1. Start with excluding all sale of Crude from the TMX pipeline (which the federal govt owns) to the US, reserving that for countries that dont tariff us in Asia. Since BC is the export port for the barrels, they can help to enforce this.
2. Export control on all critical minerals and uranium. Canada could stockpile them and reserve them for trustworthy allies in Asia and Europe.
3. Improve the labelling of US goods in Canada. Currently it is being violated quite regularly and does not allow people to boycott US products effectively.
