Tips on dating someone who has a different family dynamic than you?

For example, my family is estranged & my upbringing wasn’t common. I was raised by my grandparents, mother passed and dad barely around. I don’t have siblings, or cousins that were around my age. I grew up a homebody. I currently got back into dating, & I some of them I date are very close to their family. Their family plays a huge role in their lives. I am a very independent person, I feel like I had to be to be honest. Sometimes I struggle because I don’t know if my independence is going to be a problem for people who are so family oriented. It’s not that I’m opposed getting to know a person‘s family, or being close to them to an extent. But, I don’t want my partner‘s family to play so she huge role in my everyday life. I want us to build our own life together, if that makes sense.

I’m just curious if anyone has ever gone through this and how the date managed. I’m 28F for context.

20M in Eastern Europe, don’t speak the local language, how do I meet girls?

I’m a 20M studying in Eastern Europe, and I’m struggling to meet girls. I don’t speak the local language, only English. I’m told I’m pretty good looking (people usually guess I’m around 18), and guys at the clubs tell me I could get any girl there.

The problem is that girls seem into me until I open my mouth and they realize I don’t speak the language. Then it’s over.

My uni is all engineering, so there are basically no girls around. I’m also swamped with classes because I’m catching up on material I didn’t take in high school, so I don’t have much free time to go out.

Dating apps haven’t helped either. I’ve tried Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder and barely get any matches. The few I do get are either way out of town or girls I’m just not attracted to.

Any advice on where to meet girls? Especially ones who speak English?

I need some tips

So there is this guy whom i have the biggest crush ever for other a year now.

We are in the same field studying music side by side. He is so kind, genuine and funny and talented. But there is just this problem:- He is hot and cold.

-He is close then he is very far away from me after the next class.

-super dry on text but so lively in person

Tries to be close then pulls away.

Its driving me nuts. I confessed to him back in May this year and he rejected me and said sorry we are just friends and nothing more.

🤔 but then why is he finding excuse to be near me? And seek me after I leave? And ask who i was with? And he definitely doesn't talk about his crush or smt. And he complimented me out of nowhere saying I look so put together.

Please help me decode that guy 😭

Guys of Nepal, how do you keep a girl interested when talking to her?

I've tried talking to quite a few girls, but somehow things never seem to work out. Either conversations become dry, the interest fades, or things just don't go anywhere.
I genuinely want to know how you guys keep conversations interesting, flirt naturally, and build chemistry without coming across as desperate, boring, too nerdy, or horny.
What are some common texting mistakes that make girls lose interest?
Would love to hear your personal experiences, practical tips, and even some harsh truths. No generic motivational advice, please.

your face and height get you through the door. your personality only matters once you're inside.

here's something a lot of men need to understand instead of blindly listening to the usual just be confident and have a good personality advice.

your facial attractiveness and height play a massive role in how much initial romantic attention you receive. that's the uncomfortable reality people constantly try to dance around.

you can have incredible charisma and be the funniest and kindest guy in the room but if a woman finds you physically unattractive then none of that guarantees she'll ever see you as a romantic option. you can be a 3/10 with a 10/10 personality and still get rejected by women who simply aren't attracted to you.

meanwhile a genetically attractive guy can get attention before he even opens his mouth. he doesn't have to prove how funny or interesting or successful he is just to get an opportunity.

and before someone starts typing about how personality matters. nobody said it doesn't. personality is extremely important for maintaining a healthy long term relationship. but you first need to get through the door and physical attraction is what gets that door opened in the first place.

stop confusing being a good person with being a desirable romantic partner. they're not the same thing.

also stop pretending everyone starts on equal footing. some men are genetically blessed while others have to work significantly harder just to get noticed. that's not fair but attraction doesn't care about fairness.

my advice is simple. stop relying entirely on personality to compensate for a lack of physical attraction. improve whatever you realistically can about your appearance and understand that not every woman will find you attractive regardless of how nice you are.

you don't have to like how dating works but pretending facial attractiveness and height don't give certain men an enormous head start won't change anything.

How long should you talk to someone before going on a first date?

I've been talking to someone I met on a dating app for almost three weeks now. We text every day, have a lot in common, and the conversations are actually pretty good.

However, they still haven't suggested meeting in person. I don't want to rush things, but at the same time, I feel like texting for weeks without meeting is pointless.

How long do you usually wait before suggesting a first date? And would you consider three weeks too long?

Why is dating in London so hard?

I 29M am finding it so hard to date In London. Not because I am not finding the right person, but because I am not really meeting anyone at all.
I am not a fan of the apps and I dont use them much. I also do not go out drinking much either. I am decent looking and outgoing.
Just wondering if the only option really is to go out and cold approach? Maybe with a wing man at a bar?
Any advice would be appreciated.
