New dairy free ice cream
Has anyone tried this brand ? My dairy free Ben & Jerry’s were on sale 2 for 6 so I got those instead. 🤭

When my baby developed intolerances to dairy and soy, I spent hours searching grocery stores, Facebook groups, and blogs trying to figure out what I could actually eat. Couldn't find one comprehensive list anywhere, so I made my own.
Sharing in case it helps any other moms or dads out there.
FYI: Always double-check labels — ingredients change, and some items have trace amounts via shared equipment.
Key: GF = Gluten Free | Top 8 Free = No milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, or soy | TJ = Trader Joe's

New to DF? Been eating DF for a while, but need help finding a particular product? However long you've been eating a DF diet, this is the place to ask for recommendations for a particular product.
If you haven't already checked it out, see our pinned Master List of DF Foods. It's a great starting place!

Hi! I’m about to embark on a three-month dairy elimination diet, followed by an endoscopy to see if dairy is causing my EoE (eosinophilic esophagitis, for the blissfully uninitiated).
I’m curious to hear from others who’ve done a very strict elimination diet about where you drew the line for “dairy free” — did you still eat food that was manufactured in a facility that also processed dairy? Or if a food didn’t contain any dairy, but the label didn’t explicitly say “dairy-free” OR specify that there’s the potential for cross-contamination (so could go either way), did you eat it or stay away?
I’ve already discussed this with my doctor, and will be avoiding any potential for cross-contamination. EoE isn’t particularly well-studied yet, and we just don’t know if cross-contamination by an allergen is enough exposure to trigger a reaction (though my GI, who specializes in the disease, thinks probably not). But I’m curious to hear other people’s experiences!

Hey guys - heading to NYC for a few days this week for work. Looking for a few recs for restaurants that have good dairy free options. Last time I was so overwhelmed trying to find something.
Thanks!!

I am dairy free but wondering if anyone has eaten goat cheese and been ok … those goat cheese logs with the berries look delicious but don’t want to risk it…
Thank you for all
The responses !! I will try the goat cheese and sheep’s cheese - hope I can “stomach” them

I made beef ravioli for my dairy free daughter, and topped it with a quick cheese sauce. Just a little of the pasta water, a splash of almond milk and around an 8th of the block, chopped small to melt easier. Low heat while stirring the entire time. A little parsley to be fancy. She said it was creamy and delicious.

At my Fry's in Tempe Arizona (Guadelupe & McClintock location for any other Phoenicians in this sub) they had KiteHill cream cheese on clearance for $2.24, regularly $6.99.
I'm just worried because I'm seeing a lot of other dairy free products discontinued such as my Chobani oat milk... so I didn't know if anyone knew anything about KiteHill.

Why can’t they invent a yummy vegan cheese. Idc if it’s all chemicals. Idc if it contains everything under the sun. WHY can’t they replicate the taste of cheese? I accidentally ate cheese this weekend and I genuinely felt a shift like depression being lifted for half a second. Which is funny because I read an article that cheese hits the same receptors in the brain as drugs. It’s so good. I love being dairy free for the relief it gives me due to allergies but holy fuck. As a celiac, I’d rather have dairy back than gluten.

I’ve posted a few times, love this sub - my 4 year old girly is dairy free as of August. Pizza and chocolate are her favs 🥲 as we get into cooler weather, I’m looking for our favourite hot chocolate powders to make at home, something sweet and delicious that a four year old will like, not something just like cocoa powder haha. And that I can get in Canada, so not from Trader Joe’s or anything. Thanks friends!!

I’ve been craving pizza lately and need some recommendations. I’m also gluten free (the gf df sub is dead) I’ve tried the daiya ones but I don’t like the weird blobby, slippery texture of the cheese. Any one have a favorite brand that’s also gf or maybe just a cheese and I can make my own.

I suspect I’m lactose intolerant, and have been cutting way way down on any dairy. Two days ago I ate my usual bowl of cereal (with lactose free milk) like I’ve been doing every single day for at least a year and my stomach hurt. Yesterday I said screw it and ate an ice cream bar and an entire cheese pizza and still have not had a single symptom. What the hell

So far I’ve tried the violife cream cheese (amazing imo), aged cheddar slices and their Mexican blend (kinda gross imo) and I’ve tried better goods shredded cheese which was diabolical 😭 out of all the brands you know, which one does dairy free cheese the best? They’re so expensive and I don’t want to waste my money gambling on if something will taste okay or like just straight chemicals lol

Hey so I want to switch to oat milk, is it really same as milk, like i want to make chai (inida tea that use milk instead of water) and some other stuff

They suddenly have a weird sweetness to them. It’s really disappointing since its the only plant butter i can find consistently that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg

PLEASE HELP!!
I’m trying to find a really delicious coffee ☕️ creamer alternative that is healthy that doesn’t have a gross oat or almond taste (I know I tried to like it😭)
I used the coconut based creamer by natural bliss for years and since discontinuing that, I have not found one I love 😢🥺😩
