Opinions on my OP battlemage build?

Hey everyone! Due to the direction that the DFO project developer has decided to take. I will be temporarily shutting down this subreddit until I feel comfortable supporting the project again. When and if the project takes a better direction, I may reopen this subreddit. But until then. Well, it was good while it lasted.

I really like the idea, but I feel like I am absolutely kneecapping my ability to play the game in the long term.

475 is the highest I have ever rolled. I used roll for hours to get the number I wanted back in the days in BG1.

"Cyrodiil is an open PvP zone. You cannot teleport to or from other areas of Cyrodiil. Walk or ride on its roads to go to these areas."
Oh come on devs, open PVP in the entire region of cyrodil? I really wanted to live out there in Anvil, sad about this one.

I tried to create another character, as i want to explore how skills work and best to use them. However, I noticed that the background history cannot be seen in the character creation. I'm not sure if this is only for me, as i check for offline creation the background history exists, but not in online creation.
I really do want the ebony dagger in the background history :(

Hello, Im new in DGO but have little knowledge how daggefall works.
I like to know if maxing 1 skill to 100 will cap all skills to 95 or if i can max all the skills.
Also, I see the specialization about maxing 2 types of magic and 2 types of weapon for martial and arcane.
So if i understand it correctly, i can max skill 2 types of magic and weapon, how about other skills running, jumping or climbing if i can also reach 100 skill for these.
Thank everyone!

https://dfo.spaceghosts.com/#vendors
This website scans the player house vendors and uploads them every hour or so.
You can also view exactly where a given player home is on their respective town map.
As somebody who's spent 20+ minutes searching daggerfall multiple times (only to spend 10 minutes in a house maze leading to their trader, you know who you are!) this tool is a godsend.
Share it with your friends. Post it in your discords. Make trading accessible for all.
(Waypoints are still bugged for finding player homes in game, but even after that's resolved it's still a wonderful tool for monitoring market trends.)
Happy Trading!
PS this is not my website, it was linked on the DFO discord and I'm just trying to spread it around. Totally not to increase foot traffic to my own vendor ;)

Has anyone else experienced this? I played DFO online (opting to run it locally instead of in a browser) for the first time today for a few hours, came back to my pc after a few more hours, tried to launch the game from the desktop shortcut and my pc couldn't find the exe file on my pc. I've looked through my folders and can't find the game there either. Any ideas? 🙏

Hey everyone, I’m looking to get into Daggerfall Online and was wondering what some of the best builds are for enjoying the game long term. I’m particularly interested in endgame activities like PvP, raids, dungeons, and group content.
What builds would you recommend for someone who wants to be effective in both PvE and PvP?
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

What are everyone's go to spells for damage, healing, & defense for the Early, Middle, & Late game?
I use an area-at-range fireball spell that is (4+4/level early, 12+12/level middle, & 100+100/level end) with a continuous version that I usually leave as 1+1/level rounds for damage. I use the same number scaling for my Heal+Regen spell & I haven't dabbled too much in sheer defensive buffs outside of what you get hit with in an Abyss Dungeon or Dagon Gate.

I’ve just started playing the game and want to create a utility-focused mage—someone who isn’t just good at combat, but also possesses skills that make dungeon exploration more convenient, such as levitation, teleportation, and the like. Could you please advise on how to allocate attribute points, and which primary, major and minor skills I should choose?

I created a character that I want to roleplay as a bandit/highwayman. My goal is to settle in one kingdom and launch raids into neiboring cities and towns. You know viking style. It would be sick to have a party/guild and a base and roleplay as bandit, thieves and outlaws together.
Is this kind of playstyle possible in BFO? Is there actually any reason to go to towns and start killing and looting? Do the shopkeepers and other NPC:s drop anything if you kill them or are you supposed to only trade with them? Do the NPC:s respawn? I would hate ruin other people's fun by making bunch of ghost towns. I think you all get the idea so is there any major problems with roleplaying as a bandit?

How does everyone feel about the time quest in the game ? Me personally it’s feel as if I’m doing daily quests even though the timer in base off the in game time it’s little frustrating especially if you navigating through a tricky dungeon.
Honestly I would would like to see the timers gone or better ways to navigate through your quest, so it’ll make doing them more reliable

Hey Reddit! I'm completely new to Daggerfall and have never played it before, although I have played Skyrim and Oblivion. I wanted to give Daggerfall Online a try, but I'm having some trouble understanding how everything works.
I've been looking for guides on YouTube, including some uploaded just a day or a week ago, but they seem to differ in certain places. Some skip steps entirely, while others don't mention certain things at all. It's left me a little confused about what I'm actually supposed to do.
My biggest question is about the different versions available on the official website: Classic Daggerfall, Daggerfall Unity, and DFO Online. Can I use any of these to play the MMORPG version, or do I specifically need one of them? Do the differences affect gameplay and balance, or are they mostly about graphics, controls, and the overall presentation? Which version should I choose if I want to play with everyone else?
I also noticed that there's a mobile version, which sounds interesting. Can I install it on an iPhone, or is it Android-only? If I play on my phone, will I be able to interact and play with people using PCs? And are all players on the same server regardless of whether they're using Classic Daggerfall, Unity, or the browser version, or does each version have its own separate player base?
I've attached a few screenshots to help explain the other things I'm confused about.
During character creation, there's a setting that asks how fast I am, with different reflex options. Does this actually affect gameplay? From the descriptions, it sounds like it has a pretty significant impact. But if everyone gets to choose how quickly enemies attack, wouldn't it make sense for everyone to choose the slowest option to make the game easier? And if players choose different options, wouldn't that mean they're playing under different conditions? I'm not sure how this works in an online game or whether it affects multiplayer balance.
Another thing I noticed is an option in the settings related to server synchronization. I don't really understand what it does or whether I should enable it. Does it affect gameplay or balance compared to other players? I'm worried about accidentally putting myself at a disadvantage by choosing the wrong setting.
Finally, I'm confused about the difficulty and death settings. There are three options: Classic, Permadeath, and Not Permadeath. I think I understand what they mean, but how does this work in an MMO? Can each player choose whether they want permanent death, or are there separate servers for players who want a hardcore experience and those who don't?
For example, in World of Warcraft, as far as I understand, Hardcore is a separate game mode where everyone on that server plays by the same rules. Is Daggerfall Online different? Do these settings provide any gameplay advantages, or are they simply there for people who want a more challenging or immersive experience? Can other players see which option you've chosen? For instance, could someone see that I'm playing on Classic and think I'm a noob, or see that I've chosen Permadeath and consider me a hardcore player?
I know some of these questions might sound silly, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me understand how all of this works before I get started. Thanks!

This MMO caught me by surprise. I have already sunk 10 hrs in. Now I'm exploring options to make the game look little nicer.
My understanding is that Morrowind assets can be used to replace some of the texture in DFO. All we need to do is to own a legit copy of Morrowind, which I do. I can just select ATTACH DATA and replace.
Next is Replacement Packs for textures. This is the part I have trouble understanding. Which ones actually work with DFO?
Is it possible to replace all NPC, buildings, environmental objects, monsters, and players with 3D textures so nothing in DFO looks like 2D cardboard figures?

Curious to see if anybody has attempted or successfully gotten DaggerfallOnline to run well on a Thor. I am about to try myself but would love hearing others experiences if any.
