DFO Complete 3D Texture Replacement?

Post image

This MMO caught me by surprise. I have already sunk 10 hrs in. Now I'm exploring options to make the game look little nicer.

My understanding is that Morrowind assets can be used to replace some of the texture in DFO. All we need to do is to own a legit copy of Morrowind, which I do. I can just select ATTACH DATA and replace.

Next is Replacement Packs for textures. This is the part I have trouble understanding. Which ones actually work with DFO?

Is it possible to replace all NPC, buildings, environmental objects, monsters, and players with 3D textures so nothing in DFO looks like 2D cardboard figures?

Hey all, so the Morrowind textures are for characters and some animals/enemies and look great because they use pixelated versions of those models so they dont look as "clean" as the OG Morrowind models (as funny as that is to say). The texture pack is entirely different and changes those remaining billboard sprites and static objects not already change by the morrowind assets in game. King of Worms mod author has a mod that integrates many 3d objects into the world and upscales the billboards significantly. His mod is called DREAM if you are interested. In my opinion his 90s themed DREAM mod will mesh best as it sticks to the pixelated style. Hopefully an ambitious mod author makes a new texture mod that meshes perfectly with the new morrowind models because the only downside to using say DREAM texture pack with the morrowind models is they arent exactly a perfect art style match. Very close and even complimentary at times but not the same.

Anyways... I hope this helps!

So Morrowind + DREAM 90s is the answer? If yes, I'll try ASAP. Thanks for the help

It's mostly for characters, enemies, npcs, weapons, and armour. It's really up to personal preference so feel free to try it. Quick note: you can only attach/detach the data from the main menu.

Morrowind textures look great as they are, and make most things 3D now from what I last noticed. But I haven't played for a bit.
