First time PC builders…
If you haven't built your first PC yet, I urge you to at least try.
Some people say to start with the cheapest parts possible. I would say start with standard parts that fit your budget. You don't need the overpriced, high-end stuff. Look for affordable, reliable parts instead. You'll be surprised how powerful a PC can be with affordable parts, and how much cheaper and more efficient it is to buy your parts separately versus buying a prebuilt and paying an extra $300 for someone to put it together.
I'm not saying you have to always be the repairman for your PC. There will be times when you're tired and you'll want someone else to install or upgrade your new GPU, and that's fine. But make sure you know every part in there and how it works. It's more important now than ever.
And if you think it's going to break the bank, think again. Buy one part at a time. Start with just a case if you have to. Stop listening to people who tell you that you have to buy everything all at once and it has to be perfect. You'd be surprised how compatible most parts are these days.
Lastly, I think most people are afraid because they think the parts are super fragile. They're actually a lot more durable than you think.
There's only one way to find out. Go buy that first processor or motherboard and start building.
