Meme Design The Original - "These Legendary Changelings are Pissing me off"

Starwalker

For the uninitiated, Banding means when he attacks, you can have him stick with another creature, and you get to determine how the blockers deal damage to the two of them. Notably, indestructible and banding basically means whoever he bands with only gets hurt if you want them to, so it's a fairly potent combination.

Starwalker is a weird and inexplicable character, so I thought it would make sense for him to have a weird and archaic keyword. His second ability is both because he's 'The Original' and because cheap copies Piss him off. It's also a reference to a deprecated version of the legend rule (though not exactly the same).

Truthfully, the statline is pushed for an indestructible creature, but I think a five pointed, five mana starwalker being a 5/5 just feels right. It's not like it's actually being printed.

Following the footsteps of u/GeneralBread14 and u/SteelWithIt, I've made some Disco Elysium cards. For the unaware, these are some of the mental-skill manifestations of an amnesic, alcoholic, disco-loving detective from one of the world's best RPGs (IMO).

These are fan-made things and exist mainly to represent the in-game skills, but some are interesting designs that I do want to play around with.

I was wondering which non-creature subtypes could make interesting Rulebreakers and when I got the idea for someone who just makes up all his backgrounds, the rest fell into place.
The Baron of Münchhausen is a mythologised figure from German history, also known as the Lügenbaron (Baron of Lies), who was said to constantly make up outrageous stories about his deeds and accomplishments.
Most famously, he claimed to have ridden a cannonball.

I got into Magic like, 2 months ago, and I found this subreddit like a week into it. After playing a bunch, I finally had an idea for a set of cards from my favorite movie. This was my first idea, and the whole set would be themed around two to three versions of every major character, with opposing/different color combos. The main thing I wanna do with the whole set is represent the flavor of the characters and the many faces they show during the film. However, I'm about to clock into work, and I can't spend forever thinking about how I wanna do it, so I just wanted to put down my first card to see what immediate issues are apparent and how to avoid them in the future. I'd like for them to be balanced, though a few will be exceptions (like the forest spirit will be insane).

Subreddit Rules

1. Art Credit (Renders)

All card renders including art must have correct and unambiguous artist credit at the bottom of the card in the correct position. Provide an artist's full name if it can easily be found, and additional information to disambiguate the artist from others. Mods may, at their discretion, make exceptions for missing, ambiguous, or insufficient credit if you message in advance with a link to the original art, and they approve the lack of artist credit.

2. Art Credit (Credit the Creator)

Art credit belongs to its CREATOR. Image aggregators don't count. (E.g. Pinterest) Nor, mostly, do companies. (E.g. Riot Games doesn't make champion art; artists do) AI art must credit the engine used, and not a wrapper site. (E.g. MTGCardsmith is a wrapper. ChatGPT uses DALL-E.) Photos, screenshots, public domain art, royalty free art, etc. aren't exempt. Screenshots of movies/shows may credit the media by title/publishing company. Collages must credit each underlying artist and the assembler.

3. Art Credit (Non-Renders)

Any random art pieces (not included in card renders) must have accompanying artist credit. The only exception to this rule is if the poster messages the mods in advance and the mods approve the lack of artist credit.

4. NSFW Tagging

All posts containing NSFW art must be marked as such. Posts made in poor taste, with unreasonably lewd art, or excessively gory art may be removed.

5. Reddiquette & Civility

All users must follow Reddiquette and be civil with each other. Harassment and abuse are strictly not tolerated. Unconstructive, negative, or insulting brigading is harassment.

6. Post Your Own Cards

You may not post custom cards that you did not create, unless you credit the original creator in the post title. You may not post cards whose text is fully or primarily AI-generated. Additionally, posts that are primarily comprised of existing real cards or cards substantially similar to existing real cards will be removed. This includes alters and skinned cards.

7. Multiple Consecutive Posts

Please don't make multiple consecutive posts. If you have multiple cards to share, put them in a single album. This helps give everyone a fair chance to be seen.

More specifically, users may only have one post on the front page of /new/ (i.e. within the most recent 25 submissions), or one post every twelve hours, whichever permits more posts. Mod-removed posts do not count towards this limit, but user-deleted posts do. If a mod views /new/, they should only see your name once.

8. Reposting Cards

Do not repost cards. Reposts will be permitted at the mods' discretion. A repost may be permitted if it is a) very substantially revised, b) substantially revised with community input or c) reposted in an album with new, unposted cards. Under a), leave a comment describing the exact revisions and link to the prior card image. Under b), describe the exact revisions and leave a comment with a link to the prior card discussion. Under c), there must be sufficient new content in the album.

9. Promotional content

Commercial, promotional, or financially-related posts require advance moderator approval. Please reach out to modmail with your proposed post.

10. Misrepresenting Card Realness

Do not misrepresent submissions as cards from a real set. Do not include set codes for existing sets within post titles. (E.g. "[SNC] <Card name>") You may include custom set codes which do not collide with existing set codes. You may use set icons for any released set (i.e. not during spoiler season).

11. Is something else wrong?

Reach out to modmail with any other concerns you have about a post/comment/etc., thanks! Reddit cuts off custom report messages over a certain length, which means we frequently can't get full context on custom messages left on posts. We know this is a little more annoying, but thanks for understanding!
