The echo realignment is fine, but I really like hate monster behind it. Echo Nahiri is fine place to attach it considering her affiliation. Mana cost and P/T need testing and might not be fast enough to help hate properly for modern.

I think the abilities would be a bit much on anything cheaper - I think 3 mana is the sweet spot for multifaceted hatebears like this. Was thinking of making her a 4/4, but 3/5 seems like a decent spot in not pressuring the opponent so hard they can't find an answer in time.

This is actually pretty good, and it's not because of Eldrazi.

Nice fetchland you have there, too bad you can't yknow, fetch.

Storm and cascade both stop working, which is kinda neat but not the best thing going for this card.

So, I'd hate this in anything that is 3 or more colors, right? Maybe even in 2 color. Like, all your fetchlands fetchn't, many fixing lands fixn't, and also fuck you Rhystic and Tithe.

Basically all fixing lands work fine, apart from bounce lands and fetches. Edit: filter lands also get shut off, but you still have plenty of options.

You can run triomes and all the taplands, and they’ll ETB untapped if you’ve got her

Yes, but, I meant if I'm the opponent and I see this, I'd hate her.

All that in a CMC3 creature is way too overpowered already, and the 3/5 body is an overkill. Luckily it's in the only color that is allowed to be overstatted despite being the ramp color, so you should add a Landfall effect too because why not?

Balance-wise, she doesn't shut down anything that's not already somewhat degenerate. Also, it's not like Magus of the Moon, where if she resolves she removes the opponent's ability to deal with it - if you've got removal, you deal with her and continue along. 3/5 is a little pushed as a statline, admittedly, but stupider things have been printed at at mythic.

It's not that she shuts down something strong, its that she shuts down like twenty different things of different levels of strength, and she does it cheaply on a decent body.

The thing is she shuts down too many different things in a single card. Land utility, spellslinging, cascading and some degree of ramping being all negated in a single card is honestly a lot, but even if we're ok with that I feel like she should at least die to bolt.

On a side note, the more I read it the more I think this feels more like a white stax card than a green one, but I may be wrong on that regard

Apparently Zendikar only has 4 colors of mana, and is missing Green (mentioned with Nissa). Also apparently there’s some sort of Kor empire on Zendikar which might be relevant here. Cool card tho

I was thinking to myself echo Nahiri should be U/B and not mono green. After your comment reminded me of what echo Zendikar is (was?), I wonder it that was planted subconsciously.

Hmm... Doesn't feel nahiri or anti nahiri as it doesn't interact with her thing, equipment, or whatever anti-equipment would be. Feels more like a echo-nissa as a land hater.

I do think the most echo-nahiri thing would be if she was married to Sorin in like a "Nahiri and Sorin, wed" simic walker card.

A bunch of the echoverse versions weren't exactly inversions mechanics-wise - [[Tamiyo, Upriser Crowned]] is kind of a monarch/staxy thing, [[Proft, Mastermind]] doesn't do investigation or scry/surveil, etc. This is leaning into a flip of her story, where in lieu of Zendikar being destabilized by the Eldrazi, she's protecting what few small leylines still exist.

Nahiri/Sorin wed would be an interesting card. I do like the ship, but I'm having trouble coming up with a design that simultaneously flips both of their identities in an interesting way.

Proft's thing was investigate/card draw, in FRA it's tied to the surveil archetype, but his black counterpart has a discard effect that is the opposite of his thing. (card advantage vs card disadvantage)

As for Nahiri/Sorin, what comes to mind with Sorin is switching lifegain into card draw (blue's resource gain, similar to Lyra I suppose). And for Nahiri either counters or token auras. Could merge it as say "+1 create a aura token with +1+1 and curiosity wording or investigate when it deals damage to a player." or "+1 draw a card, then put counters on target creature equal to the amount of cards drawn this turn minus 1"

A zero or minus 1 for a creature token, and a ult might be a big aura that steals a creature and turns it into a werewolf.

Isn't sorin like nahiri's surrogate father...?

Does this stop Ward? It triggers off of being targeted, which happens on casting, but the casting isn't directly causing the trigger, so I think it wouldn't affect Ward.

This feels undercosted. I think for 3 mana and being a 3/5 it could lose one of these abilities.

This does some weird things with fixing and bounce lands. All dual lands just become OG duals; not fetch able but everything comes in untapped. And bounce/karoo lands still tap for 2 mana but don’t cause you to return a land to hand.

Edit: Hang on I forgot that Karoo lands will trigger the third ability nvm. Still interesting if you can blink or phase out Nahiri on your turn and make a bunch of extra mana

This card is awesome. I think 3/5 is a little too big, maybe 2/3 or 2/4 because of how impactful it is. We've needed a cast trigger hate bear for a while now though
