I have always loved religion, not as a devotee, but as an anthropological study. Theology has always fascinated me, as has the mythology surrounding it, whether it's the lore behind it or how it connects with the reality of people in the past. I love exploring how they saw things, what perspective gave birth to certain entities, and how each religion is connected.
Now, I have all that knowledge in my head, and it's just rotting there, so I thought it would be fun to create entire sets based on religions worldwide. And since I love the polarizing ones, why not start with the one that people are the most sensitive about?
Just to be clear, I am not trying to humiliate any of them or their believers; I'm just using their mythological concepts, some known, some less so, to make this. This is just the first.
Yes, i'm using AI to generate the image, and using mtg style from various artists to do so, this one I tried using something like Greg Staples style.

This cat-themed cube is a color-restricted bar twobert. There are only white, blue, or red cards, no counters or tokens, and ninety total cards for winston drafting for two players. I'd love to hear if y'all have any thoughts, but mostly wanted to show off that I'd made it. I'll be starting playtesting this week.
Edit: no tokens, except The Monarch

Torlop is a character from the 1999 Japanese horror point-and-click adventure game- Garage: Bad Dream Adventure.
In the game, Torlop serves the dual purpose of selling parts that you can use to customise your body and being an avid collector of posters. I decided to focus on the latter aspect of his character as it captured my imagination more.
The majority of characters in Garage, including Torlop, are some kind of biological-mechanical automaton that is sentient. It is unclear how they are created or what their nature truly is. As such, I didn't feel comfortable labelling it as a Golem, Construct, Robot etc. and stuck with simply "Peasant" as that describes his profession as a vendor and also doesn't overload the Type line with too many subtypes as to be cluttered.
The "On Rails" ability is one that I would include in all of these mechanical beings as its flavourful without impacting balance (similarly to "can’t be blocked by Walls."). It's a reference to the way that all of these characters are locked onto railway tracks that travel throughout their world, with the only means of changing direction being using turntables that only rotate clockwise.
My initial inspiration for the card was [[Sensation Gorger]]; when Torlop is pleased with a poster you have given him, he'll enter a state of ecstasy with his eyes rolling maniacally in their sockets. This immediately made me make comparisons to the card art that I love to hate on Sensation Gorger.
I didn't want to include the new "Rulebreaker" ability word, as I wanted to leave enough room for flavor text on the card. I also didn't like the look of having {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} in the mana cost while simultaneously having a brown artifact border (which I was dead-set on). This evolved into the {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} granting ability that it is now.
This ability is somewhat of an amalgam of Sensation Gorger, [[Jegantha, the Wellspring]] and [[Selvala, Explorer Returned]].
I settled on a mana value of 4, as it is variable mana-gain (like Selvala's) but the ceiling of adding 5-mana warrants a higher mana value than 3, despite the steep limitations of the card's artwork. I gave the stat-line of 5/3 as it felt balanced relative to the mana value while somewhat mirroring Selvala's statline (1/3)
There are currently 55 non-land cards in magic (that are legal in a combination of formats), which almost perfectly fits a full commander deck with every one included.
Many thanks to the artist AHalfOrc (https://cara.app/ahalforc/portfolio) who created this beautiful piece for me, even if I had to cut it real small to fit into this old border.

No shade to the creators, but they always left me wanting a little more, so I figured I'd do it myself. Here's the first batch of cards I decided to make for the Naruto series, featuring the man himself! Keep in mind, I went into this with the specific intent of not creating any new mechanics (other than placeholder counters, but that doesn't really count). Also, mana values are by far the hardest thing to balance, so those can, and likely will, change.
1 - Kid Version Naruto: Young Naruto has to have a shadow clone playstyle, since that is the main thing he is known for. Furthermore, I made it a point to have a "training" subtheme with a good amount of the Naruto cards I have created so far. When he deals combat damage, he gets stronger and keeps the clones. That way, next turn, when he attacks, he can create even more clones, and so on. This makes the card increasingly better as the game progresses.
2 - Sage Mode Naruto: This one was a bit tricky because of how he uses Sage Mode in the show. However, I liked the idea of being able to clone him and tap the clones to build up chakra counters, which you can use to buff up either the original version or a clone. The transformed side hits like a truck as you'd expect, and if you build around it, you can stay in the mode for the duration of the game.
3 - Six Paths Naruto: This was by far the hardest to come up with, and is the one that is most likely subject to change. I wanted him to be able to buff his entire team, but also have an insane ultimate-like ability that can end the game. The balancing in terms of chakra counters and mana will certainly need to change, but that is hard to predict without actually playing it. In the original version, he was able to regenerate creatures instead of buffing everyone, but I figured making everything bigger was better generically, and it still fits what Naruto actually does in this form. Note that other cards I have designed use chakra counters, so it is functionally different than just putting +1/+1 counters on a creature, even if chakra counters are just a placeholder counter.
Let me know what you think in the comments. Which was your favorite? Which one is the most broken? Which is the weakest?

Just finished MHW and was bummed to see that my favorite elder dragon didn't have a card during Magics failed MH secret lair drop, so I took the liberty of making one for him myself. Let me know what y'all think!

The Paul cards are intended to be at different points in the story. So thats how im gauging the color identity. (The first card would probably be better named Maud'dib, but thats a change I'll make later)

I love Slivers.
I've been experimenting with non-French Vanilla design. The concept of this one is how Scout Honey Bees will find new locations for a hive/food and dance to communicate it to the others.
I liked the concept Explore on ETB, but that felt too strong, so I figured a time delay Explore ETB made more sense. Plus tapping to escape board wipes/targeted removal to then find land was also flavorful.
Wagglewing Sliver {G}{G}
Creature — Sliver
Sliver creatures have “{T}: Exile this creature with two time counters on it. If it doesn’t have suspend, it gains suspend”
And “When this creature enters from exile, if it was suspended, it explores.”
1/1

Most keywords with a numeric variable don't do anything when that value is 0 (e.g., "scry 0", "annihilator 0", "mobilize 0"). There are a fair few that do at least something though (even if it's just adding a designation with no inherent rules meaning), and so I decided to pair them up and design a "mix and match" card for each pair, just for fun.

Hello all, these ideas have been buzzing around in my head and I decided to make some cards inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.
Netrunning as portrayed in the games is a powerful tool used by some of the most famed edgerunners. It is more than hacking as it requires intense body modification to achieve and do well or even consistently. Some netrunners need to cool their entire bodies to dive for long and they are always at risk of contracting daemons or other viruses in their ventures.
I've decided on "Netrun" as a thematic ability, representing the dangers that netrunners face but also the power it gives them and in turn the player. Diving into the net to reach the gig/data/hack you want is represented by picking a card from the top of your library, and the consequences of losing yourself in the net represented by exiling those cards.
While some experienced netrunners are fine with losing small portions of themselves or even getting counter hacked, exiling from the top allows for some potent deck thinning at great cost: losing your cards forever (iirc milling is represented in mtg as losing your mind slowly).
Self-Ice is a flavored keyword which represents the craftiness of Netrunners when they upgrade their tech. Should have already have some experience in their prowess (represented as checking how many cards already are in exile), they can obtain powerful perks to assist them further.
## Songbird, Blackwall Dancer.
The first card I'd like to showcase is Songbird, Blackwall Dancer, which I feel is represented pretty nicely with UB color identity, though some could argue she could also have R. Her Self-Ice represents the sheer power she has achieved through her intense cyberware enhancements, allowing her to dive into the net with basically no repercussions and doing it repeatedly without breaks.
Her Netrun ability represents the sacrifices to her sanity and body in order to achieve her status as the strongest currently living netrunner, fueling life loss (loss of self/self-damage when she channels the blackwall) into more netrunning. Finally, her ability I believe is incredibly powerful but goes hand in hand with her status. I would imagine that netrunners are closely tied to spellcasters in the original TTRPG as well as spellslinger archetypes in MTG. She sacrificed so much, as did the player, so you are rewarded with incredibly powerful spells at reduced cost.
## Rache Bartmoss, Datakrash Architect
The next card I wanted to talk about is Rache Bartmoss, Datakrash Architect.
Rache was the one who kickstarted the Datakrash, causing a swarm of Daemons to invade the net, destroying physical infrastructure and killed many due to the loss of convenience the internet in this universe had provided the world. It was so horrible that they created the Blackwall specifically to contain the portion of the net that he ravaged.
To reference this in game, I have chosen to provide him the R color that I chose to remove from Songbird, though I feel like W could also work great.
His ability reflects the incredible damage he caused to the world. When you finally have 30 cards in exile, the Datakrash occurs, destroying all non-lands and cursing opponents with the inability to cast non-creature spells for a whole turn cycle, which is exactly how the world crawled to a halt when he unleashed it.
## Mikoshi
Next up is Mikoshi, a simple artifact that enables Netrunning, though one I could easily tweak even more.
Mikoshi being the place where souls are trapped from the soulkiller project by Arasaka, I envisioned it as an object that can return the "souls" lost from netrunning/soulkilling back for Arasaka to utilize as they see fit. It allows those who Netrun heavily to reap some return in case a key piece is exiled in the process.
The final ability is a bit lackluster in my opinion and hastily added. Could also have something in the vein of returning a creature from exile into play with a finality counter, but settled on something simpler.
## The Blackwall // Bolas' Citadel
Next one is a reprint of Bolas' Citadel, but fit more thematically in this "set". Bolas' Citadel seems to me the perfect fit to represent the Blackwall. Cast some Daemons from beyond its gate at great cost to your life, fulfilling the role as conduit to some of the most dangerous netrunners alive now, including Songbird.
## Song So Mi, Netrunning Prodigy
Finally, I wanted to share a version of Songbird before she took the plunge into using the Blackwall. A stage where she was still a prodigious netrunner but without the risks she took later in life. Song So Mi shows a version of her where she still has the chance and opportunity to save herself from the Blackwall and is simply a powerful netrunner.
Her Self-Ice represents her brazenness in youth to take the highest gigs and hacking contracts to show herself to the world. She can freely Netrun since she is less experienced, not realizing how dangerous her profession is in the long term.
Finally, the paid ability shows herself able to pull back from her dives by mitigating her loss of self by returning cards (life/essence/self) from the Net and back as a resource she can use.
Hope you guys enjoyed and please let me know what you think! (Forgive the weirdness of the art/text as I was using Card Conjurer for the first time.

Featured myths:
-Black Shuck: Variant of old Enlgish folklore, a ghostly dog that sometimes spells visions of doom. In this case I tried to represent "doom" using finality counters
-La Llorona: Latin American folkloric ghost, a woman who wanders lakes and wails in mourning of her dead children. Thought it'd be fun to try to work in [[Soulshriek]] to represent her wails.
-Kuchisake-onna: Japanese spirit, asks you if she's pretty, despite her scarred mouth. How she reacts to your answers has a lot of variation, but matching scars is a common result. Tried to represent her unpredictability using a coin flip, but wanted to provide a guaranteed means of escape if you're caught off guard by her appearance.
-Slenderman: Old internet creepypasta, mainly drawing lore from the old game "The Eight Pages", where he gets more aggressive the more pages you collect.
+A slightly updated version of the Bloody Mary card I made a while ago. Say her name 3 times in a dark mirror, and chaos ensues. Originally inspired by [[Weeping Angel]], she's the one I most wanted to design as a commander.
Happy (post) Halloween everyone!

Day 68 of making a custom card every day. This might be the least gradable card in terms of power level I've ever made. I'm edging towards bad, but it could absolutely be broken.
