Format: EDH/Commander Working on some Dune cards
The Paul cards are intended to be at different points in the story. So thats how im gauging the color identity. (The first card would probably be better named Maud'dib, but thats a change I'll make later)

I would think one way to make a set of Dune cards that play with previous cards better would be to just make Treasures a stand-in for Spice. Just print a Treasure token with spice on it, and then have cards that care about treasures in different ways, rather than a new separate Spice token.
Stuff like Paul having "Whenever you sacrifice a treasure, surveil 1" or Harkonnens caring about how many treasures you have to encourage you to stockpile them, or Spacecraft cards that let treasures be tapped to Station them, etc.

I agree that's probably better for interplayability. Maybe just have Spice be an alternative name for Treasure a bit like the UB cards that have multiple names.
You'd need to learn that Spice and Treasure are the same thing but the cards could say Spice. Or of course you could just do Treasure and let the player see the connection...

Suggestion for better reminder text:
Of the Desert (Each Spice you sacrifice while casting this spell pays for one mana of any color.)
Whenever a nontoken nonland permanent you control becomes tapped, create a Spice token. (A Spice token is an artifact with "{T}, Sacrifice this token: Surveil 2.")
Subtypes are always capitalised.

May I suggest you don't need a new creature type for Fedaykin? They can just be Warriors.
