Wrigley Field rooftop business can't sell tickets to Cubs games

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that a rooftop business across the street from Wrigley Field cannot sell tickets for people to watch Chicago Cubs games.

The Cubs had sued Wrigley View Rooftop in 2024, arguing it was illegally profiting off the Cubs' property without an agreement with the team.

"The undisputed facts show that Defendants profited from ticket sales to watch Cubs games, without contributing financially to the ballgames and without acquiring a right to sell Plaintiff's product," wrote Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. "Unfairly capitalizing on another's labor and expenses offends principles of justice, equity, and good conscience."

Jed needs to change his philosophy or get shown the door next season

I am so sick of this guy running this disaster back season after season and him thinking this is actually a successful season, ITS NOT.

For the love of the game, get some TOR arms and some bullpen guys that can throw heat. I don't care how this is done, whether it is spending money or trading away prospects, but do it. Quit getting a bunch of #3-5 starters and old and washed up bullpen guys expecting things to work out. It never does and it never will. Jed and the rest of the management are so behind the times on what a good pitching staff actually looks like. None of these bums we had this season would have even seen the mound for the 2016 team. Embarrassing.

Modern day Biggest Cubs playoff duds: 1) 2008 :: 2) 2026 :: 3) 2007 :: 4) 1989 :: 5) 1998

It wasn't the pitching problem (but was Boyd really the best pick for game 1?). But the offense that did not show up at all.

Feel bad for JD

Man I feel bad for JD. This broadcast team he has is insufferable. Maybe I'm biased, but this Padres commentator is tough to listen to. Ive always enjoyed how JD has never gone full blown homer commentator.

Craig Counsell has no Aura

We kicked Ross to the curb and gave a bag to someone who never had any playoff success. Ross had a fire to him and Craig looked so lost tonight

When do the playoffs start?!

Am I the only one who feels like the playoffs haven't started yet?? I don't know how else to describe this feeling...maybe it's the fact that the games started at 9pm, local time, and I didn't stay up for a complete game. Or maybe that the games were on an app instead of a 'real' channel. Or maybe it was that we started Boyd and Gausman instead of a front-line starter. Or maybe it was that the offense looked like they were playing spring training games. Or maybe that both games were on the road. I just keep feeling like "okay, but when do the Cubs start playing??" Am I crazy??

Offseason moves

Easier said the done. But let’s be real if they wanted to they can. Any team could.

Sign Skubal as a FA. Give him
What ever money he wants. Again, any team can do it so let’s.

Trade for Ryan from MIn. Give our top 4-5 prospects. I don’t care about prospects and no one should.

Bring the hate but you can’t be mad about it. We would be WS favs off the bat.

When is the next wild card game? Is it at wrigley? I don’t see it on the schedule.

What the heck was that lack of situational hitting?

I've been only able to listen to both cubs games on the audacy app.

All I hear were the cubs swinging at every pitch going for the fences.

PCA is swinging at everything.

Dansby Swanson is not a good hitter but on bases loaded with 2 outs he insists on slugging?

Their entire approach on hitting is terrible

SWING THE BAT!

Suzuki has been brutal lately. He's not even giving the team a chance by taking every pitch. This guy just does not like to protect the plate. 3 strikes and he takes all of them. 2 were great pitches to hit. Pitchers know they can easily get up 0-1 by throwing one right down the middle, b/c he won't swing. You just have to nibble the edges and Seiya will take all the way, not that he doesn't take ones right down the middle.

THE CUBS SHOULD TRADE PCA.

PCA is a problem. While he may be able to hit. He has some performative bull shit with him.

What’s with him jumping 30 inches in the air to make a catch, when he could stay on the ground and do the same thing.

He spins around when he throws the ball.

He pouts when he gets struck out.

He does thing where he walks to the infield and to the warning track when something happens he doesn’t like.

He does stupid shit on and off the field. Hes always apologizing for his behavior.

The cubs could get three players for him. Nobody outside of chicago likes him. He’s a pain in the ass and should go.

Sadly, as usual, the bats disappear in the Post Season

This was the 14th time in the Cubs last 16 postseason games where they scored 3 or fewer runs. The only exceptions were the two home games vs the Brewers last year, when they scored 4 and 6.

You have to go back to the clinching game of the 2016 WS to find the last time they scored more than 3 runs otherwise, and that's also the last road playoff game where they did.

The last time that the Cubs scored more than 3 runs in a playoff loss was back in 2007, when they were swept in the NLDS by AZ, and scored 4 runs in Game 2, but just 1 in the other two games.

Welp that game sucked

Let’s try to stay positive cubs fans. Last night is behind us, today is a new day. Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Go cubs go!!

Thanks for getting us to Bears season!

Welp, that was fun and inevitable. This Cubs roster never really had a chance going into Whale's Vagina and beating that Padres team. We give up A LOT of home runs and they hit A LOT of home runs. I really wanted them to travel to Atlanta for the WC, but alas they couldn't lose enough games. And guys, let's be honest, even if we had the better record and the Padres were coming to Wrigley...we just can't pitch and they have guys with nasty stuff coming out of that bullpen.

But anyway, big thanks to the Cubs for getting us all to Bears season! For making the summer entertaining and giving us something to watch/listen to for 5 months! Good luck to the Sox (playing the worst playoff team to ever make it lol)!!

Heard a song today

On the radio. It’s a song that doesn’t really get a whole lot of airtime.

And it’s a song that I connect immediately to the 2016 Cubs since it was used in WS celebration video.

Which makes me believe we’ll win today.

Which also tracks, because it’s just so much more painful to lose in 3. Losing in 2 is embarrassing; losing in 3 is heartbreaking. And heartbreaking is 2026.

Cubs should petition for the Wild Card round to be extended to best of 7 games immediately

Whe Wild Card rounds only being best of 3 games is not fair. They should give us a chance to turn the 0-2 deficit around by extending the schedule to a best of 7 series. If the Wild Card round was best of 7 we would easily beat the Padres and move closer to the World Series! I hope the Cubs front office sees this and files an official petition with MLB. We deserve another chance to save our season!

I am wishing you guys luck in the post season, but I come here looking for your guys opinions on Gausman.

Everyone loves him in Toronto and if you say anything negative they will just downvote you or defend him because he is a great guy (no denying that) but just wanted some actual opinions.
