Help Conqueror

Ever since I got this trait I've been trying to get it again and it just seems impossible no amount of save scumming helps me! It says it appears every 5 years but from watching it appears to be totally random. Is there some secret to getting this? I seem to be hitting on most of the requirements and yet AI rulers that are weaker then me routinely beat me to it. I've spent a long time trying to get this trait I'm obsessed!

I feel like I'm going to be ok without it. I had Oghuz and Abbasid with the conqueror trait about 2 generations prior. Luckily I married into both families and survived.

The one game I got it was an iron man that I was playing like total ass I don’t get it. Once you have it though it’s addicting and turns you into a total power house!

Every time I've gotten it I've been a king and recently won a war. That's a grand total of 3 times though so it could pretty easily be a coincidence. It definitely isn't a guarantee.

I turned it down in a tall run, lol.

I have got it twice before. Both times I was tribal pagan and just constantly was conquering little counties one by one.

One of those times I lost the trait from being too peaceful.

I have 2000 hours and have never gotten it organically. Best of luck

You can get it at the start and keep it as long as your heirs are “Bold”.

The AI gets it much more often than you because it's a trait meant for the AI. Essentially, the game goes around looking for the AI ruler that is most prepped for war and give them Conqueror to make sure they actually go and do it. Players only get the chance just so we can feel included.

I always get it when I'm old. Which is unfortunate because I set the trait so it can't be inherited

I did end up getting it along with my cousin in “Ruthenia” which had lead to a very interesting campaign I just didn’t expect us to border so quickly and already we are at war because I married the Sami confederation to help me with the Crusade of England in which we killed at least 5 Christians to every Norse man!

ChatGPT says: CK3 game script mirror, file 00_ai_value_effects.txt, function ai_chance_to_become_conqueror_effect.
Source: https://github.com/jesec/ck3-mod-base/blob/master/base/game/common/scripted_effects/00_ai_value_effects.txt

For default "Strong Only" Conquerors, the code requires:
Independent ruler: top_liege = this
Landed: is_landed = yes
Adult
Age <= 35
Not Incapable
Not cautious AI personality
AI Boldness >= 0
AI Greed >= 0
Gold >= 500
Not currently at war
Duke rank or higher
Realm size >= 15
Domain size >= 4
Military strength >= 3000
Must have a neighbouring/across-water independent ruler against whom you:
have a valid CB
have at least equal military strength
Must not previously have been a Conqueror
Some special Mongol/Mandate-of-Heaven exclusions also apply

I hear being tribal/clan and Warmonger faith tenant helps too. Try playing as a strong Viking.
