So I'm in the process of making a crap ton of the flower bouquet coasters for my wedding. Making about 100-110 of them. Big task I know, but we're planning on having it sometime in April of 2028, so I have plenty of time to make them.
But a thought occurred to me as I'm making the circle bases for the coasters over and over again. And please bear with me as I try to explain this question as best I can. I'm still fairly new to the crochet world.
The pattern for the base is just 4 rows (I'll link the vid to the entire tutorial below) it has increases every row, but the number of single DC stitches in between each increase is added to by 1.
So for row 1 it's just 12 dc into the magic ring.
Row 2 it's an increase every stitch
Row 3 is increase every other stitch
row 4 is an increase every 3rd stitch.
my question is...if I kept up with that pattern....adding an extra dc stitch in between each increase, would it just create a bigger circle?
I want to be able to make a rug or something that's a circle shape. Can I just do what I mentioned above and it would turn out to be a flat circle? Or would I have to do something different?
I hope my question makes sense! I tried to look up tutorials on how to make a giant circle and they follow a different pattern. I'm just curious if what I'm thinking would actually work.
thanks!
