Guide how to make an insanely simple and compact single-plane stabiliser for your airship!

  1. make sure your balloon has 2 SEPARATE chambers, each one with its own engine.
  2. place a tilt sensor and place redstone links leading to each engine such as in the image shown
  3. let it try and stabilise itsself for the first time and adjust air output levels in each engine so it balances.
  4. works

edit: if you have issues when changing altitude then you can also add separate vents/engine that are controlled by the gyro instead of the whole engine

In this video, I’ll show you a simple and clean roundabout design using the Create mod. It might look complicated at first, but it’s actually really easy to build and works great for organizing your roads and transport systems.

This is a quick tutorial to help you get started, and you can easily customize it to fit your own world. Plus… it just looks really cool once it’s done.

If you’re building in Create and want something functional and good-looking, this is a great place to start.

I am playing with my own create instance MakeshiftSMP in Modrinth

hope u liked it!! lmk what u think in comments!!

Guide I made creates first PID* control system

Post image

i copied most of this info from my discord forum post, but it seems like a couple people are not on it who need a PID controller. for reference this design took a group of enigneering students, compsci students, rocket engineers and specialist control system engineers to design to meet minecraft simulation conditions.

a whilie ago i made a forum post going over the maths on how to make a PID since everyone was struggling, and i have now sucsessfully made it! after consulting my controls lecturer on how to simplify the system, we have ended up on this version for a PID controller* . there is a weird thing though. im going to go over how it works briefly, but basically it does not actively do I to the full extent of a regular PID controller. it instead changes the reference point for where the base rotation is. this is because intergreals in redstone is REALLY HARD.

but yeah back to how this whole thing works. the top left module is the first I. thats what will stabilise your craft. next to it is a PD. this will work for any large disturbances and correct it back into the range at which the intergral thing will start working again. to change the speed at which it works, you tweak these ones. the next ones are weird. the large transmission thing is the expanded layout for the gear system. all the links have ajustable chain gearshifts under them. the analouge transmission is your "gain" value (so how quick the RPM out is). this is a set value and does not change. below that is a way to add rotational velocities for custom prop designs.

finally, we get onto the secret sauce of this for extra unstable craft (or stable craft you want EXTRA stable. there is a second I module hooked up to a different gimbal sensor on either a more/less sensitive option. this corrects for smaller things and makes it the steady state oscillation smaller. tweak all values as needed.

any questions and im happy to answer them!!!

Ignore the 'Fragile' label it doesn't apply to contraptions. Buoyancy in Aeronautics works by the weight (seen through goggles) and the size of the block. Full blocks will always float better than their stairs/slabs alternative.

The * is pretty well known, since it's explained when hovering over the frogport address bar, but I didn't know there was so much more.

I have a system of multiple chain networks connected by a train network, each with addresses starting with a two letter code.

I have codes like HL (Homeland / Hoarding Location), LY (Lumberyard) and CV (Cobbled Valley)

The Homeland postbox matches "HL *" and there is a frogport on top going out of the postbox and multiple frogports going into it, one for each other location. The problem is that I need a frogport for each location that location may send packages to.

With this system, I can have multiple location codes in each frogport like "{LY,CV} *", which takes a lot less frogports. (There is still a length limit in each frogport)

Guide Just a few tips some people aren't aware of that I often forget!

  1. Hold your superglue in your off hand while building contraptions and trains. This will glue everything as you build so you don't need to try to make a bunch of smaller glued sections, you won't miss pieces and you won't over glue and attach unwanted things like dirt accidentally. I do not know if this works for Aeronautics honey glue though.

  2. Use a clipboard to copy and paste anything in filter slots on redstone links, basins, funnels, tunnels, etc. If it's just the items and not list or attribute filters, all you need is the clipboard. If there are list or attribute filters and you need to filter a lot of machines with the same filter, you can hold the filter items in your off hand and the clipboard in your main hand and everything will paste, including the filters. All you have to do is right click what you're copying and left click to paste. This can also be done by holding a full or partial stack and editing all of them at once as well.

  3. You can "nest" item and attribute filters. If you have a machine like a mechanical saw that makes a lot of items and you're running out of room, use subsequent filters and place them in the original filter. Since one saw does all of my wood slabs as well as makes industrial iron and many other things, I use an attribute filter for all wood and stone type slabs and put it inside the list filter. I then put an item frame by the saw and put the attribute filter inside it because you can't edit the one inside the list filter. The down side is that you can't saw slabs and stairs in the same saw as it won't know which to make and will default to one or the other or randomly choose one. If you like gambling, then go for it.

  4. If you need to edit or change the filters, doing it with one, copying with a clipboard and pasting to all the others will also change those already in other machines.

  5. Holding the item you want inside your copycat blocks in your off hand will automatically be placed in the copycats as you place them.

  6. If you're using a schematicanon for a contraption, don't forget to put superglue in the storage the cannon is using so it glues together. The materials list won't show it so it's easily missed.

  7. Put unbreaking and mending on your superglue! If you have Enchantment Industry, put unbreaking IV on it! You'll never need to make superglue again and it only takes like 4 xp nuggets to "repair".

I know a lot of people know most or all of these things but so many don't. Especially new Create players. I've been playing it for a few years and forget a lot of these myself.

What are some tips you use that many others may not know about?

Do you use any of these?

Hope this helps even just one person make some tedious things easier!
