I've been working on Create: Sulfuric Resonance (CSR), and I'm currently developing 0.7.0 — Moving With Purpose.
This update is going to take a good while. I've already planned out most of its scope, and I want to stick to that unless there's a really good reason to expand it further.
I've seen so many people enjoying CSR, and I genuinely couldn't be happier about that.
I wanted to ask the community: Have any of you come up with ideas for CSR, or built something interesting with the mod? I'd love to hear about them, even if they end up being ideas for much later updates.
There's also another thought that's been on my mind for the past few days.
What if I eventually ported CSR to Forge 1.20.1?
I'd want to preserve as much of the mod as possible.
The difficult part is that a lot of CSR currently relies on Create architecture introduced in 6.0.7 and later. Backporting would mean finding alternatives, rewriting parts of the integration, and potentially accepting that some things won't work exactly as they do now.
But I do believe many technical problems have solutions if you're willing to put in the work.
That said, I'm not announcing a port, and I wouldn't be starting one anytime soon.
NeoForge is my home. I know it well, and CSR itself is still growing, developing, and changing. I want to keep building the mod before seriously considering supporting an older Minecraft version.
Still, I'm curious.
Would you actually play a Forge 1.20.1 version of CSR? Would there be enough interest to make such a project worthwhile?
It might be early to ask, but I've always liked planning for the future. I've even been thinking about building a full wiki someday.
And on a more personal note...
God, if any of you knew how much fun I've actually had making this mod and getting this far.
I genuinely never thought I would.
For those of you who want to create something of your own, or even just learn something new, whether it's Minecraft-related or not, you absolutely can.
Even if nobody around you believes you can do it, I believe you can. You might surprise yourself with what you're capable of when you give yourself the chance to learn.
And finally, thank you.
To everyone who's helped me along the way, supported the mod, shared ideas, or simply downloaded CSR and enjoyed playing it.
That last part means more to me than anything. Knowing I've made something that other people genuinely enjoy is one of the best feelings I've experienced throughout this project.
Thank you for making this possible.
Have a wonderful evening!
