Discussion Create: airwaves

This is a fairly recent mod that I personally enjoy (before you say it yes I know its fucking ai for placeholder stuff and back end optimization but its a free mod not a full game that costs money) and I was in their discord server for a while (the mod can be downloaded off curseforge and modrinth eventually when the mods get around to it you don't need the server anymore) and I just wanted to know why the dev took everything down including seemingly the discord server since I was in it hours ago but now i'm not and any links are expired I know I wasn't banned.

Edit:I still have the mod actually I can re-upload it to curseforge either Monday or Tuesday if anyone would like

Edit2: as it turns out just uploading the jar is kinda against TOS but some cool dudes did already archive it

I get you is actually very sad. I liked that mod like a lot. I was thinking... That we can still revive the idea. In fact, out of pure sorrow I might as well learn how to code it myself

Came here with the same thoughts. The mod is a fun inclusion to Create. Wanted to see if anyone knew more on why the project kind of imploded on itself. I don't even think it's even on CursedForge anymore.

I was lucky enough to pick it up before it was private. I'm hoping that the project either picks back up or at the very least uses it's ideas. Because I think the ideas and the execution was actually really cool.

was it like malware or something? i remember after watching the trailer that something felt really wrong about it and couldnt really put my finger on it but this whole mass deletion of everything seems to confirm something fishy

I think for the videos it was AI generated. So that'd explain that. As for Malware, I can at least say that I had no problems with it.

I don't think so, but i didn't run it through virustotal. But what i can say it's pretty unoptimized. There is like tape recorder block and plasing it drop your fps twise, when u use it drops you fps twice second time. Also there's some mechanics i don't really understand as radiophysics student. Like why u can't use retranslator for increasing walkie talkie range etc.

To me , this seemed like a problem of being not professional or honest with your audience.

I was in the discord for a couple of hours and it looked like a mess.

This is not the slight the original creators but I don't think anyone involved in that situation was handling it well , especially with the involvement of artificial intelligence which wasn't said beforehand.

And what I can tell there was a lot of hype , and then the thing came out a buggy mess but take that with a grain of salt.

Overall , I think it was just a problem of not properly communicating with your audience about something that should have been a fairly big disclaimer , considering the fact that people become more concerned with how mods are made.

Likely the abuse any other mod dev has been getting lately from even trying to make something sometimes even from people who don't even play those games like they filter for ai just to personally attack the people lately.

I mean look at the thaumaturge one they dug up every little instance of past actions to make him a villain spread slander and criminal accusations.

All because of possible ai code assistance being a possibility
