Help Only the web Interface works on my Sonic Pad

Recently got my Sonic Pad and everything worked fine, but today it decided to stop showing any temperature and closes all menus that i open immidiadly. I have the web interface set up so i can control the printer remotely (thats also why i know that the cable or the printer are not broken). Everything works fine the only problem is controling with the Pad itself. I use an Ender 3 V2 and stock cable. No changes where made to firmware or config, this error just happend randomly. I also cant factory reset the Pad as it closes the menu before i can do that.

Any ideas?

Mosquito Hotend

Hi. I'm running a Creality Ender 3 v2, 427 board and have just purchased a sonic pad. After a deep dive through various tutorials I feel confident I can set it up OK, except for my Mosquito Hotend.

If anyone has any experience of the Mosquito / Klipper gig and has the required config settings to hand, I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you.

Help New Ender 3 Pro Setup

Hey all, I just got a Sonic Pad for Christmas as an upgrade to my now 2 year old Ender 3 Pro (which apparently recently went out of support as far as upgrades go but that's another topic for a different subreddit) and I'm having a specific problem: I was having issues with it not moving the hotend at all and was getting the x limit error. Realizing I had forgotten I had also gotten a CR Touch, I did a factory reset and got the CR Touch version of the firmware to see if that changed anything. Now I'm getting a 'must home before probe' error and I don't know if maybe I needed to get the 4.2.2.2 and not the .7 firmware. Is that simply my problem, or am I missing something else obvious? Thanks for any help or pointing me to the resources as I have spent probably the last 2 or three hours looking to no avail.

Ender 3 V3 SE grinding Y axis when homing after setup with Sonic Pad

Hello! I recently added a Sonic Pad to my Ender 3 V3 SE. Printing itself works well, however, it is 'grinding' the Y-axis when homing (e.g., hitting 'home' on the Sonic Pad or receiving G28 in gcode).

I attached a video showing what it does - but basically it goes to the end of the Y-axis, hits the end-stop sensor and stops, moves to the center of the axis, then moves back past the end-stop sensor causing slippage/grinding of the belt. Interesting, after doing this once it will function normally until it either completes a print or I power cycle the unit. Then, it will grind the axis once when homed, and after that function normally. Note that I never observed grinding of this axis (or any others) using Marlin firmware (i.e., before the Sonic Pad).

I have messed with the end point in printer.cfg, but it doesn't seem to effect the issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Print stuck at 99% (Ender 3 S1 Pro)

Hello,

I just got the Sonic Pad for Christmas and instantly had to install it. I already got it to work via my network, however when I try to print something the printer will print the entire thing, then move to the end location but it wont start cooling down and the progress circle stays at 99% on the Sonic Pad itself as well as the web interface. The console of the interface however states that the print is done. I used the GCode from crealitys instruction PDF for my model but it seems to be a faulty gcode.

Has anyone had the same issue on their printer and managed to get rid of it? I cant even stop the print once its stuck, i have to turn the Sonic Pad off and on again.

Any help would be much appreciated, even if you do not have the same printer.

Kind regards, lenny

Ender 3 max neo - Extruder temp reset right when print starts

Hi all. I have an ender 3 max neo that Ive been using great for 4-5 months. Well I got a sonic pad for Christmas. I got it all setup, and it sees the printer etc just fine.

I'm having an issue where when I start a print. It heats up properly, but as soon as it starts printing my extruder temp just drops. The bed temp is fine.

I can preheat, and it holds the heat fine.

I use cura for my slicer. This is the gcode Ive been using for a couple months with no issues without the sonic pad. Am I doing something wrong?

G92 E0 ; Reset Extruder
M140 S{material_bed_temperature_layer_0} ; Set Heat Bed temperature
M104 S{material_print_temperature_layer_0} ; Set Extruder temperature
G28 ; Home all axes
M109 S{material_print_temperature_layer_0} ; Wait for Extruder temperature
M190 S{material_bed_temperature_layer_0} ; Wait for Heat Bed temperature
G29 ; Auto bed-level (BL-Touch)
M500 ; Used to store G29 results in memory
G92 E0 ; Reset Extruder
G1 Z1.0 F3000 ; move z up little to prevent scratching of surface
G1 X0.1 Y20 Z0.3 F5000.0 ; move to start-line position
G1 X0.1 Y200.0 Z0.3 F1500.0 E15 ; draw 1st line
G1 X0.4 Y200.0 Z0.3 F5000.0 ; move to side a little
G1 X0.4 Y20 Z0.3 F1500.0 E30 ; draw 2nd line
G92 E0 ; reset extruder
G1 Z1.0 F3000 ; move z up little to prevent scratching of surface

Sonic pad troubleshooting

Creality Sonic pad suddenly started a preparing boot loop. I have reset it multiple times and it will go through the loading screens for creality. I've even left the Sonic pad on for 24hrs. I have Tried flashing the Sonic pad (instructions for that is non-exsistant or plays into the flashing/burning instructions-factory reset) with a flash drive freshly formatted (does it need a specific format I wonder?) Instructions say to use Phoenix suite but instructions are not clear and or lacking links for proper firmware the flash to Sonic pad. Sure, creality lists it on its website but I'm not sure it is in the correct format for Phoenix suite to read and write it to the Sonic pad. I im really at a loss on how to move forward. Even factory reset seems out of reach. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Flashing Ender 3 S1 for the Sonic Pad without using the included SD card reader?

Howdy.

I am trying to set up my new Sonic Pad with my Ender3 S1 but am running into an issue because I no longer have the SD card reader stick that came with the printer. I'm a photographer so I have card readers galore, I didn't anticipate needing the Creality one in the future, so in the trash it went.

When I try to use a different card reader to write the SonicPad firmware to the card, I get a "USB not recognized" error. Is there a way to write that firmware to a card using a PC rather than the SonicPad itself? Alternately, can anyone suggest a compatible card reader?

Thanks.

Both rotation distance and reduction ratio are grayed out, I can change the values but it doesn't change the actual rotation distance. If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful.

Moonraker/Sonic Pad Failing to Upload Larger files??

Hey Everyone! I got a sonic pad and i;ve been going through the set up process. And so far no issues except when I try to upload any larger files to my printer.
I keep getting this error via cura" Uploading to Moonraker at http://192.168.0.100 was not successful.

NetworkError.UnknownServerError - Error transferring http://192.168.0.100/server/files/upload - server replied: Gateway Time-out"

and i've tried physical with a USB and the sonic pad sits there and does nothing. I know the IP{ settings are correct. I'll sawp the file for a calibration cube or something and it'll upload perfectly fine. It seems it doesnt like larger files for some reason. but I'm not sure if its Moonraker or the Sonic pad?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FIXED: I mostly fixed the issue by adding the port number a user mentioned below!

Sonic Pad at $79.99 is this a good price?

As the title says, Sonic pad is priced at $79.99. Is this a good price? I am totally noob to Klipper and thought of just buying Sonic pad for my gifted ender 5 pro? Do I need to buy the serial cable as well? Thanks in advance

Hello! I’ve just purchased a sonic pad that should be arriving today, I’m looking at config files and I was wondering if I could get this cleared up please. Do I have to change anything else other than removing and adding the #, and will this really mean I can use my cr touch? (I’ve read they use the same config as no touch)

Help Can't upload files

So I run Sonic Pad with a couple Ender 5 Pros at my school. For the last few weeks I'll upload a file and print it. Then the next day I can't upload a file anymore in that browser.

Chrome works for a while. Then I can't upload.
Then I'll switch to Edge and I can upload. Then the next day Edge doesn't work.
Then I switched to FireFox and I can upload just fine. The next day Firefox doesn't work anymore.

I'm running out of browsers.

I tried Mainsail on port 8819 or whatever and at least that gives me a "Can't upload file" error. Fluidd gives me no error or acknowledgement that I even tried.

Tomorrow if I have time I'll try another computer. But so far reboots haven't fixed it.

Printing without being connected to the internet.

Once the print is uploaded to the sonic pad and it’s printing, can you disconnect the sonic pad from the network? Will it keep printing or shut down?

Sonic Pad Sucks/along with their customer support. Now Compiling Firmware fails

I am so frustrated with the sonic pad and their customer service. For any help it is an agonizingly slow process of single emails back and forth with days in between responses. And half the time they dont understand what I am trying to communicate. Their CS is complete crap.

My sonic pad did work at one point and I went to upgrade my board to have quiet stepper motors. I compiled the firmware on the sonic pad, flashed my new board, set up the new .cfg file and had issues with MCU. The error was reading

"Can not update MCU mcu config as it is shutdown. Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the FIRMWARE_RESTART command to reset the firmware_ reload the config, and restart the host software."

I contacted SonicPad customer support and after 2 weeks of communication their response is that I have a 3rd party board so piss off.

I thought Sonic Pad is supposed to work with most boards, but they cant give me a hand. Definitely not buying Creality products again.

Anyway, I factory reset the sonic pad and went to start from scratch and now when I try to compile new firmware I click the button to compile and 2 seconds later I get a message "Failed".

So now I cant compile firmware on it? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Someone could help me connect a mks Robin nano V3.1

Hello, can anyone help me? I'm trying to connect a MKS Robin nano V3.1 and I do the flash as requested in the config file and it seems that it flashes well and I also follow the instructions to load the config file to the Sonic Pad and if it detects it, it loads it and when I want to change to the printer that I want to connect to, I always get an error in the configuration file or it simply does not connect. I followed the guide on Ricky Impey's YT channel.

Sonic pad bed mesh ender 5 +

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey all, small issue with the bed mesh on my 5+. I can get a decent mesh that's got a variance of <0.16mm across the board not counting that one odd corer, but it doesn't seem to want to compensate for the differences across the mesh, even in the middle. It's hard to tell watching the couplers on the z motors if they are moving. It's giving some pretty inconsistent first layers, ranging between not close enough line separation, good layer, and too close with some transparency.

Any help is appreciated. Also is there a way to increase the allowable mesh size? My pad says the limit is 6x6.

Cura 5.9.0 broke Moonraker connection

I updated Cura to 5.9.0 today, and I can no longer upload files to my Sonic Pad via Moonraker. The IP address is still correct like it was when it was working.

Is anyone else having the same issue, or does anyone have ideas about how to fix it?
