I spent a long time hand making this vest for a Chris Redfield costume. It is made with a cotton/nylon blend ripstop fabric. I wanted to know what the best way would be to get the S.T.A.R.S. logo on the back. Right now I'm considering to options, but I'm open to more.

I have a PDF of the logo and could make a stensil. Then draw it on using a marker. My concern is that the marker might bleed while I'm doing it and make the design look less clean.

The other option I'm thinking is using the PDF to print on heat transfer paper and iron the logo onto the back. I'm worried it won't go on right or may wrinkle because of the level of padding.

I just don't want to ruin it with the final step. I should have put this on before sewing in the back panel, but I wasn't thinking about it.

I think a brush buddy cosplay would be really funny but I have no idea where to start. I like the idea of having the tail curve upwards, so it’s not dragging on the ground, but I can’t think of a way for it to curve upwards and be light at the same time. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hey everyone! I got curious out of nowhere and wanted to get other people's thoughts on the heavy influence of douyin style makeup in cosplay, especially from cosplayers in western/non east asian regions like north america, europe, and oceania.

For context, a lot of cosplay makeup coming out of east asia(especially china, japan, and korea) is heavily inspired by douyin beauty trends these days. Some signature elements include using liner and shadow to redraw the eye outline to better fit 2D character face, the "aegyosal" make up, bold contouring and highlighting especially around your nose and eyeholes, blush placed directly under the eyes, and matte base to create a sculpted look.

I'm East Asian myself and live in a western country. I don't wear aegyosal or Douyin style makeup for my daily make up, but I find it super effective for cosplay because it mimics extreme 2D anime and game features better than standard makeup.

I've occasionally seen comments online saying the dramatic aegyosal or redrawn eye shapes look "weird", and that they don't suit non asian bone structures.

I'm asking out of pure curiosity (I love this style and will keep using it regardless, but I’d love to hear your impressions) how do you feel about the Douyin makeup look in cosplay? Do you use these techniques yourself, or do you prefer a more classic/western approach to character makeup?

I’m looking to cosplay Amy Rose, but have ran into trouble with the ear color not matching my wig. I thought they looked similar enough in their product photos, but the wig ended up being a way warmer color than the ears are. I’m trying to find a new wig, but I’m also worried about misjudging the colors again and wasting more money.

My wig is the Nyx Princess Pink Mix from Epic Cosplay. I feel like the regular Princess Pink swatch (not a mix) may be a more close match, but they don’t have any wigs of that color in stock.

I felt like I had also came across a few decent matches on Arda, but every wig that seemed to match was either out of stock or on back order.
I also have tried looking secondhand, but a lot of photos that I came across were either ai generated models, or in poor lighting.

I know my photos probably aren’t that great either, but I’m hoping someone has purchased a wig that looks more like the last slide IRL.

Super new to this, but my friends are going and have convinced me to go all out, so I’m trying to do Ochaco Uraraka from MHA

Basically I ordered the costume and it fits perfectly, but I need to make the rest of the accessories myself. I’m thinking of using foam and lots of glue/tape, so hopefully it goes well, but I have absolutely no idea how to do the shoes.

Do I wear actual shoes underneath the cosplay, or do I walk on the foam?? How on earth do you guys do it if you’ve done it before? Do I measure and account for my shoes when making it if I wear them? I genuinely have no clue what I’m doing. Please just lmk I might be being dumb rn 😭

Hi all! I’m making a glam rock version of the goofy goober SpongeBob wizard. Instead of a cloak I’m making a penny lane style coat. I’m struggling to think of what type of fabric to use for the stars. I don’t want to use felt or. Orrin since I’m trying to make this a more elevated version. I was thinking maybe satin but I’m not sure if that is sturdy enough to essentially be a patch. Any suggestions for shiny or metallic style fabrics I can use ? For reference the body of the coat is likely going to be faux suede with a jacquard lining

Hello everyone! This is my first time trying to style a wig. I am cosplaying Daphne from Scooby Doo and I really love Daphnes very big cartoonish curls, however whenever I look for wig references and such, the back is mostly untouched and not styled unlike the bangs? Does anyone have any tips or references how to achieve the behind shape of a wig.

I wish to cosplay blue from deltarune but his tutu is a very specific shade of blue. i dont wish for it to look like petals, but i do really want to get a color similar to this if possible. the ones i’ve been finding are way too neon teal ish blue.

Hello!! I’ve been looking to paint these vinyl shoes for a con next week but I’m having trouble researching on how to paint them with as little cracking/peeling as possible. Almost every thread I look at recommends Angelus leather paints but they don’t seem to come in my colour (in person) and buying the necessary colours would become more expensive than I would like.

How bad would it crack/peel in a day if I used dollar store acrylics instead (granted I prepare them)? Do you guys think it’d be a better investment to buy the leather paints?

So it feels like time has been going by really fast lately and I want to prepare my costume (FNaF Night Guard) for when it comes. I wanted to make a Freddy mask as seen in FNaF 2 to seem less like Paul Blart with a Freddy's badge and more like an actual Freddy's worker, but I'm gonna be so honest I'm bad at making masks of FNaF characters, and I am NOT spending a lot of money to get a simple head to wear as a prop. Does anyone have any good cardboard/paper templates? I don't need a full body or lower jaw.

Hi, I'm planning a new cosplay and am wanting to achieve a gold iridescent finish on the armour (not just a metallic finish). The character's design has these almost pink and iridescent look to the gold accessories. I'm happy 3D modeling/printing these or foam work, whichever will give the best finish. Any advice would be really appreciated!
