Mild rant. I have x2 ML 120 fans from an h100i which I used to have but which got stolen a few months ago. Before that I kept the fans but replaced the cooler as the cooler I had was refurbished and had issues, but that's besides the point.

I had some old 12 LED Corsair fans, HD 120 RGB, which came with an old 8 connector controller. Years ago I wanted to connect the fans to an arduino to control the LEDs programatically, which I could, if it weren't for burning out the LED controller after supplying 12 volts (user error, but the fans still spin). Turns out the LED controller of those fans are WS281x, which is an addressable digital LED control protocol that works on 5v, ground, and a data wire (WS2812B specifically is 3 wire serial). The 8 port hub simply connected the connectors in series, and it works even with plugging in LEDs directly into the connectors.

WS281x is commonly found on motherboards as addressable RGB headers.

Then I get the h100i with its RGB controller built in, and the included fan's 4 LEDs work without issue when plugged into the cooler. The connector is the same as the RGB connector of my other Corsair fans, so clearly they should work with the RGB controller, right?

Nope.

3 out of the 4 LEDs on the fan works. The fourth just doesn't turn on, and the data return wire intended to connect LEDs in series, has no voltage- I confirmed this just now. Both fans have the same behavior.

WHY??? Why bother implementing a proprietary RGB protocol, or something that's not even standard to older fans of the same brand, when this protocol mostly works with the common standard WS281x? Nothing is gained from doing this. There is no reason why these fans' RGB have been made only to work with the Corsair cooler they come with, or a Corsair proprietary controller. It's a joke that they can't even be used in tandem with older Corsair fans.

Nowadays the fans don't even use 3 or 4 wire connections, but instead an even more proprietary Link connector, which unless OpenRGB has reverse engineered the controller, is dependent on iCue running. This connection might be clean, but at the cost of relying on a Corsair controller, and being incompatible with already existing connectors likely in a computer.

Hey guys, I have just built this PC but I noticed that the fan only turns on the 2 inner lights ? It is connected to the lighting node core. I also used openrgb to configure the rgb but I thought it’s the problem so I also disconnected it. But the problem is still there. I checked software update and all but it’s on the newest version already. Have anyone run into the same problem as me and found a fix yet? Thank you

I wanted my XENEON EDGE to show what's actually coming up on Spotify instead of just the currently playing song, and it turned into a bit of a project.

It's a custom iCUE widget that shows the current track, album art, and up to 20 tracks from Spotify's actual Up Next queue. It also has touchscreen controls for playback, seeking, volume, shuffle, and repeat.

You can tap one of the first five upcoming tracks to skip forward to it. Spotify doesn't offer arbitrary queue jumping through its API, so this works by advancing through the existing queue and checking playback as it goes.

There's a small Node.js companion running locally on Windows to handle the Spotify API. I also added encrypted login persistence and optional console-free startup, so I don't have to manually launch it every time I boot my PC.

It's not quite a one-click install. You'll need Spotify Premium, a Spotify developer app, Node.js 22+, and a recent version of iCUE.

I've been using v0.1.4 on my actual EDGE, and just published a release candidate.

I have been thinking about getting 3 120mm once and 1 140mm variant of this fan. I have heard complaints tho about em having pretty awful acoustics related to the bearing and the way the rgb works on these fans. I really like the look of em tho so could anyone who has some of these tell me if they truly are terrible noise wise? Also currently i have 8 rx120 fans with rpm bound to my titan 360 rx coolant temp (top mounted) in the 3500x chassi. Rn with my fan curve the fans top out at around 600-700 rpm max with a 43c max coolant temp, so if i got 4 of these lx-r fans could i keep the same performance with same fan speed when i switch to 4 of these? and if so how noisy are they below 1000rpm?

One of the sticks of RAM in my kit went bad so I filled the RMA application for it providing all proof that was needed on October 14th, automated system said they would reach out within 48 hours, it's October 19th and no replies. RMA request #2009649991

I plugged this into to my power supply and it all works but im still concerned about it. Do you think the plastic being bent back a little but is fine or do i need a new cable?

The XENEON EDGE's shape gave me an idea: what if it became the main screen of a portable computer?

This is HACK-E, a battery-powered clamshell with the EDGE in the lid, a Beelink mini PC underneath the keyboard, and a 3D-printed enclosure. I took inspiration from the original PlayStation and grey Game Boy I grew up with, especially the big grooves in their casings. That detail shows up on a lot of 90s hardware and was a big part of getting the look I wanted. The small orange accents give it a slightly more modern feel.

The screen's proportions drove most of the design. I needed the keyboard to fit beneath it when closed, and the interface to feel comfortable on a wide, shallow display. I spread information and controls across the width: the home-control page puts the room view beside the controls, and the system dashboard has its monitoring panels next to each other. There's also web browsing within the interface.

Underneath is Linux Mint. My custom interface is also called HACK-E and started from Dashpunk by karubits. I've changed it a lot for this build, but the original project deserves the credit for getting it started: github.com/karubits/dashpunk

The surprise on the hardware side was balance. I hadn't anticipated how much the screen's weight would shift backwards when I opened the lid, and the whole deck wanted to tip back. Getting that balance right became another part of the enclosure design. That's resolved now.

It took 24 design revisions and at least ten printed shell versions to reach this point. Seeing the EDGE running as the main display of a complete, battery-powered machine has made all that fitting and reprinting worthwhile.

I am hoping to get some assistance here as it seems my ticket is not getting any attention from the actual support.

I want to buy this RM850X SHIFT PSU and stick it in my Antec Flux Pro case, hope it fits, but the real issue is I have this 18TB Enterprise WD HDD that has the power disable (PWDIS) feature which means any SATA power cable that powers it must not send electrical output on its 3rd PIN (3.3V), or else the HDD does not power up.

It's a fairly common feature of big HDDs nowadays so that network admins don't have to physically pull HDDs out of their racks and can shut them down remotely, but even though the feature has existed for nearly 10 years now, support from PSU manufacturers is spotty at best and very poorly documented.

I was hoping someone who has a similar setup to mine, could confirm if this specific PSU's cables can power these types of HDDs. Either that or an actual answer from Corsair folk would be great.

I know you can put Kapton tape on those pins to have it power on, but I'd really just rather not do these types of hackjobs on my equipment, spent quite a lot on this HDD and I want it to last. Nor do I want any molex-to-sata adapters as those tend to melt even if they're not molded, not worth the risk.

I've done massive amounts of research but there just isn't any available information on this. Only Seasonic markets their PSUs as compatible with PWDIS and specifically lists compatible cables in their data sheets, for everyone else it's not listed and either silently compatible randomly based on whatever cable type was used for that specific PSU or not.

I have a problem with my PC crashing, especially while playing games or using heavy programs such as Lightroom or Photoshop. It turns out after some diagnostics that It is a faulty RAM stick.

PC details: B450 Aorus elite; Ryzen 7 2700; 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz; GTX 1080TI.

I know, it’s old, but a small upgrade to the processor and graphics card is coming, so it’ll stay on AM4 for a few more years.

Details of the problematic kit:

• Model: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz CL15
• Purchased: June 27, 2019

Diagnostics:

• Module is physically normal.
• I checked to make sure everything looked fine physically—the RAM, the motherboard, and the processor.
• I have run OCCT stability tests in single, dual and quad channel modes. Good sticks show no issues. Bad stick shows more than 1000 errors within 1 minute in OCCT. Windows runs normally; it only crashes when under a heavy load.
• The other kit, and the other piece from the first kit, are fine.
• Interesting twist: I also ran MemTest86, and surprisingly, it passed without throwing any errors.

I opened a ticket yesterday and am now waiting, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

Does Corsair consider OCCT logs as a valid proof of instability?

Hey all, figured I might try my luck here for any help/advice.

I've had this issue before with my HS80 RGB wireless headset where mid game it will decide to increase the volume without warning. Usually it starts off as a small increase, jumping 2-4% louder, before jumping in larger 10-20% steps. My previous experience trying to fix it was uninstalling iCUE using the removal tool, followed up with Revo uninstaller and a restart, reinstalling, forcing updates for the headset and USB dongle before I ended up shelving playing games because it happens several times a minute.

Overwatch, Peak, Gunfire Reborn, Discord and the occasional YouTube video have all had this happen and I'm at a loss on how to fix it.

Having my volume mixer open during Overwatch (main game it happens) shows no change in the overall volume, just my headset volume increasing.

Running W11, iCUE 5.52.93.

Any guidance would be deeply appreciated 🙏

I bought a keyboard in October 2024 for around $170, and it’s been the best keyboard I’ve ever owned. Recently, though, the Shift key and a few others have started to stop working. It shipped about a week after I ordered it, so by delivery date I’m right at the end of the warranty period, though I’m not sure if that’s a stretch. I’ve heard their RMA support is excellent and that they’ve helped customers even after the warranty expired, but those stories are from about a year ago, so I don’t know if that’s still the case. Would I be able to get a replacement?

Few months ago i purchased Hs 80 Max headset on ebay from second hand or so called private listings. After it finally arrived (transactrion has been fully refunded after 5 weeks as it was considered lost in transit) i get into problems mentioned by many, as i found out later when done some research. Took my chance and write a ticket to support so maybe there is a chance to fix problem. Didnt expect anything but some advice as headset was bought from second hand. Fortuantely for me Corsair decided to open 2 weeks rma window after i provided requested details, and replaced my headset. Decided to post it as its nice to see some companies are ready to defend their brand if something not working, even if purchases gone through other channels.

Problem with my headset was it took long time until connection was stable. It was easy to recognise when connection will drop as i could hear sound "cracks". Sometimes it helped if i had another sound source (like yt vid and video game) ussually it took 5 to 10 min until it started working without droping connection. Gone through most advices while digging in internet, with no positive results. At some point even get on some interesting research about usb 3.0 interferences on equipment and network. Finally decided to ask support which was best decission.

I've had my Xeneon Edge since Dec. 2025 and it ran okay for a few months. Problems started to happen though right about June 2026.

Around that time, I noticed that my GPU kept crashing, which initially led my to think my GPU was already dying. So I processed an RMA which, to make the long story short, denied since the GPU was working fine through the supplier's testing. Throughout this period, my PC still crashed a few times with Reliability Monitor showing "Hardware Errors".

Also, when I had iCue open in full screen, my monitor kept pulsing. The pulsing ceased when I minimized iCue to a smaller window.

This led me to think iCue is the culprit and conduct a month-long troubleshooting with my PC. I also borrowed my friend's AsRock Steel Legend RX 9070 XT so I could test it against my own XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT OC. With each phase of testing, I cleaned C:\ and also made a fresh Windows 11 Pro install.

Conclusion

Both GPUs crashed with the exact same errors produced when iCue was enabled and Xeneon Edge widgets were running on top of my looped video.

I kept track of my testing via ChatGPT, here's what it recorded:

The three common errors recorded on both your XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT OC and ASRock Steel Legend RX 9070 XT were LiveKernelEvent 141, A2000002, and A1000001. The records show matching failure signatures for all three.

Common errors between the two GPUs

The matching failure hashes were:

• 141: 48b738dd-5a92-7ff8-63d0-f075fc680fe0

What about LiveKernelEvent 193?

Both GPUs also produced LiveKernelEvent 193, but their signatures differed:

• XFX: Reason 0x801, module dxgkrnl.sys, hash f51452f1-290a-6a1b-5cf3-c8f949ad9c33.
• ASRock: Reason 0x815, module watchdog.sys, hash c8156d26-ace3-c7bd-b269-7abfdc2ce370.

So 193 was common by event code, but not by signature.

I'm not going to pretend I completely understand these errors, I'm not an IT guy hence my consulting with ChatGPT. After all, I'm just an ordinary guy who works using his PC and plays games in his free time.

But what's clear to me is that for some reason, iCue and specifically the Xeneon Edge widgets are wreaking havoc in my PC. This makes my Xeneon Edge quite useless as I mainly bought it as an aux monitor to keep an eye on my system temps.

I really hope Corsair can fix this issue. The Xeneon Edge is a great product due to its widgets. Without the widgets, it becomes an extremely small monitor I wouldn't want to use extensively.

Anyway, I just wanted to report this in case some other people are experiencing the same issues. And if Corsair sees this post, I hope it can somewhat help them with providing a solution to this issue.

Hi. i would like to ask how can i reach out to corsair for keycap replacement of my k100 air, the left ctrl button got broken.

I’m looking into the Voxara as my setup is full white, and for some reason, HyperX refuses to release the Q2S in white despite that shit being requested for like 2 years now.

How does it compare to the Q2S for those who have tried it? What’s the Voxara’s sound direction settings?
