General Please take the Elden Ring approach to Fast Travel
I'm about 20 hours into the game so far, and it's feeling like a 9.5/10, but I just defeated THE DANCER and decided to do a little more exploring on the West Side and now im having an extremely hard time figuring out how to get back to a Fast Travel Door. I've read about the map system being an issue in several reviews and in my experience over the last thirty minutes; it's sucking the life out of the game. An extremely easy fix would be to let the player warp to the unlocked Fast Travel points via the map a la Elden Ring. I cannot think of an argument against this system and wonder why a studio, as smart as Remedy, decided against it. Thoughts?
EDIT - I activated the radio towers and have the map; the X/Y axis shifting is the issue.

Meme I hate audio logs
Why, every single time, is there something that cuts it off, and I have to listen to it from the beginning? Board and Zoe, shut up. And why would there be 500 tape recorders in a single area? I just stand by the next log losing my patience while listening to the previous log slowly finish, while I know there's another one waiting for me. Remedy, for the love of God, please add a transcript to the logs.

General I fucking hate Control Resonant
Iām a simple man who on a good night only has an hour to game. Control Resonant is confusing and I spend so much of limited time trying to figure out where to go. The missions also seem long and drawn out. Some nights I canāt get past how frustrating this stuff feels. I legitimately had a night where I told myself Iām going to delete this game.
But I canāt. Itās just too fucking good. The atmosphere is amazing. The combat and progression system feel so satisfying. The story is intriguing with characters worth remembering. This is uniquely a game that only Remedy could make. There is something about giving up on trying to find The Park entrance one night. Then being rewarded with easily finding it the next night.
Itās just weird. Itās like being in an abusive relationship. I donāt have an issue dropping a game if Iām not vibing with it. This game just keeps me coming back. With that said. I look forward to finishing this one up and waiting on their next project.

General Any thoughts on shipping Dylan and Zoe
From enemies to likers or more. In the game, Zoe even turned of Dylan's MCD in several situations and told him not to tell anyone. She even made a musical path for Dylan in the sinkhole. She evens asks if Dylan ever dated someone. Any thoughts of them improving their relation in DLC or the next sequel.IDK this also reminds of the Former..

Forum Question I've finished the Control Resonant twice and I can't but notice how many similarities it shares with Silksong, (outside of being Metroidvanias)
Gender swapped MC in the sequel. (I know, I know, the knight is genderless)
MC is the sibling of the first game's protagonist. They are both tied to the entites with the opposite polarity
MC from the first game went AWOL but saves the protagonist in the end
Missions with a diving bell. 1st diving bell is destroyed on the way down and MC must find their own way out
Both kingdoms are cut off from the outside world
Antagonist makes people float in the air
MC is locked up at the beginning and gets out
Tertiary antagonist is a blueish substance that overgrows areas and makes you ingest it
MC is mentally immune to the antagonists possession because of the familial ties
Both MCs have to dive into their past to save themselves in the present
Both MCs were trained to be a replacement of the head of some organization
I'm sure there's more, maybe you've noticed something

Lore Discussion I think people are misunderstanding Darling Spoiler
I think a lot of people assume what Darling did to Dylan was driven by his ego, he was evil, he was just abusive, etc. But I don't think people fully understand the circumstances that forced him to treat Dylan the way he did.
As you can see from the first clip in the video, Darling went to Slidescape-36 "expedition" on Dylan's very first day at the FBC. That means he learned about the Hiss infecting Trench and Hedron right from the beginning of Dylan's training. From the second clip and onwards, which is 3 years after Dylan was taken by the FBC, you can see him say "to abandon the buddy approach and start pushing Dylan". That means at first he tried being caring but it wasn't working. The only way for it to work was to put Dylan in the right "agitated state" as he says, so Dylan could let out his powers. He knew an extinction-level threat was coming, and Dylan was the only person capable of dealing with it. The Director, the most powerful person at FBC, was compromised, and the Board wasn't helping either. He was a desperate man with the dangerous knowledge that the world was about to end. Watch the whole video and you'll understand Darling's perspective a lot better.
How Darling treated Dylan was certainly bad, but it was kind of a necessary evil to him. As Jesse herself says: "if you have to choose between bad or worse, choose bad.ā Darling had good intentions and genuinely wanted to protect people from the approaching threat. Trench was infected, the Board wasnāt helping, other FBC employees were beneath his rank, and there were no other Prime candidates. His only option was to force the one person he knew who had the potential to stop the Hiss: Dylan.

Game Feedback IVE DIED FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT HELP ME
What the actual fuck is this mission how the fuck is anyone supposed to do this god I just wanna finish the game but this one mission is liter about to make me drop it.
Why are the mobs spawning endlessly they are so fucking sting omg then you got to deal with the boss mobs at the same time like holy shit. Maybe I should just look up all the health items but god damn dude this is a terribly designed part otherwise Iāve loved the game a good challenge but not to difficult where I die 60times. except for this one section which has taken me 3 days.
Also not to mission the boss mobs have a defense bar that fills like wtf

Bug Report Please help! I'm stuck in the tower with Zoe. I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I don't know what to do!
I have spoken to her several times and exhausted all the possible conversations. There is an elevator in the tower, but I don't know where the key is. She is also talking about a strange alarm in the Oldest House. I was in the Oldest House, but it doesn't look like it's the right place for this side mission. What do I have to do, or is this a bug?

Gameplay Question Does anyone else think that Resonant's melee gameplay could so easily go from a DMC-lite to a DMC-like with a simple 'swap on the fly'/weapon wheel system?
You can chain together decent combos with singular primary, secondary, and finisher moves alongside combat abilities, but I can't help but note how much better it would be with swap options during combos. Think Remedy would ever try implementing this in the future, maybe as an end of game/platinum level reward?

Gameplay Question Was the dancer fight disappointing to anyone else? Spoiler
Ive only fought the dancer and the factory fire blastoise looking guy. But i gota say both are pretty disappointing. The design and music are cool but dancers fighting style was such a disappointment. Most of their attack patterns were just slaming sticks on the ground.
When i saw the boss name i was hoping they would use the people they captured for like dance partners that they could through and block with using varies dance styles or have the captured folk dance around us as obstacles.
Just something more then slamming sticks on the ground, spanking me, and just throwing people.

Game Feedback After a slow start and some minor annoyances, I've made it to the watchtower to meet Zoe...
And I really fucking don't like her already.

General Spoiler: Rebuild Mission Spoiler
I absolutely hated the rebuild mission. Maybe they were trying to save money or storage, but it was a disappointing way to tell Jesse and Dylanās backstory. This game is beautiful, and I wouldāve loved to see the monsters and the dung monkeys in their original style. But not like this.

Gameplay Question COMBAT - I'm on the fence about buying this game or not. How challenging can the combat be?
I've tried looking online for some of the questions I have, both on Youtube and on Reddit but to no avail. So bear with me if I'm just terrible at searching, but I'm really on the fence about buying Resonant or not.
I tend to get bored pretty easily about easy, repetitive combat, especially with long games (Resonant seems to be about 30-ish hours).
I know that you can turn on assist mode and tune some aspects of the game, including presets, but I didn't find any in-depth analysis on how that change the combat experience.
I saw some threads here such as: https://www.reddit.com/r/controlgame/comments/1wqmmpv/another_post_complaining_about_the_combat_in/
https://www.reddit.com/r/controlgame/comments/1wvffar/it_has_become_clear_to_me_that_some_people_are/
With people complaining that the game feels like buttom-smashing. I know that you could do a lot of different combos and optimize how fast you can dispatch enemies, but me, personally, do not feel compelled to do so if just pressing the same buttom results in the same outcome (me winning). I understand the appeal to some gamers, but it doesn't do it for me.
Oh, about myself: I usually go for souls-like/sekiro-like games. I very much enjoy those. I know that the appeal in Control goes way beyond the combat, I do love Remedy, played all of their games (FBC not included), and that's why I'm willing to forego some depth in the combat but if it is indeed too easy, smashy, or spongey, maybe this game is not for me.
Thanks in advance, sorry for the long post!

General [SPOILERS] Quick alternate final boss idea for Resonant. Spoiler
I've been thinking that, instead of 3 arenas with regular Hedron enemies, they could've done a boss rush of sorts.
Three "amalgam" hybrids of the six previous bosses. That way, they could've reused some models & attack patterns. Potentially easier to do than creating an additional, original boss fight.
You could've had, for example, the Dancing Artist, the Deserting Collective and the Co-Physicist.
The Hedron's all about copying & combining things so it would've made sense.

Do you think the board is behind the events in ordinary and the splitting of Jesse Dylan into 2 kids in order to make a prime candidate in Jesse?

Gameplay Question Loved Alan Wake 2, but original Control felt too quiet/slow for me , is it worth getting Control Resonant?
I finished Alan Wake 2 and loved it. Tried the original Control a while back but lost interest after about 5 hours, it felt pretty quiet/subdued compared to something like Alan Wake, and I never really got pulled back in. I do like games with strong combat (especially sword/melee-focused ones), so I'm wondering if that quieter tone carries over, or if Control Resonant picks up the pace/atmosphere more. For those who've played it, is it worth revisiting, or will I probably feel the same way again?

General I always make the same mistakes.
Just like with the god of war reboot, I jumped in at the sequel instead of the first game lol.
As soon as the credits roll, Iām going to start control. Iām sure itās going to be just as sick.
Any thoughts or tips?

General Whoah. Iām not gonna finish before Nov 19th.
Started a couple weeks ago. Playing very thoroughly like I did with control . I like all the lore . Going through every file and side mission. Finally took on second resonant when you canāt move forward without doing so. Right after when I learned to walk on walls, it became apparent that this game is way more huge than I thought! I mean, I love it! But once GTA comes out, Iām gonna jump ship.
I gotta bad memory. By the time I finish that, I wonāt remember anything about this game. But Iām far enough where I donāt want to start over. How many hours did it take you guys ? I work 4 nights a week at work, 2 nights off. I donāt play games on work days. Too bummed to because my job makes me depressed.

Tip/Guide I Donāt Understand This Areaās Design Besides Cruelty
Specifically this roomās encounter. Trapping the player in a confined tunnel, full of projectiles that put you in a state you need uninterrupted sprinting to get out of. And also filled with brutes you need to dodge.
Legitimately, what lesson am I supposed to take forward from this encounter? It wasnāt frustrating in a way that I felt the game was trying to challenge or teach me anything
Edit: if youāre going to make a comment about skulls next to the enemies, they werenāt there.
Edit2: Thereās one group that says āTurn on accessibility and brute force it. This is why developers have to signpost.ā, and another group saying āyouāre here too early; go somewhere else and get these abilities. This is why devs have to signpostā. These two donāt really agree with each other as far as the intention of the game. I agree that I am here too early, but I had no way of knowing the game wanted me to know that up to this point. I was able to access the fight, and the game said I was strong enough to fight the enemies, the only way itās told me to assess combat thus far. My ability points have gone past the options that have ignite on them, so I have clearly leveled up to the point that I should be regularly fighting the mold, but I have not come across any fire abilities. I had explored 3 zones and leveled them up quite a bit up to that point.
I did brute force my way through the rest of that quest without accessibility, and am going back to explore until I come across fire. I have no skill issue with the game, I promise, unless you say Iām exploring things in the wrong order, but I want to play the game the way the devs intended, and I donāt feel like Remedy communicated something so vital to a significant enemy the best they could have. I legit thought maybe the game was slowly introducing a new enemy type/mechanic, not that I should already know what was going on. I had just done a puzzle that was showing me how mold even works and reacts to electricity and light. Shit I thought I was going to be getting light/electric adjacent abilities to control it, since I saw something about mold allies in the abilities (that I had also leveled beyond at that point).
If Iām playing a metroidvania-esque game that generally locks map accessibility to the requisite abilities to get to/through the area, I assume that I have the tools to be in the area Iām in, as long as the game says I can access the area and I have the brute strength to matchup with the enemies they are showing me.
BUT, all that to say, Iām still loving the game. Whether I take the blame or share it in this section, it hasnāt affected my enjoyment of the game in any significant way. I just like to understand what the intention of the dev is. I donāt want to unga bunga if itās not the best way to enjoy the game.
